The worst thing for me in H5 was Rachel dying wayyy to early...or her dying at all. She shoulda been the final girl again or atleast made it to the end....well that and Jamie being a mute..that sucked too. But H5 has a special place in my heart just like H4 and H6. I watched those 3 so much as a kid
That Michael Myers statue is scary as hell, It’s just sitting there behind Mike while staring at the camera, This might be very chilling down the spine if the statue changes position each time without them noticing what’s happening until then.
This script did not sound all bad. Halloween 5 was such a disappointment after Halloween 4 was so good. Rachel should have had a much bigger role in part 5. Wish the movie would have continued right after part 4. Great video guys!!! Thank you for an amazing and fun October!!!
Actually, 5 REDEEMED 4...Halloween 4 made several critical mistakes that 5 came along, addressed, and corrected...5 makes 4 more enjoyable, because I can more easily overlook the mistakes...I can take them in stride, knowing that they were resolved...
They should have went ahead 10 years and made Jamie escape just like Michael did. Then made her the killer. People would have been fine with it . If it didn't work then they could have figured something else out but atleast have the balls to try. And #1 never get a theatre writer or a Eurpeon director to direct a American classic horror franchise . Halloween 5 proved that.
@@WeWatchedAMovie There's _one_ way I can see Jamie as the killer working, but you have to be willing to lean heavily into Michael being supernatural and _also_ return to the root of what made Myers effective. It was never really Michael Myers. Loomis hints at this from the first film. Remember how he always referred to Michael as an it rather than him? Nurse Marion Chambers asks him to stop calling Michael an it. Moments later when Michael drives off, he says, "It's gone from here! The evil is gone!" When Jamie was oddly drawn to Michael, touched his hand and then Michael was gunned down, throw in that they dropped dynamite down after him, blew him to bits and the evil was no longer in that _shape_ and had moved to Jamie. From what we know, Michael was seemingly just any other harmless boy before that one Halloween night where he butchered his sister, Judith. What made him do it? What changed him? When did the boy's eyes become the devil's eyes? So what I'm saying here is that we'd stop calling it Michael or even Jamie, but call it as its true name; the Shape. Some sort of unknowable evil that seeks to harm us. I mean by Halloween 2 and 4, we're clearly showing Myers doing impossible supernatural stuff. He survives too much, is far too strong and is honestly ghostly in a way. Lean into it! Then we don't have the issue of a 60+ (blink twice and he'll be in his 70s) year old Michael and can have the plot break away from family relations too. I even imagined a scene where we see an old Loomis speaking to someone that can be a sort of apprentice to him. He can explain in a sad scene that he failed Jamie and that the evil did kill her in a way. She's gone and now all that remains are those black eyes Loomis once saw in Michael. The one thing the writers would have to avoid is making this just another "body hopper" monster. The Shape is way more patient, way more methodical than that. It can wait literal decades before even making a move. Carpenter never gave a reason behind Myers' motives and I think that's for the best. The Shape is pure evil - completely unknowable, illogical and most importantly it's deceitful. Loomis has said as much. "You've fooled them, haven't you, Michael? ...but not me."
Ridiculous. That 'European' director was possessed of a far more acute understanding of what made the '78 original work than any other director in the series.
I personally don't mind the Jamie going down a dark path concept, I like the ending of H4, I think there was potential within that idea. That said, I don't like this script, this was not the way to go about it. Though neither was the actual H5 to be fair, in my opinion.
I was watching a Halloween 5 on location with Sean Clarke and according to Don shanks, there was scenes Cut out of the movie were you see Michael fighting the s.w.a.t team with more violence.
Really glad to hear you guys cover this script after regarding Taking Shape 2. It's funny to hear you guys completely tearing it apart after how pissed you were about it getting tossed in the trash during the director's meeting with Akkad. 😂 Great video though. Love ya guys! I’m just now learning to appreciate Halloween 5 for the few things I like about it, especially since I love Halloween 4 AND Halloween 6 and this is sandwiched right in the middle of the Thorn trilogy, but it seems like every concept attached to 5 would have been difficult to pull off
It’s 2020 and Laurie and her family are the stars of the Halloween movies and 2018 Halloween had a bunch of scenes that existed just to get them together in a final showdown without Michael even trying to find Laurie, so it’s not like we’re in territory that is altogether different lol. And every slasher killer has limitations if you think about it - Freddy is mostly limited to dreams and Jason mostly kills people who come to him directly at the camp. Michael was still the most free roaming killer despite having certain specific targets throughout the franchise.
There are some wacky ideas out there for horror movies. We got a few but the ones we didn't. I guess 5 and 6 could have been better with a hybrid of certain cuts. Kinds like producer's cut but a little more sprinkles on top. Awesome job with the vid guys! 👍🎃
About Lindsey Wallace: Makes some sense. After watching WWAM's Halloween 4 watch-talk, I noticed that Mike thought the girl in the car with Rachel when she picked up Jamie from school was Tina, but it was Lindsey. It just so happened that Lindsey favored Tina from Halloween 5. So, since Lindsey was besties with Rachel, she would be meat for the beast that is Michael Myers. Remember, The Boogeyman always works from the outside, in.
Hi Mike and Jay i from Austria. I like your Videos so much . Michael Myers is the best BTW did you watch Halloween Inferno part 3 ? When Not do it just do it.
When is the Halloween Inferno part 3 review coming? Everyone dying to see your reaction! You were in the post credits as well. It’s been almost 3 weeks!?!?
Yeah I agree Halloween 5 was the where the downfall of Halloween began as well and instead of keeping it simple they tried to over complicate things. That is why the original is so scary because there was “No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blind, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the DEVIL'S eyes!” It’s as simple as that! A madman going around killing random teenagers smoking pot and having sex is simple yet effective, and there was no reason to change it in my opinion.
That's just it...Halloween 5 did NOT change it. Halloween 5 was the most faithful of all the sequels to the classic '78 premise. They introduced a couple of new elements, but only in the most nebulous sense...the Thorn, and the Man in Black, were present, but only in the most Spartan, minimalist fashion...The Thorn was an emblem, seen, I believe, TWICE....and the Man in Black took up about 70 seconds of screen time...Meanwhile, the barn sequence, by itself, is 12 rock solid minutes of Myers stalking his prospective victims...Yet another solid slab of screen time was devoted to the stalking segment at the Carruthers house. Halloween 5 is just about ALL Myers stalking and pursuing people...and Loomis stalking and confronting HIM...If you like that triangular hunt, there is no film so RELENTLESSLY built upon that framework...as Halloween 5. For decades, it has taken the blame that should rightfully be taken by Halloween 6.

I just got done reading about it in the book that I got this last week and having Jamie as the killer or maybe not was kind of cool. I am on Halloween 666 I just started reading that. What a great book.
Would a Doctor Loomisverse work? Maybe cast Tom Hiddleston and have him go cross country to help Crystal Lake and Elm Street authorities to psychologically understand and bring down their local boogiemen. That could make Michael more mysterious (in that he doesn't have as specific of a link to his madenss as Freddy or Jason) and give Loomis his ego to try to help then chase Michael. Hardly. It was a masterpiece. There is no film in the series that comes so close to replicating the premise of the original.
is better than the man in black

Thank you vert much for liking and liking my comment♡
👀😎
For me
This version has more pros
The the Halloween 5 we ended up getting so I'd take this version if I had to chose
But I'd really wanna give give the middle finger to bother writers and write the damn thing myself cause both suck
doppelgängers like cult of chucky bs
Cult Of Chucky is a good movie.
Boogeyman movies suck as well...
Lol actually michael is the OG Jason is the wannabe michael though a argument could be made that in the sequels when michael gets more vicious that's definitely influenced by Jason and other killers they've inspired yeah! Love it Rachel lives and kicks butt Lindsey returns high body count yayyyy! That's kinda near his four ended most likely she's going to be a killer now but there may be still hope like they said he was controlling her I liked Alice from resident evil lol yeah matrix meets halloween that'd be cool or doctor strange meets halloween lol all these psychic powers stuff sounds like Friday part seven the good parts are better than five but the bad parts are worse than five lol I know you're here michael lol michael shocked face lol Loomis lived through being blown up he can live through getting his head snapped he just cracking his neck Nooooo Rachel dying lol Jaime doing nightmare elm street or like in IT movie michael turning to little boy is like what happens at end of Jason takes Manhattan lol Jaime would be interesting killer be like michael but a lot like chucky too lol would be fun but I'm glad they don't didn't do that yeah the directors just worried about their movie who cares how next movie will be not their problem like the man in black thing they didn't know who he was that'll be whoever does six to figure out lol would have been cooler f they knew what they were doing still glad we got the movies we got but there's some I hear about that I'm like too bad they do that there is some good ideas lol great job love you guys thank you
Halloween 4 and 5 were just trash my least favorite of all the Halloween movies.
delete this video, it's kind of embarrassing. the guy on the left can't even bring himself to fake laugh at his friends attempt at humor.
I appreciate your enthusiasm but this needs a second take.
Yea ... WAY to many subplots ..... WAY to convoluted ..... Agree with the part 4 ending .... NEVER liked that ending
