No doubt, that shankar jaykishan were best out of them. It was difficult in those days, for every listener to find out even a single number to avoid.. Everyone of them was best. Naushad, SD vermen, shankar jaykishan, Roshan, Ravi.. Even chitragupta was giving lovely numbers. Thanks that Golden period, thank god that i was also a regular listener.. All songs are really great and superb, i was at that time school going student and between 12 to 16 years old , i heard all songs in Binaca gitmala ,which was most popular program in filmi music, at present i am 70 years old however i couldn't not forget these songs, it was great time ❤😅🎉.

Jo Wada kia Rafi sahab ka Version hi Bahot best hai Full of Rimance and magical Voice , Rafi sahab ko hi Award milna chahiye tha . Khair Rafi sahab ko kisi ke koi Award ki Zarurat bhi nahi hai , Ye Awaz hi apne aap men Award se bhi bahot ziada hai .
Filmfare awards unfortunately are not totally genuine.Vijay Anand once commented that they demanded 50 k for giving awards to Guide which they refused.
I also agree with Pandyaji R D burman had rightly told in one of the interview that SJ had given all varieties of music so after ever music director onwards copied by one way or another way They are world the best music composers because of God blessings

Music of Dosti was indeed very good. But the music of Sangam was outstanding. Even today the songs of Sangam create magic that is nowhere to be found in Dosti's songs. LP was not the right choice.
60s were dominated by Shanker Jaikishan who either won best music director Filmfare trophy or were nominated all through the decade heavily.They were the undisputed lords of Hindi film music hands down.

That was truly the golden age of music. I am diehard fan of SJ But I really feel sorry for SDB for not getting award for the outstanding music for guide. Perhaps the award should have been given jointly to SJ & SDB.
Though Baharon Phool Barsao is undoubtedly a very sweet song but from all angles songs of Guide are much more superior than that of Suraj. Injustice was done to Guide

Why Suraiya was not in limelight who ruled the film industry over 4os & the 50s, as singer, actor & dancer? Her performance in Mirza Galib was super unarallel in history. I feel because she was dicriminted because she was all rounder, which nobdy else coud be & because she was a Muslim girl.
As per my knowledge Shankar Jaikishan Deo are the best of all times whether it may be classical, Hindusthani, Western music, fast melody or ghajals. Hats off to them. Similarly Sri Madan Mohanji well known for his melodious tunes. Indian music alway great.

I disagree. In those days "baharo phool barsaao" was heard in every nook n corner. That was not the case with Guide song, except Gaata Rahe Mera Dil.
