    Hey great idea, I was looking for someone who had this idea too. I have a few suggestions for how to make this work better.
    1) Since these come in packages of two, you could attach two top to bottom, with one facing the opposite direction. This would let you have twice the slide length, and you wouldn't have to turn around your camera or move the whole setup whenever you wanted to slide backwards/the other direction.
    2) Once both are attached to each other, you could (a) attach a block of wood on the bottom at the center point and tap a 1/4" threaded hole in it. Since that is the same diameter hole as a camera usually has, you could now attach this to a tripod (though it may need to be a heavier duty videography tripod vs a light one for photography as these rails are pretty heavy).
    3) Once all this is done you could, instead of mounting the camera directly, put a 1/4" flat based ball head or even a standard flat based tripod head to it, allowing the camera to be level while the rail is nearly vertical allowing some pretty crazy shots😀
