Hi Jean, we dont always used a clamp. If we do we are not to worried about spray and cook as the sarmies are buttered on the outside. Rhis keeps it from sticking and crisps it up beutifully... hope this helps.
Hi shano, it might be because of the flour used that the pie did not stick. If you are worried you could use some spray and cook. I used a plate, opened the clamp put a plate on the pie and turned it over. Hope this helps. 🔥🔥👍

braai clamp is it necessary to spray and cook or butter.or use a clamp.

How about buttering the outside while on the fire
