I’m assuming you could use the surgeons loop above a tippet ring as well?
We checked with Simon and he says he has never tried that, but wishes he had, as that makes so much sense - thanks.
I've heard form a guide on the san juan that they do not tie the dropper from the hook, but they just tie two lines through the eye because the small #20 nymph hooks bend on large trout.
That's a good idea too...
