Its actually because the humanoid's rig type was set to R6, you might be saying but in the video its r6, well i dont know why it works on certain people but what you should do is take out the first animate script and put it in workspace(so you remember the id's) and set the rig type to R15, click play, copy the r15 animate script and put it in StarterCharacterScripts and put all the id's like in the video, if this works id be very happy bc i just took 5 minutes writing this!
I followed the 8D tutorial but still had the problem that none of the animations where playing after the end of the tutorial and the character was still doing T-pose. The fix is to remove the AnimationController if the StarterCharacter has that assigned, it will block the Animator (I think) , so remove that and voila it works.

What happens if the animation scaling doesn't work? After I followed the first few steps of animation scaling before the step at 10:20, when I press "Apply Scale", nothing happens. It doesn't even create a fixed duplicate of the animation. What do I do?
@@thealcatrazsyndrome It's a lot harder in VR because you have to estimate where every single bone should be positioned and rotated based on three points: the headset and the two controllers. But it's not impossible I've done it before.
my character cant move, and when i jump it lets me move and somethimes mid air it starts sliding still unable to move, everything is correct the scale is at 1 i did a rootpart but it does that, EDIT: I FIXED IT, this might be a common one, some characters have a rootPart part added on them so make sure do disable collisions on that and make it massles

Everything works perfectly, except the animations actually playing. I deleted the torso and everything else in the animate script, and changed the animationid in the idle part, yet the animations still aren't being played.
You've gotta make sure the animations work in the animation editor, after that I'd check if changing the humanoid rig type works, if none of those works then it seems you need your own custom animate script, i have a tutorial on that on my channel 8D movement tutorial

For some reason none of the new animations are playing when putting the new animate script in and editing the animation ids. The priority is set to mvoement and i even tried the max priority not sure whats going on

Very weird, I did everythign for the animation and used roblox's default animation controller but the idle anim still doesnt play. Even using a regualr script to initiate the atnimation doesnt work on it.
Im a bit confused. Why would you need the animation resizer? I wish you showed what would happen if you used aniamtion that didnt resize or in the other case where you mentioned "if you dont do this then you get weird sliding". The video is good and concise but as someone who animates in blender Im a bit confused why one would use the tool.
Right after I fix the scale on my character I show what happens to the animations, I'm like 99% sure we have to use this tool because mixamo has giant models apparently, and when you scale the rig and animation down, multiply it by the inverse factor, the root bone position in the key frames themselves go all crazy
And just to mention, you don't have to use the plugin, you could just go through the animation key by key and fix it yourself, that's all the tool does

@@Glxsk the sliding issue always happens because of the scale, so make eure the Starter character in your starter player folder has a scale of 1, as for the animation resizer plugin I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up, check if it's undocked and placed weirdly out the bounds of the screen maybe?
@@Glxsk it could be related to other plugins you have installed, maybe they're not compatible, try disabling the other plugins in the plugin manager, and then re enable animation resizer

I followed the 8D tutorial but still had the problem that none of the animations where playing after the end of the tutorial and the character was still doing T-pose.
The fix is to remove the AnimationController if the StarterCharacter has that assigned, it will block the Animator (I think) , so remove that and voila it works.

Everything worked until I got to animations, my character is still in idle when I import the animations
if you export your model scaled correctly with the right export settigns you probably dont have to do all that plugin stuff

if bones aren't being imported, something's wrong with the .fbx file
I had the same problem. To fix this you have to check "Import zero bones"
yea im having the same problem but there is no import zero bones that i can check off
That's because of the name, rename the bones and animation when importing into roblox
I figured out the problem its because the file size needs to be less than 20mb
i followed the for to make the rig work but i just fall to my Death

you have to combine the whole model! its not too hard once you start, all the parts must be weighted and combined

You have to use the button in the scale field, this keeps the transforms the same
Alternatively, if this doesn't work, ungrouping and regrouping the model sets the scale to be == 1

Hmm, not sure, did you change the jump animation or attempt scripting your own Animate script?
yes it happens with standard animate script but rarely I tried another script but it made the animations work worse

Make sure you applied the scale to the character within the StarterPlayer folder
