Ok this may be a dumb question but how does the software "know" what's behind the object you're erasing? Does it extrapolate based on the surroundings? If so I can see how that's work well in natural settings but not as well for manmade environments...
I wondered the same thing. But I think it takes another section of the photo that matches color wise and erases the object. I was surprised it did it here. Tbh, it's really impressive.
I did get to play with it untethered. The Google rep was in store and had them available to mess with. The 6 definitely feels less impressive in hand but there is no photo or speed difference. Overtime depending on how long you use your phone the 6 pro might be worth it.
@@thorntech you're saying the 6 feels less impressive in hand compared to the 6 pro? Yeah I've been thinking about the 6 or 6 pro as my next device, trying to decide if that price gap is worth it...
I'd like to see you put some fingers in the picture and then erase those to see if it "knows" what is behind your fingers and fixes it or if it's just like the "healing" tool in Snapseed/Photoshop.
Trully a Yezhov moment
Can I erase my bad memories?
😂😂😂
It's worth a shot! Lol
That's why they created alcohol.

It's definitely in your Google photos app. Go to edit on the photo, and it's in the tools section.
Stalin would love this.
You should post this on Reddit

Samsung has had this same thing for some time. It's called Object Eraser instead of magic eraser
Yes, I've had it for months, but the most of the times, I get poor results.
