Easily my favorite project that I've worked with. Responsive developers, really open about what's going on behind the scenes, welcoming community. I highly recommend exploring this project more.
There's honestly nothing better than earning just for storing your data. ❤ Amazing team and community with a long term mindset seeing as they have been going since 2017
The setup process was indeed easy! The fact that we can share storage directly from our computer/hard drives is flexible. However, the public IP fix seems to be causing some difficulties for many. Hopefully there will come an easier solution for this
Hey Nordic! Thanks again for another great video! This is only the second time that I beat you to a project! I want to thank you for all your video's on Fry Miners, and thanks for the heads up on the Geodnet ( I just received my miner yesterday that I ordered in January!). I look forward to your next video as always.
Thank you Nick! Means a lot to hear! Awesome to see you diversifying into the DePIN sector. Look forward to hear about your Geodnet setup, those miners are earning big bucks these days.
@@NordicCrypto I am looking forward to that! I bought the triple splitter from Fry Foundation and I plan to mine the geodnet, fry token, and Onocoy. We shall see!
Great Video. 1 Question : If we connect our hard drive in order to become a node ourselfs then after we want to stop and disconnect our hard drive we can? Or data of users will be on our hard drive?
Thank you and great question! You can disconnect your hard drives whenever you want. The data is being stored as copies and many many different nodes around the world. So you can disconnect you hard drive whenever you want. You will however not earn with it after it is disconnected of course
I looked at the project in the first hour after the video was released, and there was a free 35th place at that time. But I decided not to participate for 2 reasons: 1) The rewards are in TBY tokens, which no one buys, and the trading volume is zero. 2) The token is pegged to the price of storing 1 terabyte, and storage prices are constantly falling, which means that the token will depreciate more than you will earn. In short, it is a losing idea and a project.
That's a good question. However, with chia hardware mining you provide hard drive storage for farming to secure the chia network (L1). Here in DeNet it's more of a a pure DePIN solution to provide storage utility. Very different use-cases but utilizing the same hardware. I like utility/when the usage is more tangible and can be used like in DeNet. Also, as the DePIN sector is running hot right now, I think this sector (DePIN), in general, can perform better than Chia
@@NordicCrypto I agree with what you say but seeing the demand that is present on Chia, this could be a phase of enthusiasm (as with ETCPOW). Thank you for illustrating this project
Hey man, thanks for your content always! What are the best 100/200 usd miners you would recommend now a days? based on ROI ETCMC? Fry? I am willing to invest 500, was thinking of buying three 130ish miners to mine 3 different projects.
Hi there! Good question. For $100 - 200 miners I think there is only the Fry miners to choose from. wow this is intense a whole new money making project but now my question is if u get up to 700 a month how do u get the money out into real usable cash for ur real life lol
The DE tokens you get as reward you can swap on Uniswap, 1inch or balancer to whatever other crypto coin you want. The easiest/cheapest way to "off-ramp" (from crypto --> fiat) is to use the exchanges bank transfer options.
@@NordicCrypto oo awesome! Thank you. Have you seen the 5 miner setup, using a helium miner that mines crankk, wingbits, thingx and honey? Would love a video on that 😁
Yes and no. To join this specific campaign you need to get some TBY tokens (minimum is $3.65 worth). With those TBY tokens you are then able to upload and store data on their network (that requires TBY tokens). The more data you upload you get additional boosts (up to 100GB). Then, if we just talk about the nodes and providing storage, then we don't need to upload anything. Although, uploading is great since it gives the additional boosts anyway.
Thanks for doing this video, and for getting us all in early with you. I'll give the campaign a shot today, but I won't set up a node -- I don't feel comfortable participating in any decentralized storage projects because I can't live with the possibility that I'll be used for hiding CP.
I did actually not ask this question to the DeNet team. But it's a great question. I will see what I can find. However, from my understanding of how the data is being stored on the decentralized nodes, is that the data itself does not exists in the functioning form in other peoples nodes. It's encrypted and not "intact" since it needs the users keys in order to become "whole/or usable". The data (or videos) is only functioning/or whole/or intact when the user who uploaded the data, downloads/or retrieves it, because they are the only one with the keys to "un-encrypt" the data. Although, the underlying encrypted data/infrastructure, that is shared across all/most nodes, that makes up videos/files etc could be the source for practically anything. I would say that this is not as "bad of a situation" as decentralized VPN, were others can straight up use your network as an end-node. But it's definitely up to each and everyone on how they feel on this aspect. The ability to store files anonymous does raise some ethics questions. Thank you for the good input comment. /Br Nordic
Researched Wicrypt and were in contact with them over a year ago if I remember correctly. However, they stopped answering my emails/questions so the thread kind of got lost there
You are correct, entry point is pricey. Although, the 250% apy is on the entire position. So the ROI during the campaign is looking good

@NordicCrypto Pricey? If there's a 189 nodes supply, It means that the 189th node will need 13179 DE to be a Datakeeper. That's a 6432$ investment. I'm curious about the ROI in this case.
@@Grumpydadwithtech I set up my storage in 2021 and only receive about that much as well. They only pay you when they get paid so even early adopters are waiting but that’s the point. All of these storage providers are lacking users. SCPrime not going to incentivize for nonsense participation, usage and money must actually be made first. Also take into account that their token supply is low so when storage is finally utilized in their network I expect a massive increase in token price.
It works. You only have the option to enter in that code once you have joined the "Store&Earn" campaign. That you do when you buy TBY for at least $3.65 worth. Then you will see the option "Referral code" were you can paste it in
If I understand this project correctly, I provide storage for other people to use and I get rewarded for this. How do I know if someone is storing any illegally content on my drive?
The stored data is private and encrypted. So, data stored on copies across nodes can not be seen or accessed. The stored data exists as many copies at the same time across several nodes on the network
the only way to really earn with them is with the referral program because you as a creator receive %50 of the earnings from your referrals. in the otherhand the referrals have to purchase more than $3000 in TBY space to become a node runner and get the full "boost" that is mentioned on the app. The amount of TBY needed increases each new node. Too late, again.
As mentioned/and shown in the video. "I recommend setting up a new metamask wallet since we will be sharing our private key". So, by simply creating a new mm account, that we only use for DeNet activities, we don't need to worry

About the VPN - just buy a cheap VPS which has static IP (all of them do) and run the VPN on there.
So a node now cost $1500 usd minimum?
