I agree, the front end of the last gen Accord 2018-2022 was top tier. Timeless and elegant. I dislike the new front end on the civic and accord. Doesn’t flow with the rest of the car well imo.
I think this new version is one of the most boring car models currently being offered by any brand. The last two accords look better than this current gen.

Spot on as usual. I drove a 2024 Accord Hybrid and the 25 Camry. Tha Honda is a fantastic sedan. But the Camry offered more standard features. Cost much less. I also agree on the style and design. The cabin may be a little bit better in the Accord. The overall aesthetics on the Camry are more attractive. IMO. I did get the Camry.
Accord has outperformed the camry year after year, last waaayyy longer with less repairs....I'm not a fan of some off this but honda all the way for coupes and sedans
for the current Accord prices, it should feel more special. I laugh when I think someone at Honda thought painting the front side air inlets different colors "= tusks" was a great design choice. Same on the CRV.
The 23 Accord EX-L has rear vents and USB ports. I have one so I'm sure. I agree the price increases on the Accord are just too high. Cost is already up almost $3000 over my 23 Accord.
I can’t stand the fact that it has fixed rear headrests and only one map pocket behind the passenger front seat! It drives me crazy!! These are features that my 7th gen has plus hood struts plus a very nice camel interior color. I just finished watching a review of the Australian Accord and it has the adjustable back headrests and two map pockets instead of one plus adjustable interior ambient lighting plus sun blinds for the rear seats and a panoramic sunroof. However, I much prefer the dashboard layout of the American Accord than the Australian, as the latter’s instrument cluster is just a free standing screen (which to me looks incredibly silly) whereas the American model has a proper housing for the instrument cluster.
i had an Accord as a loaner recently I assume it was one of the 2.0T models and the entry level side. That dash board had the cheapest black plastic I have ever seen in a $30k+ car. Even felt cheap! The Camry is also better looking than the polarizing Accord! The Accord looks like an old man car!
There is no reason at all Honda should still be raising the price every year!!! They are literally trying to price their consumers out the market! This car is a darn disappointment!
Yeah I agree I also live up north and just trade in my 2010 Nissan Altima with 280,000 mi for a 2021 Altima with 20,000 MI! The main reason I got it was for the exterior styling interior styling all-wheel drive and they pretty much redid the motor and transmission numerous times from my 2010 model! Just an all around upgrade! I didn't realize how much I actually wanted all-wheel drive and how much a deal-breaker not having it actually is! It's a little down on horsepower compared to the Camry but still a very torquey motor and gets the job done with very little effort! In my opinion Asian vehicles are the best! Everybody that I know that has a modern American vehicle they're all having issues!
@@TaureanSmoke How much did you get for your Altima trade in if you don't mind me asking. I recently traded a 2015 Civic with 66K miles in need of about $1,500 cosmetic work and I got $10,000 for it.
@@mikeb3216 No it's no problem so the issue is the used dealer market and the used consumer market are two different things! I traded in my 2010 Altima with 280,000 mi to the used dealer market and they only gave me $500! I think that's a combination of things a it's harder for them to move a newer Nissan so getting an older Nissan is a little scary for them I assume! Had I traded it in on the used consumer market I probably could have gotten $3,000 for it! But my predicament was I'm not trying to wait a couple months to sell my car for somebody to come to my house and finally buy it I needed to get rid of it right then and there because I just wanted a new car I haven't had a car payment for 10 years and I realized I pretty much drove all of my value out of the car already I should have traded it in years ago! But the problems with it is it needs work probably about the same work your car needed the engine is perfectly fine the transmission is perfectly fine it's just all the other stuff, suspension, brakes, New tint on the back windshield because somebody decided that they were going to take the tent off for me and didn't tell me that they weren't qualified and before they tried so my back windshield looks like ass! But the main issue is my AC went out again I literally spent $1,600 2 years ago on the AC at Belle tire I don't think they knew what they were doing because now my AC went out again in the peak of summer and that's when I decided I'm done with this car! What really did it was I realized all the work I'm putting into the car is literally a down payment for a new car and then some! So for my new 2021 Altima the second I'm done paying it off I'll probably just get a brand new one whatever year that would be and then keep that one for a while! Some people might say I got fucked but at the end of the day I didn't have AC and it's 85° outside everyday so to me buying the new car was better for me plus it'll be a nice little credit boost! But now I see my problem is the mileage I will always have a trade-in with high miles because I drive way too much! So I don't really think I'll ever be able to get a trade-in with the maximum value it seems like you did pretty good though!
One big reason why i stopped considering Honda is when i realised the lack interior colour options in their vehicles. They make everything come with nothing but fully black interiors except on some Touring trims in which lighter interior option is available, forcing you to buy the most expensive trim if you don’t want an all black interior. Very disappointing!
Yes, and on the Civic the exterior colors don't always work with the light interior- which is only on the top trim are you said. You can't get a light gray exterior with a light gray interior!? It's very limiting.
For the Accord and CRV, their gray options are even extremely limited and not appealing. In the CRV with gray interior, only the seat face is gray but NOTHING else - everything else is black. And black interiors are all monotone - no variation in the black tones. The Accord is better, but only a bit. And very few exterior color options pair with a gray interior. This is a misjudgement IMO and stinks of cost cutting. Honda should also bring back a parchment or tan interior color option.
@@Charleywex That's the plan and we know it. They need to consider maximizing safety benefits for BOTH Honda AND Acura and AWD should be an option on Hondas (standard on Touring). Regarding Acura, it's a step up from Honda, but it's not up to Lexus or Genesis level luxury. It doesn't look, feel, or smell luxurious like the competitors. Acura seems like a more expensive Honda inside.
@@Charleywex I drive a '13 TL Shawd and It is the best handling car I've ever owned. But won't do the 2.0t on RDX/TLX.. Waiting for next gen. CX5 Hybrid or Rav4 Prime. Both coming next year (2026 models hopefully).
Kirk, This is welcome news. It would be 'great' news if Honda made a mainstream sedan with rear seat headroom as generous as front seat headroom. It would be SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS if they brought back the Accord wagon.🤯🤯 When it comes to today's crop of coupe-sedans, the Camry LE AWD remains the obvious choice. 🤩
I'd love a wagon too. But I believe part of the problem with current Accord platform (last gen and this one) are that they kept the same roofline height as the Civic - they just made it slightly longer and wider. For a family sedan, it should be easier to enter/exit and sit upright. Even kids get tall.
@@chrissetina1107 Amen! Accord and Civic are class leaders in rear seat legroom but they forgot to include a place for rear passengers over 5'8" to put their heads!!!!! No mainstream company makes a truly practical sedan anymore. Sales of low-slung, coupe-sedans keep plummeting as a result of their misguided focus on 'swoopiness'. It is only the six figure, luxury brands that retain the traditional, rational, boxy sedan profile but most of us don't have six figures to spend. No wonder practical people are buying CUVs. Other than huge 'mini' vans, we don't have an alternative. 😡
To be fair, I don't think there's much Honda could have done with Accord to sales what they used to be. HOWEVER, it seems like they tried to make this generation as bland as possible to appeal to as many people as possible. As a current 2014 Accord V6 coupe owner, id never buy this gen Accord.
I have a 2015 Accord coupe with the 2.4L 4 and I wouldn’t buy this generation either. Mine has an incredibly solid engine and it’s in great shape, low miles, I see very little appeal in these new Accords in relation to what I already have. I do work for Toyota and even as an Accord guy (this is my second one), if I were to buy a new sedan it would be the 2025 Camry no contest.
No more engine power or panoramic roof and so close to the Hybrid Civic power band, the accord isn’t worth it compared to the Camry. Honda should do more with power and AWD.
I liked the looks of most years of Accord ... until last few years when they added too many angles and lines. They lost their elegance and look cheesy to me.
I don't think Honda thinks they need to be competitive. They think their brand is so strong and every vehicle they make is sold to a current Honda owner.
Well, they failed there as well. I’m on my 6th Accord and I’ve no interest in this product. Not saying the 11th gen has been a failure, just not interested in what became of the model in this iteration.
@@MidnightAspec As a non-Honda owner, the 10th gen model looked great and I loved the 2.0 turbo AWD model. I think they're very pretty cars especially in white. The new one, I don't really like. The thing that I definitely want and I don't understand why it isn't on my car is AWD and a heated steering wheel. Those should be standard and not being standard makes no sense in this age of automobiles. Regarding the "New 2025," Honda still isn't listening. That new body of the Accord is too boring to be considered. Honda NEEDS to completely redesign this car. I don't understand how the Civic kept its looks and DNA and Honda converted the Accord into a four-wheeled Lego block. The Accord is a boring, vanilla, uninspired vehicle. Every time I roll up to a new Accord and look at the new DRLs that were changed from the sexy wrap-around swoop to that straight-line look I am reminded of how bad it must be to drive that bland overpriced hunk of junk. Honda, enough, either kill the Accord or give it a new life because you ruined your own sweet-spot product and you're losing ground rapidly to Toyota and Mazda.
@@Moondoggy1941 so far, yes. But Honda at least pulled 2012 production, and heavily revised the 2013's soft panels (headlights, bumpers, tail lights), reworked the engine programming for more power, added insulation, and altered the suspension. I guess they are building something but it ain't gonna be nearly as many accords - people will start switching to the camry. This is from someone who had a civic, acura, accord for the last 30 years. I like the camry better but I'll switch to a Crown this time.
I hope the Camry doesn’t end up being the only one in the segment just like the Crown is the only one left in its segment but it looks like it’s heading that way
In Canada - we did not get the HYBRID Sonata - Hyundai said the "hybrid Elantra" (only sold in top trim here as well) - is what competes very closely with the Accord and Camry. My heavens - the base Elantra complain for years has been people saying "no rear vents or plug ins" (it does have under seat ones for folks back there - it just not redirected to vents). In any case Hyundai pointed out the interior measurements and particularly "up front" the darn Elantra is very ... very close and substantially less than the Sonata hybrid would be - deluxe trim, $1000s less, still not a bad bad seat area - but how important for most folks.
Civic and integra need rear vents and usbc too on all models this is mandatory. Integra needs hybrid standard with eawd option. Manual option in integra a spec AWD hybrid

In the Southeast Toyota Dealer Network (don't get me started), the lower Camry base price is negated by the mandatory "port added" markup garbage even for domestically produced vehicles. If it weren't for SETD, I'd buy a Camry even though we love our '22 Accord hybrid. Been (im)patiently awaiting the Civic hybrid hatch. Had that been available in late 2018 instead of the Insight, that's what I'd be in now instead of the gas-version I currently drive.

“How the mighty fall” is the only thing that comes to mind. I’ve owned three different generations-98, 04, 06, and 14-and loved each. I’ve driven a couple of 10th gens and really enjoyed them. This 11th gen, even after a refresh, is grossly disappointing and lackluster. As illogical as this may sound, it almost seems that they’re intentionally sending the car toward discontinuation.
I agree the 1.5T drive train is a crappy one. If they were going to discontinue the 2.0T they should made the Accord hybrid only. It’s better, simpler, more reliable drivetrain with way better fuel economy.
2013 Honda Accord EX here. And I have rear AC vents. Can't believe they take something away just to re-introduce it again later and call it a new feature. New Accord is so boring looking. The 11th gen accord is disappointing for a lot of reasons but I think they look far better than the generic Japanese sedan that was the 10th gen. Maybe people just don't like big designs but the only exterior gripe I agree with is the taillights look very cheaply done. But how many more expensive models don't have full LED taillights and LED turn signals.
I miss the days of naturally-aspirated Accords and Civics that could compete and even outdo Toyota in terms of longevity and reliability. Those days are gone with their tiny turbo engines.

Maybe it's because it looks pretty much the same for 9 years now, so it looks aged to me. The Accord Hybrid would be my pick if I were in the market. I didn't like it when it dropped, but it has grown on me and I like it more now.
This 11th gen Accord is still ugly. I tried to force myself to gravitate towards getting this over a 2022 Accord Sport but I just can’t. The front end is just absolutely awful
I bought the touring Civic hybrid. It came up $6k under the Accord touring but aside from that this thing just barely fits in my garage. The accord is almost a foot longer so bear that in mind.
Civic and Camry were slowly killing the Accord. Now Honda delivered the final blow. Sad. I'm a happy Civic owner and would definitely buy new hybrid one. Imho, Honda desperately needs hybrid HR-V. I'd happily buy it when I get old.
I won’t even get into the styling and quality…. (Sat in ONE of these and haven’t looked back, speaking as an owner of a 2018 Sport with two previous bought-new Hondas dating back to my first new car in 2006, I’ll sum it up by saying I’ve been disappointed in the build quality of every current generation Honda I’ve sat in). Honda’s recent decisions on the trim walk and color options are just plain awful. We’ve now reached a point where everything is just a “Sport” model with a different package. And of course the price on the “Sport” models is jacked up because it’s a “Sport”. “We got rid of the LX and replaced it with a Sport LX for $1500 more. It just adds big wheels and a tighter suspension to ruin your fuel economy and ride quality so you can pay more to feel sporty.” (Sorry, I know that rant really isn’t relevant to this video because that’s not actually what they did with the SE model, but it’s not far off the mark and I just needed to get it off my chest). When I bought my 2006 Civic there were three trims; DX, LX, and EX. The DX had manual everything; No power door locks, windows, etc. The LX added the power features, and the EX added a split folding rear seat, alloy wheels, and a sunroof. A few years after I got it they added the EX-L because people wanted a Civic with leather seats; It was just an EX with leather seats. I get that the DX wouldn’t fly in today’s market, and the market does demand the availability of more premium options such as HUD, but as time goes on Honda just keeps removing the less expensive trims and adding higher priced trims to the top of the trim walk, with no consideration given to lower priced options. (And then, yeah, they “Sport”-ify everything to squeeze a bit more money out by stroking peoples’ exotic sports car fantasies with a “Sport” trim, so we end up with an LX, Sport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring at the end of the day). I really wish Someone would take the time to rebalance the trim walk and actually make it practical for the average owner. Make some trims without low profile tires. Give us some interior color options other than Black. Make the base trim basic again, and less expensive. And most of all, fix the build quality issues and hire back whoever designed the 10th gen cars to design whatever comes next because that generation was amazing, and this generation just looks like early 2000s Ford.
That was longer than I intended, but it felt good. All these automakers have the same problem, especially the Japanese ones, but I don’t want to write another novel right now so that’s a rant for another day.
@@jaanfo3874a base model would be good in this current situation, the problem is the more things people demand feature wise in cars, the more expensive it gets.
I'll save you guys some time since I recently did research on these cars. Camry LE is selling at MSRP where I live. With convenience package + cold weather package, it comes out to be $30,500. Accord hybrid sport is selling below MSRP -$3000 , which comes out to be around $31,500. At the end, there is not a big difference in price unless you are buying a basic basic LE trim, which is hard to find.
They need to redesign to make it easier to get in and out of. The roofline is too low. SUVs are popular because it's easy to get into and doesn't have a sloping roof. Chrysler made the same mistake, now Honda is well.
I laughed after, "I have great news for the Honda Accord." For what it's worth I generally enjoy Honda's driving dynamics better than Toyota's for sedans as Honda tends to create a bit sportier ride in my experience.
I have a 2023 Accord Hybrid sport and love it even over the new Camry. However, there is a software issue that Honda can't fix and it's a potential buy back. If Honda buys it back, I'll be getting the Civic Hybrid hatchback touring without question.
The infotainment center can't be updated. It gives an error code everytime we start the car. Honda has tried to update it 7 times and nothing worked. It occasionally causes issues with phone calls and will randomly reboot the system at times.
The current Accord feels like a repeat of the 2012 Civic debacle. I doubt Honda is listening to its customers. More likely, they've received complaints from dealers about having to push the LX and EX with cash. The SE is just lipstick on a pig at this point. Honda is going to feel even more pressure from the new Camry over the next year as Marysville line consolidation is no longer an excuse for reduced sales. At the very least, they need to reconfigure the front and rear to add some personality, and improve the very dismal interior so its a better place to spend time.
@@arhamkhakwani5851 The 9th Gen civic launched for the 2012 model year but got ripped to shreds for it's interior materials, overall exterior design, etc. It was developed (according to Wikipedia) during the 2008 financial crisis so Honda thought consumers wouldn't mind the cost cutting because it was affordable and efficient. That ideology blew up in their face causing rivals to have an increase in sales, the Civic being removed from the recommended list on consumer reports, and Edmunds pointing out the car's flaws. For 2013 (next model year) Honda facelifted the Civic fixing most of the issues.
Improvements are nice, but the exterior design is still probably the most boring design of any car currently on sale. And the pricing is atrocious. The hybrid starts more than $5k higher than a hybrid Camry. I can't imagine why anyone would buy this over a Civic or Camry.
I took both 2024 Accord EX-L Hybrid and Camry XLE AWD with Premium package for a test drive. Granted, for just $5K more Camry had lots of extra features, but I enjoyed driving Accord so much more! It felt more steady, quieter, and more natural! And my wife who was riding with me both times is completely agree! We are settling for Accord. In July I bought 2025 Camry SE Hybrid with AWD which comes with cold package, convenience package and multi media package. On top that it has sunroof, heated steering wheel, seats, black & white softext leather, clothe seats and 12 in screen among other options. All that for $36,452. It also gets 42 mpg . Yes, rear air vents, usb-c plugs and almost all safety equipment are standard. Which the 2024 Accord had some of the packages for the same price. Camry was the better buy.
This Accord design came out the same time I was in market for a new car and I found 1 EX at a dealer 50 miles away from me. Nearby dealers didn't have any new design in stock at the time (early Feb 2023). I almost sealed the deal via text with the dealer because I was desperate for a car (previous car was totaled) until I realized the steering wheel is plastic, Apple CarPlay is not wireless (Toyota that I bought has wireless), manual seats adjustment, not auto dim rearview mirror, no parking sensors, no heated seats, etc. for $30k plus markup. I just walked away and the salesperson was willing to sell at MSRP and I still didn't want it. I had told myself all along I would get Honda next time I buy the car, but when time came Honda just shot their prices through the moon, but flush their cool features down in the toilet. Not even a single USB-C ports and blamed on supply chain back then while Toyota somehow came out with all USB-C? 4 ports of my car are USB-C while Accord had none. I'm glad Toyota is adapting fast by adding features to lower trims and their designs don't look too cheap anymore. The prices of new designs aren't that affordable either, but at least you get what you pay for while Honda is very disappointing in the past few years tbh. The prices go up, but extremely barebones in lower trims like someone forced them to make lower trims.
Too little too late. The Camry IS better than the Accord in both features and value. Honda cannot add eAWD. They can't even make it cheaper. They simply run off their reliable reputation, but there's 0 reason to get an Accord over the Camry. Honda has lost their way.

Just drove for 2 days a accord Hybrid. It wasn't bad in the city and driving interstate. We spent a day in the mountains of West Virginia and that is wear I felt it wasn't great for perfomance. Climbing the mountains the car engine was loud under load. Also if you wanted to pass someone there just isn't enough power if you don't have a runway to get around them. I would give up MPG to have 50hp more. For fuel econ it was great took hours to see the gas gauge move. At the end of the day depending where you drive and what you want for performance but for me I need a little move HP.
Meh, the last car was way better looking. The Civic is way better looking.

AWD is not even available on the Accord.
@@michaelfoulkes9502 Sorry, l meant Civic. Thanks.
They want you to buy an Acura for the best AWD system that is in production. They don't want to put something like SH-AWD on a Honda
@@Charleywex That's the plan and we know it. They need to consider maximizing safety benefits for BOTH Honda AND Acura and AWD should be an option on Hondas (standard on Touring). It would be SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS if they brought back the Accord wagon.🤯🤯 When it comes to today's crop of coupe-sedans, the Camry LE AWD remains
the obvious choice.
A V6 Coupe would be nice! Why is Honda neglecting us??
I have a 2015 Accord coupe with the 2.4L 4 and I wouldn’t buy this generation either. Mine has an incredibly solid engine and it’s in great shape, low miles, I see very little appeal in these new Accords in relation to what I already have. I do work for Toyota and even as an Accord guy (this is my second one), if I were to buy a new sedan it would be the 2025 Camry no contest.

No more engine power or panoramic roof and so close to the Hybrid Civic power band, the accord isn’t worth it compared to the Camry. Honda should do more with power and AWD.

It just adds big wheels and a tighter suspension to ruin your fuel economy and ride quality so you can pay more to feel sporty.”
(Sorry, I know that rant really isn’t relevant to this video because that’s not actually what they did with the SE model, but it’s not far off the mark and I just needed to get it off my chest).
@@jaanfo3874a base model would be good in this current situation, the problem is the more things people demand feature wise in cars, the more expensive it gets.
this gen accord is like the 2013 Civic deja vu where the press was so bad they redesigned it for the next year.

I have a 2023 Accord Hybrid sport and love it even over the new Camry. However, there is a software issue that Honda can't fix and it's a potential buy back. If Honda buys it back, I'll be getting the Civic Hybrid hatchback touring without question.

Yes, rear air vents, usb-c plugs and almost all safety equipment are standard. Which the 2024 Accord had some of the packages for the same price. Camry was the better buy.
I like it but the increased prices and no AWD pushes me to prefer a Camry.
Still ugly with no engine updates or awd. Wild in 2025 adding usb c and rear air vents is an upgrade lol
You should check out the CPI calculators for Aug 2023 vs Aug 2024. The prices look like they are just adjusted for inflation.
So i guess 2026 will be a refresh coming....
Too little too late. The Camry IS better than the Accord in both features and value. Honda cannot add eAWD. They can't even make it cheaper. They simply run off their reliable reputation, but there's 0 reason to get an Accord over the Camry. Honda has lost their way.
Camry is just ugly as sin like it was designed by 50 different people.
@@ericdolby1622 The worst looking Camry is far better than the best looking Accord
@@chhoylai doubt that. You mean the best looking Camry is better looking than the worst looking accord which is this current generation, but definitely not better looking than the previous generation accord.
@@AlxN52 The last gen Accord isn't in the conversation. The front was nice, but not a fan of crab taillights and how it aged
@@chhoyla not even close. Fit and finish on a Honda is world's better. The looks are more sophisticated and mature. A Honda is way more reliable especially as of late. There is better resale with a Honda. A Honda is a drivers car by far.
I love my new 2024 accord sport-L best car ever ❤
I am so let down with the new Accord. I own a 21 Accord Sport 2.0T. Very sad they went away from 2.0T but I will gladly move to a sport hybrid if the outside of the car actually looked good. It is one of the ugliest Accord designs ever.
It makes less power than 6th 7th 8th 9th & 10th gen
Just drove for 2 days a accord Hybrid. It wasn't bad in the city and driving interstate. We spent a day in the mountains of West Virginia and that is wear I felt it wasn't great for perfomance. Climbing the mountains the car engine was loud under load. Also if you wanted to pass someone there just isn't enough power if you don't have a runway to get around them. I would give up MPG to have 50hp more. For fuel econ it was great took hours to see the gas gauge move. At the end of the day depending where you drive and what you want for performance but for me I need a little move HP. Put 4 adults in the accord and you will feel that it is under power for passing or driving in the mountain. Live in a city with no hills it would be fine.
Did they still remove siriusxm
So basically its still ugly?
wow. I bought my 2020 2.0T Sport for $30.5K out the door
The EXL and Touring had rear ac vents and usb c ports
The new accord hybrid is simply stunning in person; may be purchasing in the next couple days.
