  • If you've imported a physical IC card like Suica or Icoca into your iPhone, it means you probably don't have a MasterCard or Amex linked to your Apple Wallet. So, how can you charge it? Easy! With Japanese cash at 7-11 ATMs, JR train stations and most Japanese convenience stores. This video by Mike Rogers of Slowsteading explains how.

Great tips. I had problems trying to charge my virtual suica outside of Tokyo. Most metro stations do not have IC readers for phones. and it is impossible to charge your virtual suica at these stations. The only way to charge your virtual suica is at convenience stores, but I always asked the cashier. I didn't know that they can be loaded into ATMs at 7 banks.
    Thank you.

You can charge your virtual SUICA using a credit card on your apple wallet. I just tried it and works great.
