Watching how he is growing and developing as a skater is wonderful. He has come so far and will only continue to astound. I could watch him skate for hours - not only does he have the technical ability, but his fluidity and grace on the ice is beautiful to see.
FANTASTIC YUMA ‼ Congratulations for accomplishing such gorgeous program and performing it so beautifully so early in the season. Step sequence is particularly appealing it gave me chills and goose bumps all over ‼ Yeah I know Ilia may do more quads but artistically Yuma definitely takes the cake‼
This program is breathtaking, Yuma's skating skills are definitely best in the field now💕 I'm so sad that Ilia is so overscored in pcs and especially skating skills, it feels so disrespectful for complete skaters like Yuma
@@margaretchung5900 Amen. Better character development. It helps having that Russian blood although he is thoroughly a Virginian. Ilia is growing up. I'm not sure Yuma is.
Seriously though, how did Ilia get higher PCS scores than Yuma at this event? Also, do the judges expect me to believe that Yuma's skating skills are only 0.5 points better than Ilia's?
Kagiyama had problems on almost every jumping pass, even a double Axel. That's probably why. His choreography is better, but it has to be executed better, as well.
I don't know if Lori Nichol ever reads through these threads or if Yuma, his father or Carolina does but if they see this, please keep this up! I know it must feel like the deck taste against you given that the skater that has poor glide, lead feet and only 2 foot Skating, with absolutely no artistic impression is getting the same scores as this brilliant material. It isn't fair. I don't know what can be done about it, but in the meantime, please keep this coming.this was of the finest quality
Oh my god, he is just getting better and better at performing! The jumps are not perfect for him but it’s the beginning of the season. The step sequence is just absolutely brilliant. And every season he just keeps getting younger…
Now that's a program! Please Yuma get those jumps right, cause you soooo much better then Ilia! You're in a different class. Seriously, your skate it's mindbogling!❤
I will preface this by saying that although I'm team Ilia, I really do like Yuma. And I can see where he gets his fan base from. His edges are deeper, the knees work, etc. Remember, their body types are very different. And I can also say that Yuma could meet Ilia measure for measure even without Ilia's jumping ability. But that being said, this doesn't do it for me. In any way. There was no character. He isn't developing. And since they are so both close in age, I want to see development, whether it by choreo or athleticism. I saw solid jumps without amazement, but nothing that upped his game since March. And again, I really like him and Adam. But not feeling it.
I find it interesting that Kagiyama chose a Spanish guitar program after Ilia did one last year. This feels derivative, and I would have thought Kagiyama would have wanted to separate himself from Ilia, not set himself up for more comparison. Even the hand-clapping section was identical to Ilia's Malaguena SP from last year. At the same time, I don't get the sense of emotional connection of Kagiyama to his music. Yes, his edges are good, but the most I've ever seen him connected to his music was the Michael Buble "When You're Smiling" SP. He should choose something upbeat again.
@@kuklakid Yep, stay strong and ignore those petty Fanyu-types who see every legitimate criticism of their favored skater as a personal attack. Ugh. I'm so glad most of them are gone along with Hanyu. Nathan rocks, and so does Ilia.
Interesting that he's doing a Spanish guitar program after Ilia's from last year. You'd think he'd want to separate himself from that. Even the hand-clapping was similar to Ilia's SP from last year.
flamenco-inspired programs are well established in skating, and the clapping is a stylistic hallmark. I don't think one can reasonably point to that to argue its similarities to ilia, as you'd be an outlier to do such a program and not do it
@@aimee3845 I never said Flamenco or Spanish-inspired programs or music didn't have a history in skating. Even so, it makes NO sense for Kagiyama's team to do a Spanish program in the season immediately after his biggest competitor just did the same thing. It was a bad strategic choice.

Because they are giving ilia world champion and big federation pcs.
