Hi friends! In todays video we are decorating my kitchen and dining room for Christmas! I am going with neutral modern farmhouse Christmas decor this year but I wanted to bring a pop of color to our kitchen. I show how to make a hot cocoa bar in this Christmas decorate with me 2020 video and I love how it turned out. You could do so many different things with hot chocolate stations! I also decorated a hallway to give a cozy farmhouse feel. I hope you guys enjoy this video! I set up my Christmas village on my Hoosier cabinet every year, and I have a pond with skaters too! I love my village, it’s my most favorite piece of Christmas decor. :-). I use books under my houses to give it different levels, then put blanket snow on them for a winter look.
Very beautifully done. Using white quilt batting makes the villages look really nice too. Lay it under the houses and than buy the fluffy fake snow to put on top of it. It would look so cool.

My mother in-law gave us my husbands village which is over 35 years old.... I decorate with it every year😍. Plus my kids are obsessed with it so I love it ❤️

For my village, I put boxes or upside down bowls under some of the houses to give more levels. Then to cover them I use some of that blanket style snow, and put the village houses on top of the snow.

Great idea cutting that piece off. I use styrofoam or a box to raise parts of my village and add snow. The skating rink is awesome. What a special gift from your grandmother. Now you can create wonderful memories with Brooks like you had with your grandmother. Love your cocoa bar and table.

I decorated with a Village for years. The Ceramic ones and they were very beautiful buildings from Ace Hardware and other places. I put the fake snow down first. Then the buildings and some light posts, plus signs and trees and people. I found many unique little things to add to the town. I finally got tired and old from doing it so I gave my best ones to my Daughter. She does her whole house too.

I love your tiered tray from the hearth and hand line, I have the same one! It’s my favorite tiered tray because most traditional trays have the main bar going through the center, so you end up loosing space on the actual trays to decorate with. This one doesn’t have that bar going down the center so you have more space to decorate with. Also, most tiered trays have curved edges on the trays, so it’s sometimes hard to see the decor your trying to display. Not this one! Nice flat trays with lots of space, love it! I have 3 tiered trays but this one is by far my fave!🎄❤️⛄️

Super adorable! I DO have a few village pieces I put them out on the mantel (if I have one-we move quite a bit). I love the kitchen and it's nice that it's up on shelving so you don't need to move anything out of the way if you need the counter space.

I love everything. The village is my absolute favorite piece of your whole kitchen since it was your grandmother's. I would looooove to have my Aunt and Uncle's one-day. They dated every piece on the bottom so they can remember what year they got each piece and they would add a new piece every Christmas.

I’ve seen where people have stacked old books to put houses on to give it different heights, and then add fake snow and it’s super cute. Maybe could even do with some cupcake stands. 🤔

I have collected 5 Dept 56 villages over the years and displayed them year round. Grand children never bothered them just looked. I recently gave my Dickens village to my oldest grand. I would put books under the houses under the batten of snow to change the heights of the houses.

I do have a village for Christmas, my children add to it every year as one of my gifts 😍. They have been doing this for years now and I love them
This year I asked my husband to make me a ladder shelf for them for next year.
If you look on Pinterest you will see tons of ways. It will be shaped like a tree so it will 5 or so shelves to decorate with snow and trees and everything that makes it feel real.

Everything looks cohesive & beautiful. One thing I like to do with the houses in my village is to elevate some of them on either books, or on little low shelves I found at the thrift store. it adds some dimension & fills some of the space above them. They are such a treasure!

The christmas village reminded me so much of my moms. She had hers set upin the halway on a fake snow pad. My brother got it when she passed. It all looks so pretty and cozy.

I also have collected The Snow Village and next time you might try elevating the top shelf on white styrofoam so it will show above the railing and then you can sprinkle the plastic snow to cover the styrofoam. You have a great eye! Happy Holidays!
