I think why BSB doesn't like if you want it to be good, girl, get yourself a bad boy because it is the opposite of their image of being upstanding and respectful males. I remember A.J. complaining about the song ' The Call' as a bad song for little girls to like because it portrays males as liers and cheaters. And of course, liers and cheaters in relationships are bad people. I think the reason these types songs were added to their albums to record and sing is to not destroy their clean, cut image, but to add spice, realness and imperfection to it. You can still be a good, upstanding guy if you have some flaws but you keep them under check so you don't hurt yourself or the one you love.
By the way, a lot of current day romance authors have a similar line about females falling in love with bad boys and guess what? Those novels sale! So if there is a market for clean, respectful and loving males in the fiction market then it would make sense if it's opposite was around in not only novels, but music and television as well. It is all entertainment and relative.
I forgot to mention this in all of my rants! I prefer the clean cut, respectful romantic music of the Backstreet Boys not the bad boy stuff. Just adding my two cents and true opinion in
