Knowing the cars that Parker has driven and owned, and hearing him say that the TLX Type-S was pretty good, lets me know that a lot of Reviewers aren’t being realistic when it comes to this car. This isn’t a Type-R, it’s supposed to be a reliable, sporty, and comfortable daily commuter.
That's exactly it. I have the 4 cylinder A-Spec version of this car and it's a fantastic A to B vehicle that isn't a snooze to drive. It's a well-rounded car and long-term, I think it'll age well.
The biggest critiques of this car isn’t performance, it’s everything else. Abysmal interior space, wonky infotainment, and horrible fuel economy. Most of all, you’re not getting any better performance for those sacrifices so as a whole package, there’s a lot of downsides to swallow compared to an m340i which is what? High maintenance costs? It’s nothing people don’t already know
@@chhoyla You'll spend WAY more for a comparable 340i. In my opinion, interior space is fine...its ya'll are just too damn big, lol. Fuel economy can definitely improve, and I personally hate the push-bottom gear selector...that should not be a feature in any car, much less a sporty one. If Honda/Acura adopts the interior similar to the current Accord but more upscale, add 30 more hp, offer adaptive suspension, it would be more compelling.
@@chigasaki06 Way more? Look at the segment you’re in buddy, it’s not price sensitive. People will spend more if there’s real value to be had. If a TLX is barely affordable, it may be wise to get just an Accord. Interior space isn’t about driver space, it’s cargo space, so not sure how anyone can be too big for that.
I've heard/watched/read nothing but pretty positive reviews of the Type-S so not sure what you're referring to of other reviewers not being realistic. The most negative one I watched recently was from someone (don't even remember his name or channel) that was critical of the steering, like annoying critical repeatedly (of course his car didn't have the optional summer tires/copper wheel option). He also made a comment about the acceleration not being on par with an M3 or M5...well, duh. It's not meant to be.
Vehicle Virgins Awesome POV Drive Review I think that Acura TLX Type S looks absolutely gorgeous inside and out and sounds pretty cool and I can't wait to see the full review
I absolutely LOATHE touchscreens in a car. I prefer a knob. My last two cars have had touchscreens and you can truly only operate it when parked or at a stop. And don't even get me started on the fingerprints on the screen.
@@drivescene6747 it got an infotainment upgrade and a revised throttle map in Sport mode so it would tip in quicker and not be as jerky on/off throttle
Why so much back and forth steering correction @ 50 miles.?. it looks scary. as if it is going out of control?. It should be a steady progressive steering. the car jumps and wiggles too much on curves ?
Yes, but if you noticed, it was responsive from the start. If you played around with different infotainments, its quite often where they start quick, but are laggy to use in the first 10 seconds.
@@nexusly6720 you’re preaching to the choir, I totally agree. I used to own Acura’s but now only BMW. The difference in the infotainment system and technology is night and day.

Great review. I love my 23 TLX Type S.
It does have launch control. Sport+ S mode. Brake to floor gas to floor.
I own a 21, and just by the way it’s shifting it the 24 model seems way more smoother.
Hey Parker, we would love to see you review a 2024 Genesis G70 sport prestige the 3.3 V6 awd model.
Does the car not have launch control or is it deactivated in the test moddel?

Poor grasshopper, at 40 seconds jumping out of the grill
I’m sure it’s just like driving a 2023 X Type S
I’m sure all cars are the same why buy the new one

That loading screen was absolutely slow as hell is it running a raspberry pi?

Because it has an unnecessary animation they want you to see before the screen starts.
@Rockito912 honda cheap on chips and software imo all their infotainment past 5 years are dull and not intuitive

Last time I had a touch pad, I was logging into MySpace back in 2004. Gotta find that book, “Touchpads for Dummies”. Classic book from the 90’s.

this, or the Genesis G70 3.3T?
The steering seems to lack incisiveness by the look of it 🤔
wrong
It’s incredibly sharp.

No you weren't
Foot on brake and full throttle. Launch control.
Wow nice car
The front ia missing fog lights. It just seems too plane
Looks better than bmw 😂
