  • Dive into the quest of not only Vedanta, but all of spirituality. What is real happiness? How to we truly overcome suffering? Learn through Jnana Yoga (the yogic path of knowledge), delving deep into the ancient roots of self-enquiry.
This satsang series on the Drig Drisya Viveka is taught by Swami Sarvapriyananda, with humor, depth, and wisdom. The Drig Drisya Viveka is an Advaita Vedanta text attributed to Bharati Tirtha, containing 46 slokas of inquiry into the distinction between the “seer” and the “seen.” It will show you the major underlying principle of Vedantic philosophy and help you explore the inner workings of your own mind.
Swami Sarvapriyananda is the minister and spiritual leader of the Vedanta Society of New York. He joined the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in 1994, received sannyas ten years later, and served in the Hollywood Temple. He was the acharya of the monastic probationers’ training center at Belur Math, and also served as the vice principal of the Deoghar Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. He regularly gives retreats and spiritual talks throughout the United States.

All changes are objects which do not effect witness consciousness at all, they shine in the consciousness, let it come, let it be, let it go.
Instead of trying to be detached see i am experiencing means i am.. see the existence

    Respect for Swami ji.
Very very nice explanation of spirituality.
Very often a question is asked " how an ordinary people can start it's spiritual journey"...in my opinion answer should be " to start thinking".
Start thinking means to think why we tell lie, why we do "show off", why we are jealous... Thinking on questions like this and correcting these demerits will make us better human being. Then we can start spiritual journey.

Show me a self and a universe independent of the mind and its five sense organs. Show me a mind and self independent of pranic vibrations. Show me pranic vibrations independent of consciousness. It is consciousness vs consciousness.
Show me a constant subsequent independent of a constant existent.
Inconstant subsequent is the constant existent in a pretentious posture.

How do you focus on the awareness?
    Obviously with mind support only
Hence mind is playing a role. If so, how to stay aware?
Moreover, swamiji says drop the thought/text, which means mind is engaged . How do you drop thought ? It looks like lifting your own body yourself.
Unless mind is quite by atma vichara as recommended by bhagavan Sri Ramana maharishi, there is no other way to reach self
