In US news and current events today, Ryan Reynolds and other Canadian celebrities are poking fun at celebs for making COVID-19 all about themselves. Reynolds, Rogen, and Barachel’s matter-of-fact messages come on the heels of many celebrities catching heat for posting arguably tone deaf videos of their lives in self-isolation without noting the impacts the pandemic has had on average citizens. Gal Gadot and other celebrities put together a video singing from self-isolation that quickly went viral. Many people on social media criticized the video as being out of touch with the severity of the pandemic. Instead calling on celebrities to use their wealth to help those suffering. But Reynolds’ messaging is a celeb PSA we can all get behind.

Ryan Reynolds has always seemed he hasnt been hugely transformed by Hollywood. Good for him.
Name an actor as good looking as him who has been swept by Hollywood. Keep in mind that there's only some 20-30 proper A List actors
He transformed Hollywood instead.
He also pushed REALLY hard for getting the roles he got. He set everything up to play deadpool for the passion of it.
His wife was shooting a film in Ireland. While she worked, he was seen going about doing the parenting duties. Very talented and amusing actor but appears to still have his feet firmily on the ground.
Its because hes a teue blood canadian

@Camp Blanchard I'd let him puke on me.
@co122189 English please.
I think the worst part is that the singing celebs think they're doing a service and uplifting the people through their song. At least Reynolds isn't afraid to call them out on it.
Daily labourers can't find money so they come to doorsteps to beg for some food. Some families have been starving for 2 days by the time the struggling grocery stores manage to get food supplies distributed. People literally have no money to buy food with or pay rent with. My heart goes out to the low-income families and daily workers who have no money and are under tremendous pressure right now
Goodness. And the stress. My wife and I are on paid administrative leave, so we can tag team homeschooling the kids. But what if we had no income, no security for the bills, didn't know how to teach our kids the way that kids are being taught in schools today, didn't have the resources to remain educated on what is available for them. I had no idea that the only meals that many of the children at my kids' school had to eat, were the free breakfasts and lunches that they received at school. That was heartbreaking. The school system allows them to pick up lunches so that they can have at least one meal, and there are food banks in various locations, but many people do not have transportation. Stress lowers the immune system. Hypertension is a preexisting condition that causes high risk in infected individuals. I really hope the $2 trillion is more comprehensive than just a single distribution of a tiered stimulus check.
And in the midst of a global pandemic they sing a song telling everyone that there's no hope.
@@doom4067 exactly.
DOOM Imagine is one of the most hopeful songs ever written, unless you are a money worshiping cult member who fears anyone different than yourself
@@magneto44 a lot of people believe in the Creator, and in an afterlife in heaven where they will be reunited with loved ones when they die. It is an ancient concept; a place where many of the world's religions meet. Imagine takes that concept and says, today is the best you're gonna get. That isn't comforting. That isn't hopeful. That is terribly out of touch.
I keep hearing people saying "We're all in the same boat." Unfortunately, that's not true. It's more like the Titanic disaster. Those in first class, get in the first life rafts - some of which are deployed in the water with only a small family and a couple of bachelors (a travesty as, from the beginning, there already weren't enough rafts the number of passengers they had.) Some are less comfortable, squishing into completely packed life rafts - but still, they got in a boat.
But some of us are ending up in the water, fighting for our lives. The Carpathia will still reach some of those who are just clinging to the debris - but that water is cold enough to create icebergs, so that means some of us - too many of us - will die.
The thing is, some of us can afford "celebrity- level" medical treatment, some of us have average insurance - and some of us wait way too late to call for an ambulance because we've been laid off and have no clue how we're going to pay the utility bill, let alone anything "extra."
A TV anchor said it perfectly the other day - "We're all in the same storm - but we are definitely in different boats."
@@stevenbrock528 absolutely; I definitely agree with you. No one is safe from this virus. We all matter equally, and all equally deserve the basic right of healthcare. What bothers me is that, as always, for those who most need help - the poor and the needy among us - help is often out of reach. Just as celebrities are as much at risk, so too, are those in impoverished neighborhoods. The difference is, one can be seen by a doctor and one can't. One will be grieved by a nation if they lose their life - and the other will quietly pass away without any fanfare. All lives are precious; we all matter. But to suggest that celebrities have it just as bad as those who have to work in a meat-packing plant just to keep the lights on is simply not correct. Again - same storm, but very different boats.
@@pamelaputerbaugh3161 Not to mention that celebrities are less likely to catch the virus in the first place. They don't have to wait in line at the grocery store, they don't have to go to work despite an underlying condition. They can hang out at home, have other people take those risks for them. They are completely shut off from the infected masses, whereas a healthy poor person doesn't have a choice but to expose themselves to the virus. Sure, *if* they catch it, it's just as likely to kill them, but they're wayyyy less likely to be exposed to it than we are.
@@stevenbrock528 Actually celebrities can literally just buy ventilators for themselves. Something that some hospitals are running short on.
Despite this truth, if any of them get sick, they will without a doubt get better treatment than a healthcare worker who gets sick.
True, however someone paying tens of thousands for their healthcare should get that kind of care. That doesn't exclude that everyone else should get good basic care too.
Why complain? Most Americans don't want a social healthcare system like France. These are the consequences of capitalistic healthcare.
@@coppersulphate002. Most Americans actually do want universal healthcare reform. But the US is a flawed democracy where the actions of the government do not align with the wishes of the people

@@kristoffersparegodt420 from what I gathered so far, you guys want the benefits of a more social system, like universal healthcare, but without the changes and costs they would incur. There is some extra regulation that comes with it and extra taxes and some redistribution of wealth and I guess that's where it hurts.

They should of done some charity activity if they want to be more relevant during this time of era. I mean, look at Taylor Swift. She's helping people out, that's why and how she'll stay relevant forever.
Some of those celebs were feeling it. I wish I was that rich and our of touch.
My ears exploded when they started singing wtf
I've definitely been visited by some old imaginary friends. They're pretty upset with me for neglecting them for so long... But we're working out the kinks in our relationship :)
Oh you all make me so so proud. And what makes me even happier. It that you tell all you are canadian. As a Canadian you make me so so proud
Ryan reynolds is GREAT!!!!!!!!!
And generous. Donating a cool million to replete the stock in foodbanks helping families EAT...
That certainly is more valuable than being sung to. 😏😉
Yes he is. I love him. All day, every day.
@michael murillo why don't Disney/marvel do that ? Hmm are they singing?
I wish my house was big. Getting fed up with the living room.
This is the best time to do garden work.

I always thought Ryan Reynolds was awesome now he seems to be one of the only celebrities that I can actually respect thanks Ryan
Ryan Reynolds has the right idea. Celebs stay at home.
Ryan Reynolds: noooo dont cut my head off I’m a good celebrity
❤️❤️ thumbs up to a humble straight forward man , Ryan Reynolds
Poking fun at other celebrities while still making sure to get some attention for themselves. Perfect.

There’s plenty of unlikable Canadians. Justin Bieber, Ted Cruz, ect
Canadians and Americans aren't as culturally removed as they like to imagine they are.
@@nettoyagedelamaison9557 I'm sure that Ted Cruz being a Canadian is an accident and a cruel joke of Fate on us Canucks. We do apologize for Justin Bieber though, sorry... so sorry...
I’m upset for people care about celebrities, singers and rich people.
People don’t care about thousands people died by covid 19.
What’s wrong with people? I really don’t care celebrities!
Yeah I don't really care about covid 19 deaths. That's biology. If the virus gonna kill you, it's gonna kill you. People only care because it affects them personally, lol. I care more about all the other deaths going on, like airstrikes. Those are 100% intentional.
Ping Pong Players really got me :D:D:D
"Where is Ja? I need to hear what Ja Rule has to say about this?"
Help me ja rule! 😂
Ja was murdered by 50.
Yeah, celebs seeking attentions in many ways, cause they couldn't go out so people can see them.
What did you expect from celebrities, they are used to being in the limelight
When you compare Canada to America during this quarantine. The situation is-😂😂😂
Love this! Not consumed with his celebrity! I live paycheck to paycheck... respect! Bless you & your family for your generosity!!
Someone had to say it!
