Patriot Front Nazis Tied To Springfield, IL Hate Crime - 11/14/21

Members of the neo-nazi group Patriot Front defaced a rainbow mural at The Phoenix Center, a LGBTQ+ youth center and public health/harm reduction resource in Springfield, IL, shortly after midnight on November 14, 2021.

Patriot Front members Mitchell Wagner ('Kyle MO'), Logan Plank ('Clarke MO') and Garret Garland ('Randolph IL') physically carried out the act while two other members - Daniel Springer ('Sam MN') and Luke Paule (Patriot Front Network 12 Director 'ND - Carter MO') helped as lookouts and drivers.
Comments caught on leaked video after the men defaced the youth center make it clear they intended the act as a hate crime to intimidate young people targeted by Patriot Front because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. According to recorded discussions, Garret Garland ('Randolph IL') first selected the youth center as a nazi vandalism target.
