KINDS OF KINDNESS - The Popcorn Junkies Movie Review (SPOILERS)

Kinds of Kindness is a 2024 absurdist black comedy anthology film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos from a screenplay he co-wrote with Efthimis Filippou. The film stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
Kinds of Kindness had its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2024, where Plemons won the Best Actor award. It was released theatrically in the United States by Searchlight Pictures on June 21, 2024, and in Ireland and the United Kingdom on June 28, 2024. The film received generally positive reviews and has grossed $1.7 million worldwide.

I mostly agree with both of your opinion on the film. I think the word you after at the end was "obfuscate", which is what that film should have been called, Kinds of Obfuscation. It was purposely obtuse and frustrating to understand, especially the last story. It was like David Lynch and Lars Von Trier fused together and not quite working.

After the third story everything just washed over me! I had lost Patience by then and that unpleasant scene that happened in the 3rd story I thought yorgos went about it all wrong!
This is not the next poor things far from it but it’s gettin this big role out and Yh just was not a fan!
Performances were great of course especially dafeo but on a whole yorgos was just deliberately obscure like I know you could’ve told those stories so much better and it just felt like the hottest actors got together and filmed some scenes n ideas without any cohesiveness, a film of 3 first acts
