Holy sh*t!!! How he still manages at his age to play that roff roll with one hand... What a technique... amazing!! I bet Thomas Lang (to me the upper best drummer) is a great fan of him...
The best snare drum rudiments I've heard - since Made in Japan - oh and don't forget the bass drum (single pedal) role he does a bit of that here. Ian Paice and Don Brewer were my biggest influences as a kid growing up in the '70's.
@@ianhinrichsendrummer2113 What is your favorite Purple and Grand Funk album? Not counting MACHINE HEAD ,mine would probably be WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE....FUNK: 3 PC..E PURBLUS FUNK...4 PC....WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND....
@@ianhinrichsendrummer2113 Well that about saids it all, Grand Funk: Caught in the act.....it pissed me off cause they cutt Brewers solo out!!....He goes into it and they spliced it and then it's ending when it's starting, I saw GRAND FUNK here in 1980......They opened for ZZ TOP...it was pure magic for me, they were just like seeing them , if I would have seen them at Shea Stadium...they laid down the LAW, BREWER, FARNER, ....MEL was not their .....Dennis ? It didn't matter as long as those 2 amigos were on stage all was great....when DON did his solo on TNUC...I was smoking a joint and Brewer jumped on the floor toms and when he said : ARE YOU WITH ME, I busted out laughing, I had forgot about that or just did not expect he would say that during his solo , just like the first GRAND FUNK live album...they were great, I love ZZ TOP , but this night GRAND FUNK laid it down and it was probably the only time seeing ZZ TOP that I kind of had a hard time getting into them , seen them like 9-10 times and they were awesome every time, I really enjoyed seeing them in 76 for the first time on the TEJAS tour, STYX opened up and they had just got TOMMY SHAW, and CRYSTAL BALL had just came out.....that was an awesome damn show, plus to me ZZ TOP'S First 5 albums just absolutely KILLED, I like FRANK BEARD back then alot too...
