    About 3 months ago I had a nuclear stress test .. with the chemical push rather then the treadmill. My results were that I was fine and there were no problems detected. A week later on climbing stairs because of a broken elevator I near had a heart attack .. told this to my cardio Dr and he decided to run a heart cath .. results? I am scheduled in a few days for a triple bypass .. I was 80% blocked and it wasn't detected.

      Was the heart cath painful or stressful for you?🤔 I had a mixed review of my nuclear stress test. I did the treadmill though. My doc said he saw a slight darkening at the bottom of my heart on some of the scans? He said he was not overly concerned and was ordering no further tests for now, and that the darkening could just be shadows cast off from my abdomen? Hmmm? I just turned 69 years old yesterday, and am a cancer survivor of stage 3 triple negative breast cancer. My cancer is in full remission BUT it came at a cost! The toxic chemo used to kill the cancer came very close to killing me!... and I'm sure has heavily contributed to my AFib issues!😓

    Just a follow up from 6 months ago, on 8/29/23, I had double bypass surgery after a full cath showed 80 t0 90% blockage in two main arteries, the LAD was one of them. A 209 calcium which in some peoples opinion is not that bad, led to double bypass. Any calcium score above 1 means you have plaque, how much soft plaque is what you need to find out asap.

    I had a stress test with contrast, everything was fine (heart rate up to 150, breathing fine, no chest issues) until the last contrast shot. Had severe headache & my BP increase to 190/(?). It took 2 sprays of nitrous and a shot of meds (?) to bring it down. Few minutes later, I feel a slight headache, no dizziness, no chest issues, breathing fine.

      Maybe the whole thing is a gimmick to sell expensive drugs and machines to hospitals to treat people that have been on a SAD their whole life. SAD: Sad American Diet. Cholesterol is used by your body to heal itself - it is not the cause of the problem.
      Think about the 5 pillars of health:
      1) Good and healthy relationships with friends, family and people you meet.
      2) Manage and reduce stress were ever possible. Meditation is a good tool.
      3) Strive to get 8 hours of sleep
      4) Get moderate exercise 5 to 6 days a week. Get your pulse rate up now and then
      5) For God sacks eat real food. , and stay hydrated. Cut way back on refined sugar and the processed carbohydrates - to zero would be best! Never ever eat, or eat any foods that contain refined oils. These oils are: Cotton seed, corn, sunflower, vegetable, peanut, canola, soy and safflower.
      Health hacks:
      Intermittent Fasting, cold showers, not warm but hot showers, meditation and breath work.
      Supplement with probiotics and Zinc, D3, and Magnesium and Sun light. To the degree you eat healthy determine the level of supplementation required for optimum health and a robust immune system.
      A robust immune system might be a good thing to have these days!

    2 weeks ago I had the echo cardio gram and treadmill test because I was feeling some chest pain and other symptoms. Cardiology called and informed me that my results showed some abnormality but did not specify. They said they could perform further testing i.e. an angiogram if I’m still experiencing chest pain and I choose to do so. The results were sent to my PCP. He told me that the test showed cardio hypokinesia/hypokinesis. I’m not sure if I should feel worried or not worried, although he said he wouldn’t have that type of further testing performed.🙏 Opinions appreciated. Thank you.

    I felt GREAT After my stress test but my doctor said my blood pressure was high right after So, he did the wire through my wrist thing and my arteries are OK much, i think, to his suprise especially my Widowmaker. THEN I had an echo cardiogram which was normal all the way through but now he wants me to have a TEE because he hears a click or leaky sound when he listens to me. Why the high blood pressure after my stress test when I NEVER HAD IT? What about that Princeton study suggesting high blood pressure after a stress test means you're MORE fit?

    I still get chest pain and FINALLY got to have an appointment with a cardiologist just last week (not sure why they didn't want me to see the cardiologist 2 years ago?) Nevertheless, he scheduled me for another sonogram, and he wants me to get the angiogram. I'm nervous about the angiogram?

I'm small, but have a very athletic physique, and I aced the stress test....putting out 12.5 METS over 10.5 minutes. And then my primary calls me two hours later telling me to see a cardiologist and not to exert myself or lift weights. Like I'm gonna lay in bed for the next several months? Btw, my echocardiogram was normal. I work out 6 days a week, but I'm highly anxious about what's next. I've scheduled a second opinion from a different cardiologist, but I don't expect much of a different answer. Probably either a CT angiogram or catheterization comes next. My Cardiologist put me on 10mg of statin, 81mg of Bayer, my cholesterol is only 137, blood pressure is normal. He also wants me to do a stress test, what good will this do if this test doesn't tell me or the doctor the amount of plaque/blockage, because I obviously have plaque. Wouldn't a Angiogram be more productive?

    • @ayokay123
      @ayokay123 Рік тому +1

      Fyi, there's a flip side to having calcium in the arteries. Plaque calcifies over time (calcium). Calcified plaque tends not to break off, causing a heart attack. It's the soft plaque that usually causes the problem, but guess what?.....soft plaque doesn't show up on a CT Calcium test. You can't win either way. :D

      @@ayokay123 You are 100% correct! My 209 score went down to 191 when I did a CT angiogram, however the CT angiogram showed MORE soft plaque that was not calcified. So the test results raised my score because of this soft plaque. Next up for me is a full Cath next week.

    • @ayokay123
      @ayokay123 Рік тому +1

      I'm trying to avoid the cath lab like the plague, but will probably end up there anyway. After reading a LOT of studies, I've come to the conclusion that if you're not having a heart attack, you should think very carefully before allowing a stent to be placed. Medicine and lifestyle changes have been proven to be just as effective in preventing a first heart attack as a stent, and neither substantially reduce all cause mortality. If I ultimately undergo a cath angiogram, I'll be very tempted to give instructions to not place a stent unless there's over a 90% occlusion in a major artery like the LAD. Best of luck. READ before making a decision. The cath lab is a HUGE profit center for hospitals and interventional cardiologists are always eager to stent instead of going the medicine route. @@danc3746

      @@ayokay123 I completely understand, but I am not so sure I want to "wait" for a heart attack in order to do a cath and stent. I may not make it out of round one. My cardio told me, and I have also read that they will not stent unless its 70% or more blockage. At this point after a CT Score test (209), Nuke Stress test (passed), and now this CT Angiogram test result reporting a significant soft plaque finding, I rather not live on a prayer and a "maybe", I would rather them do the cath to finally see what is really going on in there. If I need a stent then so be it. I rather not take a chance on a lifestyle change and diet. I know many people with stents and all are fine. I rather not take any chances, but I totally understand your concerns.

      Trust me, I understand the fear and anxiety of not knowing what's going on in the arteries and wanting to address it BEFORE heart muscle damage (or death) from a heart attack occurs. We both GET IT. A complicating factor I failed to mention before is that I also have chronic kidney disease with only 50% function. This presents a twofold fear: 1) having to be on medication for the rest of my life that is toxic to the kidneys (NSAIDS like aspirin), and 2) the possibility of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) as a result of the angiogram. It's very daunting to think about the possibility of walking in for an angiogram and walking out having to undergo kidney dialysis for the rest of my life. I have to weigh all these things. You are quite fortunate that you don't. When you add up all my risk factors (age 65, kidney disease, stress, and sedentary lifestyle for many years), it definitely presents a cardiologist's dream. In the end, I'll probably get the angiogram. A funny thing is that if you saw me, you'd laugh at the fact that I'm as shredded as any kid who works out at the gym and have never been overweight or smoked. Well, at least my echocardiogram came back normal, which means that I don't have heart failure. Thanks God for small favors. :D @@danc3746
