Great video!! Question; did you employ the volume hack AND the mixer to achieve your desired results or is it a one or the other as a solution? I would also be interested in how you have your mixer wired up. As is, I can see no way how the Strike Pro SE setup would cut it in a live performance with such low volume. Thanks
Legendary low volume problems with ALL Alesis devices ! I have an old Alesis with the same problem. The volume is garbage. I saw a live show last night where the roadies spent 20 minutes trying to determine if their Alesis unit was producing any sound at all. They appear to have fixed it. During the show, the Alesis volume was 10x quieter than the real drums. Alesis killed the volume knob. Fail. Please don't tell me I used the wrong jack, I'm an engineer. It's not me, it's Aelsis.
Worked for me! Do you know how to boost the auxiliary volume when playing along with other music? I got the kit volume up with your method but I have my iPhone plugged into the aux input in the back and have the knobs maxed out but still quiet.
Been a long time fan of yours man I went the AtV route but thinking of picking up a strike for more inputs can you load vst sounds in the module like 2box internally , and what made you pick the strike over 2 box and is the triggering as good or better than 2 box ?
Does having the custom bass skin and porthole effect the bass drum sound in anyway? Was told they weren't compatible, but I've seen more than 1 custom bass front skin, so .... really would value your input please?
Hmm honestly I've never not had the port so I can't really say. I put it there when I built the drum sorry man. If anything I think it would make the sound not sustain as much since the port takes part of the head out. At least that's what happens when it's being used as acoustic. Volume wise I don't think it would change anything.
I bought a new snare from the UK, its fantastic 14"×5" e snare and I have the strike module. I can't seem to get the rim to crossstick, can you help , please?
The HiHat reset I really like. The HiHat pedal curve selection is missing one of the curves which is the one that would make it work good on my setup in 1.5 so I just decided to revert. Still happy tho!
Of course! Single one shot samples or multi layer. Just enter whatever .wav into the strike Editor and it will create the instrument upon saving and you can play it like normal.
Whats probable cause all the sudden my kick is very unresponsive (before I changed anything) I have to really hit it hard to even hear, are the triggers known to be flaky?
Love all your videos and drum kits. Thanks so much for all the the superb information. I do have a question about the mixer. Which inputs would I use for the Alesis Strike drum module? Also have an ipad with MP3’s in which to practice. Which inputs would the ipad go to? Overall could you just explain on the this video what all the connections are on your mixer? It would help me as my kit sounds great through the headphones but is a bit too mid-range when going through the Alesis speakers. So I’m considering purchasing one of these mixers in order to eq the output to the speakers. Thank you very much in advance for the reply.

Pretty new to your channel, did you make a hybrid kit with the strike triggers? Or are you just using the strike module?

I actually prefer v1.3 for the HiHat reset which was removed in v1.5.
When i had the low volume issue, it was an internal capacitor that was damaged by the power supply. This was in 2017 though, with an early module
I think this has happened to me as well. Was hoping this would fix it, but no luck. Did you send it back to alesis?

It's for each user kit if you want to boost the volume. Same with any other volume adjustment per pad.
