Here I am, 23 years old & still thinking about this film. It has been stuck in my head for my entire childhood, & it still gets to me like no other film has.
This is the most romantic and sweetest song ever. When I first heard this song I instantly fell in love with this film. The animation, the songs, the characters and, most importantly, the romance, everything about it is sheer perfection. Growing up Zoey was my childhood crush and I'm glad that my girlfriend is just like her in every possible way.
I love this film a lot more than the Rankin/Bass version, and that's saying something because I grew up with that version for all of my childhood. I really think Rudolph & Zoey have better development than with Clarice in the original, especially since unlike her, Rudolph and Zoey grew up together and had decent development. And while I do have a few small issues with the film, like with Stormela's motivation being a bit weak, I still really enjoyed this film, and I wish a lot more people could appreciate it as much as I do...
I used to watch this movie every year around Christmas time when I was a little kid - and I've been wanting to hear this song again for years. I'm an adult now, and I still love this song and the movie. I wish my grandmother hadn't given my VHS copy away without telling me. In any case, thank you RudolphBTS! You've given me back a childhood memory that I thought was lost forever!!!
It wasn't just me? o.o I always felt really attracted to him in this movie. The Rudolph in this movie is the best rendition ever. The whole story is awesome, and you really feel for how he was treated during his upbringing.
Okay,. I'm 31, a guy, got the DVD 2 days before Easter, watched it with my parents that evening, and even after all the reviews I'd seen beforehand, this song STILL makes me wanna cry!
Although the stop motion Rudolph is better in terms of it's narrative, I still find this movie to be a guilty pleasure of mine and honestly enjoy it much more than the classic. lol Now that I think about it, the one thing this movie does better than the stop motion classic is how they develop Rudolph's relationship with Zoey versus Clarice. Yes, it goes counter to the overall message of Rudolph's story that it seems as if Zoey immediately accepts him from the moment they are first shown together, but it is implied that the two met a while before that point, given that Zoey already knew Rudolph by name before he was laughed at by the other yearlings. With Clarice, she accepted him immediately, only knowing him for about all of 10 mins. What makes this worse is that Rudolph and Clarice don't interact at all up until he comes to save her from the Bumble. With Rudolph and Zoey, they grow up together as friends and builds up to the relationship they have at the end. From the Christmas Eve launch when they were yearlings, to the Reindeer Games, to this song, from Zoey searching for Rudolph, and then Rudolph trying to save Zoey. I can just believe their relationship much more. And yes, I put a little too much thought into this. XD
< he one thing this movie does better than the stop motion classic is how they develop Rudolph's relationship with Zoey versus Clarice. For me personally, even though the Rankin/Bass version was a product of its time, I feel that the Good Times version fixed all the [comparative] problems. *e.g., Donner's sexism and Santa being dismissive of Rudolph.*
I also like how this version shows Zoey getting kidnapped, as oppose to the Rankin Bass version where we don’t know how Clarice was kidnapped by the Abombinal.
A Timeless Classic Christmas tale, Hopefully this song Will be cherished along with the movie. If anyone for any reason Dosen't like this Song or What inspired it. Well I'd say that's their Problem to deal with , they have their Tastes We have ours never let anyone take away anything that makes you happy.
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 You said it! In my opinion, this is GoodTimes Entertainment’s best movie they published, and I’m glad they tried something new instead of being a knock off of the Rankin Bass version.
I was just like you as well. Nobody wanted me due to my feminine appearance then by the time I started high school I became somebody important and have amassed a group of friends who respect me and a gf who loves me for who I am. This song helped me become the type of person I am now and will continue to be for many years to come.
Used to watch this movie every Christmas. Don’t know what happened but I stopped about 10 years ago; have been trying to find a copy of it for a few years now. Finally got a vhs tape of it again, hopefully will come across a dvd eventually. Love this movie to my core, even more special than the original to me.
I own the movie and this is my favorite song in the entire movie. XD I watched it when I was younger and have watched it a couple of times during this holiday. :)
I loved this movie as a child. I actually found the video tape and got out the vcr for the first time in years sometime recently and got to watch it again on there. It really brings back memories ♡

I don't care what anyone says, I love this film and the characters (even the villains and parents). I also think an anime remake of this film by studio Orange (who also made Beastars) would work.
It's great to see Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes reunited to do this song, their previous work they did was (I've Had) The Time of my Life from the 1987 film Dirty Dancing.

This is the most beautiful and romantic song I've ever heard It is like Michael Jackson's song I Just Can't Stop Loving You as both are sweet and romantic and you can feel how much emotion is put into this song Overall great song
I went to the Salvation Army looking for a VHS tape for my VCR that I still have hooked with my PS1 and N64. I searched and the whole stopped when... Is it.. No... It is. Its You!! Payed 89¢ for it and ran home. I'm gonna watch it tomorrow morning. This movies' the best... My Christmas childhood right here..
This song when I look back on it. Makes me tear up. I went through the same thing Rudolph had to. My girlfriend is like Zoey and while I didn't run away (even though I always had that thought) I'd imagine she'd be just as worried as Zoey was.
Rudolph has been my best friend ever since I was 5 years old. It’s a long story. I watched the Rudolph special on video tape in 1997. When I saw him it was love at first sight. When his father covered his nose with mud Rudolph seemed troubled and turned to me. And wev’e been friends ever since. Now that I have Teddy Ruxpin and Rudolph together I think things will be easier.

Happy 20th Anniversary, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie!
Rudolph:
I’m out here on my own to face the day alone
I need you, to get me through the night…
Lost out in the cold I want someone to hold
I feel your near though you’re out of sight
Rudolph:
Even though we’re far apart
Searched the moonlit sky
I wish to be home with you
Can’t you hear me cry?
Rudolph:
Show me the light, someone to lead and guide me
Show me the light, a love to stand beside me
Show me the light, when I fear the dark
A ray of sunshine, a rainbow’s arc
Show me the light
Zoey:
I’m reaching for a star, wandering where you are
Where is the love searching for me too?
Oh, beyond the mountain top
The dream will never stop
Give me a sign, I’m running out of time..
Rudolph:
And I know someone is on their knees
Both:
Praying for me now
Both:
Won’t you come and hear me pleas?
Rudolph:
Oh, save me somehow
Zoey:
(How..)
Zoey:
Show me the light, someone to lead and guide me
Show me the light, a love to stand beside me
Both:
Show me the light, when I fear the dark
Rudolph:
A ray of sunshine,
Zoey:
a rainbow’s arc
Rudolph:
Show me the light…
(Where are you Zoey?)
Both:
show me the light…

Rudolph went through puberty and aged up ten years just so his voice would sound right for this love ballad, and it was totally worth it.
