Someone enlighten me, why we use satellite based speedometers and why not speedometer based? Satellites measurements have a latency of 0.5 seconds. That means you get your data (in this case the speed) in 0.5 seconds intervals. 0.5 seconds is a huge amount when dealing with acceleration times. Based on the speedometer I get 100-200 km/h at around 6.5, while the GPS speedo gets 7 seconds. Another way how you can determine inaccuracy of the GPS speedo (not just this one, but all of them in general) is the fact that if you have the gear ratios of the car, the tire size of the car, the redline (or limiter) rpm you can calculate how fast you can go in each gear. Based on those you can do 175 kmh in 3rd, while in the video at 4:51-4:52 3rd gear's top speed was at 160-166 km/h (give or take 100 rpm) at redline. It's insane that the automotive community considers this accurate.
