  • It seems like longtime Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson will be leaving the only team he's ever played for this offseason, and the Mavs are a leading contender for his services. Is he the missing piece that this team needs to take down a team like Boston? Or is he an aging star whose contract might age poorly?

    Klay isn't the player he once was, and Klay on a 40mil contract... no thank you. A pissed off Klay Thompson with something to prove on a 17.5 mil contract, I am 100% on board. Send Josh Green to the Warriors in a sign & trade. 3point snipers are always in high demand, and we were in great need of a legit 3rd scorer.
    Guards - Luka, Kyrie, & Hardy
    2/3 Combo Players - Klay, Grimes, Exum
    Forwards - Naji, PJ, & Kleber
    Centers - Lively, Gaff, & Powell

      Now if we could flip Powell and Kleber with some stretch big, that’d really look like a contender.

    Now with out DJJ, yes.
    KT, Grimes and Marshall rotations would be a major upgrade for the Mavs
    Addresses D, match up and depth issues and scoring

      Not really, Klay's has dropped like a rock in the last two years, missing threes on a consistent basis. Klay has been replaced my Kaminga in starter minutes because he can't play both ends of the floor. And losing Derek Jones WAS a huge loss to the team. No wonder Dallas got KILLED by the Celtics and that team is keeping ALL of it's players next season. Nobody can stop the Celtics.

    Here the things these guys aren’t thinking about. Teams will have to respect Klay behind the arc regardless! With that, those are less defenders to guard Kyrie, Luka or PJ or the center!

    No THJ no DJJ I’d say why scoff at 38-40% 3 point shooting and free throw making in a 4 time champion 3rd scoring option.

    Klay's above the break 3 shooting is just what Mavs need. Klay would thrive with the looks Luka provides.

    Choppy is right. I'd rather save josh green for something better than Klay at this point in his career. Definitely not josh, maxi and picks

    It ain’t less fr when looking at the differences in 20m with California state tax versus 16m no state tax in Texas

      @Aggie4life77 2 місяці тому +1

      It’s roughly 3 million difference just off the state tax. If he actually sell his house in SF and buy one in Texas, he Gaines so much more if he gets similar size house.

    Luka fans will still come up with all kinds of excuses if they lose with Klay, a top 5 shooter of all time who’s still a 40% shooter from 3. Klay gonna get annoyed with having to just stand outside to space the floor for Luka, and then when it doesn’t work for Luka like it didn’t work against the Celtics, he’s gonna suddenly ask for “help” when all year they played one way, with Luka playing ball hog basketball running pick and roll or ISO every single time.

      And fyi if you actually watched the games which it's clear you didn't Luka had absolutely no help in the FINALS. And don't even think about using that space the floor crap because Luka stay spreading the ball to other players but when he needs them to knock down those shots they miss or brick. And they were all getting open looks but nobody could hit their shots. Pj Washington, Josh Green, Tim Hardaway Jr, Derrick Jones Jr, and even Kyrie Irving was missing badly. So shut up with the Luka fans excuses crap

      @@jamesrougely9519 Nah, you're acting like he was creating shots and they just weren't making them, but that's not true at all. He had 9.6 potential assists/g in the Finals, that's very low for someone who's running pick and rolls that much and has the ball in his hands that much. For reference, during the regular season, he was "creating" 16.9 potential assists/g. His teammates were converting those at 58.3%, which is actually a higher rate than what happened all season, which was at 57.9%. That's why he only averaged 5.6 asts/g in the Finals, not because he was "creating" a ton and his teammates just weren't knocking down the shots.
      The reason for his very low "creating" was because Boston mostly played him straight up and stayed at home with everyone else, which means they felt he's not good enough as a 1 on 1 scorer against them.

    • @back2back379
      @back2back379 2 місяці тому

      @@jamesrougely9519 FYI, that 58.3% conversion mark on potential assists Luka got from his teammates in the Finals is higher than what Jokic (56.1%), Haliburton (56.6%), SGA (47.8%), Jaylen Brown (48.5%) had in the playoffs. Again, you can't completely dominate the ball all season just running pick and rolls all the time, and then suddenly expect others to "help" when you forced the entire team to play that way all year. How are you going to run pick and rolls so much all season that you're "creating" 16.9 potential assists/g, and then have that drop by nearly half in the Finals and suddenly expect your teammates to be the ones creating all those potential assists? So you're gonna run spread pick and roll for yourself like that all year, and then expect your team to suddenly transition to Motion Offense or the Triangle and "help" you? Especially when you yourself do hardly anything off the ball?
