Not sure how many agree with me, but im doing mvp of asia as shu, he just keeps getting better and i think hes the best in the world at the moment
Shu is a very reasonable pick
@@ATPOverwatch I agree to a certain extent, but when a new hero comes out, he falls a bit i.e 2022 play-offs, when kirkro came out, and this year with juno and since probably the Stockholm play-offs will probably be Juno Brig I’m a little concerned.
Did the same
@@Junkrat-2020 I think he may take a little longer than some to "get ahold" of a new hero, but once he does he is quite destructive on any of them honestly. I wouldn't be surprised in the playoffs if you see a noticeable uptick in his performance. He for sure does have his favorites, in Baptiste and Ana, but I can't say he is not at least in the realm of top 5 on all the other "flex support" heroes either.
Juno is literally no skill so it doesn’t matter, it’s the team that needs to play better
diddyfree, you win this time..
RIP Dennis Hawelka award and Alarm ROTY award
I still wonder what the OW competitive scene would be like if Alarm was still in it.
D0nghak and BERNAR shouts are so real. They both played so good compared to the team around them.
Backbone is too powerful to be on a alternate team
I voted for Landon as my EMEA mvp, I've been a long time london/SSG fan and Landon honestly is the reason that everything works for that team, he had so many clutch plays this year and also I just think he never gets enough credit for how much he does
True that, but I think even if things don't work for ssg, sparkr would still, and I quote from tomathan, "walk the dog and hit a casual 4k".
I felt hesitant picking him as an american because i was afraid i was being biased towards the only american in the emea region. But the more i thought about it, the more i realized he really has been the most consistent player for SSG all year. Hadi's been great but his lack of flexibility fucked them in stage 3. All 3 SSG dps has had highs and lows all season, and while sparkr looks great on cass and ashe, he ALWAYS gets diffed on widow mirrors I swear. The only downside with landon was his performance on ana in stages 1 and 3, but I personally felt he was doing his job perfectly fine and it was the lack of support from fastro's brig that was bringing them down. What do i know though LOL
I think kev carried ENCE for a lot of times although he had inconsistencies but i think that he still deserves the MVP because Sparkr did not carrie his team so much
I voted fielder. The guy is just nuts.
Not having Stalker as a MVP candidate makes me sad lol. When he's in form he's unmatched. They literally put him on the Cass over Proper and went on a winning run.
not to discredit stalker, but proper is just superior on the flex dps. Stalker did look nasty on hitscan though
With all the awards, I have to agree with you, no arguments. But I also wanna say shoutout to you and your mod team for competing earlier. Also if there was a ROTY award, definitely would vote for infekted. Dude was honestly really consistent and actually played well on a lot heroes.
Very good pick, I picked proud bc he got better over the year helping poker face finish 4 by the end. I would also give a runner up to xzodyal as he had a ton of impact for peps.
obssojourn 🐐🐐🐐
I know proud isn’t going to win mvp over lip but he was genuinely a Menace on hitscan this year. If roty was a thing this year he would have gotten my vote easily.
I wish we were able to vote for teams that didn't make it. In my opinion, I think from start to finish, regardless of meta, Bernar was the most consistent tank. He had the best orisa imo and he was top tier at everything else. Such a great player
NA: Sugarfree
EMEA: SparkR
APAC: LIP
Flex DPS: Proper
Hitscan: LIP
Flex Support: Shu
Main Support: Chorong
Tank: Junbin
love all of the SSG picks for your award (totally not biased) also here my own award best owcs featured streamer: and its ofcourse you ATP!!
I think the best main support in EMEA this year was Kellex. Even after he retired for a while after winning stage one, he absolutly came back just to also win stage three on a different team. And through all this he played very consistent.
KSAA is that guy in ranked that has the other team cooking eachother in chat
To me, it is very sad M80, as we knew them imploded. As.. when Pelican was on there, he was still quite godly in NA. :( he hasn't played much in Asia unfortunately, but yeah. Sad they bowed out and just let Toronto own everything like this
I really like the all region team awards, it’s really fun
Would give tank mvp to bernar, bro hard carried his team to a top 3 Korea finish both times.
The zarya incident
@@Johnsmith36346 We dont talk about that
PGE deserves all awards
13:30 wasn't sure about KSAA until I saw that clip. That is some crazy shit
its the Redemption from the players from last OWL and Shu after getting snubbed last year
It's impossible to not consider giving every single award to Crazy Raccoons... They've damn near perfected every position and optimize every game they play. I'm a Proper simp, but unfortunately CR are just better🤷♂️
The Backbone slander is crazy
Hear me out when I say donghak deserves tank mvp, bro had to carry a team with the only other real player being knife. Additionally he is probably top 5 doomfists rn, his jq is great and his ball is peak
You would have to get him above the likes of Bernar Hanbin Smurf someone even hadi vestola I would argue we’re better all year round
Bliss is a beast BUT still 3 players can’t make it and he is a beast nonetheless
I think this comment exemplifies why the role mvps are kind of stupid or at least poorly defined. Like should the award be treated more like MVPs (value of players relative to their team, how much they carried, etc) or Role Stars (best player at the position)? The answer really is not clear imo
@@hyp3ri6n58 I completely agree with that. I think it's a mix of how good they played and how good they are Compared to their team. That is why I think donghak should be mvp although he had some bad maps he usually played like a beast (I am silver so maybe I overestimate his skill) and he had to play in a pretty bad team in stage 4(at least In my opinion, once again I an silver)
@@badpushok no yeah i literallt voted knife for mvp lol. Like him and donghak had to carry a team with some pretty mid teammates ngl.
Man been missing owl a lot lately I still hope one day it makes a return in a more consistent sustainable format with the teams. 2021 was peak competitive ow imo
I feel that, still doesn’t feel right without it, but owcs does have good qualities with room for improvement at least.
@@ATPOverwatch I would like to see NA and EU regions together instead of the separate regions like what contenders used to do, because NA needs better competition in my opinion.
For NA i would say Sugarfree/Seeker/Someone/Rakattack/Rupal for my MVP lineup, seeker always had great performances with a worse team than Toronto, whereas Merit was shaky with a better team, and I think that Rak was just much more consistent than Vega.
support players never get enough recognition when it comes to mvp talk, landon, shu and even skai had incredible impact for their respective teams but will never get appreciated over the carry potential of dps players and dominance of tank players
I picked Quartz, he has to deal with Youbi. I feel sorry for him
For asia mvp it has to be junbin. No one came close as a tank player, in the most grueling matchups in cr vs falcons, most of the time junbin showed he was the better tank player. Heesang although amazing, wasnt better at any character except for pharah against the falcons dps duo. Junbin my boy mvp
I love Lip
Chorong or Shu was MVP this season no doubt.
I thought Infekted deserved the tank award more than someone, maybe I'm coping but eye test it seemed he was better, the start was rough maybe in comparison and he plays in worse teams but I thought sugarfree and merit pulled a rabbit out of a hat in that stage 4 finals to win that
Pge?
no way you consider kellan as a tank mvp for na but he only played 2 stages and then leave out kellex when he played 3 and won 2
Ngl a lot of ur picks have some absurd winning bias. Ultimately it’s most valuable player, not “player on the most winning team” quartz single handedly willed his team to several key wins and I can’t see how that doesn’t deserve mvp
This. I agree
I can understand your picks for DPS, although I am a Falcons fan, I gave Hitscan clearly to LIP, he had some unreal performances, but for flex-dps, I pick Proper, not because Hesang was on some heroes better, but because overall Proper could flex to so many heroes and show a great performance, maybe not the best but sometimes top3 or even number1 (especially in the Asia Grand Final, where in my opinion Hesang was on his best day and got just beaten by Proper on Genji)
No Someone for NA MVP is crazy. Toronto's whole counter swap strategy is built around Someone.
I meeeeaaan when have u seen him on "counter picks", toronto plays the meta comps better than the other na teams anyways
I have to strongly disagree with the heesang pick for mvp because when raccoons weren’t winning the other 4 players on raccoon were still elite but heesang repeatedly got fathered by proper in the recent match
Not to mention the fact that team Falcons Juno gameplay was probably a little bit better than crazy raccoons
@@danielorr352 like heesang getting outperformed by stalker and proper isn’t normal??? Did u forget how he also did the same thing to them as well also this takes into account results year round not only recent showings
I do agree but he dogged on them earlier in the year. Especially on tracer, echo and pharah. Proper diffed him on genji tho.
agree. it's not how you start it's how you finish and heesang kinda flopped on the genji vs proper
I feel like Lyar should have made the NA 2nd team. He's called white chiyo for a reason
Great video overall.
I think you under value MAX and Quartz a tiny bit however. MAX just goes crazy every map he gets while basically having 0 experience because he plays so little. Quartz I think is a way better “plug and play” dps than sparkr because I feel like he would do way better when put on other teams than spark would.
I think you could also add most improved player.
My third comment on this video: people that have not watched stalker on his stream clearly were not familiar with his hitscan game. 2nd best in the region no doubt. Still waiting for him to whip out his widow. Sorry happy
NA: Sugarfree
EMEA: Sparkr
Asia: Shu
Flex MVP: Hesang
Hitscan MVP: Stalker
Flex/Main Support: Shu - Chorong
Tank MVP: Vestola
@@espertoendino stalker only played hitscan during this final meanwhile everyone else from lip to quartz dominated all year long no way u genuinely believe that same goes for tank mvp when junbin dominated all year long let alone Bernar Hanbin Smurf someone even Donghak hadi and ksaa have arguments above vest
stalker hitscan????? what kinda drugs u on
I think it would be cool if you end up livestreaming the major to do a draft with penguin, thor and the others (i love you all im sorry I forgot your names) but you can pick any region and any player, snake draft if you want and people can vote on who wins between games like a bracket or something.
I agree with mostly everything, except i think Quartz has to be EMEA MVP he did more than Sparkr with less & MVP shouldn't be a popularity/relevancy contest.
My only other stipulation is Team 2 NA, I feel like Zeruhh should make it on there somehow. Maybe drop seeker, keep PGE so you can run a crazy HS when he's popping. But then you could run a Tree & Zeruhh double flex. Despite the lack of a Hitscan that still feels like a Top2 NA Dps.
MVPs for each
tank-junbin no contest he outplayed somone Hanbin Bernar Smurf dude was a monster and in all honesty might have the greatest single season tank performance
Hitscan-lip no contest
Flex- the toughest 10000% proper stalker or heesang all deserve even tho I don’t like him as much I think heesang should get but more than likely it’s going to proper because of glaze
Supports- Shu chorong no contest they consistently outperformed their competition all year round anyone else would be pure cope
Na mvp- I’d say mer1t Toronto without mer1t imo would’ve be as great as they were
Emea-kev was great all year never falling off while also having the major success all year round unlike players from ssg and tm
Asia- anyone from cr deserves it but imma say junbin because tank players rarely win anything
Appreciate you sharing your opinions! In a lot of senses I definitely agree with you but the mer1t pick is spicy!
@@ATPOverwatchit’s a toss up 100% but I feel that Toronto when mer1t played well in comparison to when he played poorly looked like 2 different teams entirely. Maybe I’m miss remembering things but I remember things being the mer1t show
You could make an argument for infected for NA tank mvp
6:10 yeah cr lost like 4 games but also lost like 3/4 "stages"
They also did win the international tournament tho. As a wrestler the way I see it as stages are like regionals. No one really cares so long as you qualify for states and perform there.
Might be a hot take but imo Landon should be the regional MVP for EMEA. SSG's dominance in brawl has a lot to do with his Bap being arguably the best in the world and he showed he was also a top tier Brig. Just seems like everything good about the most successful team in the region was largely because of him
His Brig was disasters
Imo, nobody on superteams should win any most "valuable" player award.
Exactly!!
Bold take SOMEONE NA MVP
What about xzodyal for rookie?
my tank mvp is pge
Do people think Hadi is bad? I’m genuinely asking now, I did think so but not a mention makes me a little sad.
how is scissors and kellan not in NA team 2?
Scissors is mid that’s why. Kellan is Controversial tho
i personally think quartz > sparkr but ssg is a better team
I agree with most of your picks but not the overall EMEA MVP. SPARKR is great but he wasn't constantly playing and if opponents took the fight to on matching DPS heroes he often switched hero. I think QUARTZ is the best with a whole team supporitng him, Kevster when it comes to individual abilities to change a match and Funny Astro when it comes to supports who can win a match and count the opponents ults.
Quite boring picks but I can't criticise you for them, because it's hard to argue against them. CR just dominated most of this season, so what can you do.
Heesang over Proper…smh
i would disagree with NA MVP. Sugarfree is a respectable choice, its def close, but i felt like someone really deserves credit. The amount of space he took was insane and he commanded NA's attention to open the way for his team. I dont think toronto are anywhere near as good with a tank that isnt someone just cause the way he played enabled the rest of the team so well. Its not even just being a good player, but it looked to me like his style of play was the backbone of their system which in my eyes makes him more valuable
I disagree outside of Winston maybe doom someone didn’t stand out above his competition like he did last year granted this is due to poor meta for tanks all season long but Lenny and you forgot mer1t were the clear carries of this team and if they didn’t show up Toronto was more often than not loosing
@@ELI-521 i respect your opinion but i disagree, i saw merit be very on and off compared to the rest of the defiant and felt he was much more quiet than sugarfree someone and rupal, though i will admit i wasnt able to watch all their matches so i can see it possible that there was some stuff i missed
ATP is really climbing up in the OW esports scene and you absolutely love to see it 🥹 (Nozl Asia MVP)
