Some people are way too sensitive to the fact that some dogs are kept in a crate at night. Personally, our dachshund prefers to sleep in his own bed in his crate, he'd jump off my bed to do so, even if I offer to let him sleep with me. Clearly this puppy gets lots and lots of love, and is extremely healthy. I also bet they both get more restful sleep at night 🤷♀️
I think it's also good to set boundaries with your dog. Too many people let their dogs run the roost and think their bad behavior makes them "quirky". This dog seems very well behaved and loved.
Within 20 seconds I see the problem...Frankie is in a crate. Truth be told, there has never been a better bed partner than a dachshund...you are missing out on one of life's greatest pleasures.
My boyfriend hates when I let ours sleep in the bed because her puppy dreams wake him up and when she stretch at night her nails scratch him, because she has to be touching someone at all times, I never minded it though I love when she sleeps next to me
Crate training is important for puppies. In addition to potty training, it prevents them from eating stuff that's bad/toxic for them, chew furniture, walls, carpets, electrical wires, etc. As they get older they dont do this as much, but if you get a puppy rhe crate is vital at the beginning.
Crates haven't been used until maybe ten years ago, Clearly, people brought up puppies without crates for ages! The owner of the Loulou & Friends channel, Eveline, has never used crates for puppy training. Her dogs do sleep in them at night but the DOOR STAYS OPEN.
Frankie seems perfectly happy with his living arrangements. My mini longhair dach/toy poodle cross sleeps anywhere she likes, has access to yard via doggy door. In an apartment this is not possible but Frankie's Mom is doing all the right things for his well being. If he objected to the night crate I am sure he would be barking and crying out for a release. Lots of Love there between them. 🤗
He doesn't seem to bark at all! I'm looking into getting a long haired mini dachshund, but live in an apartment and am a little worried about the barking. Did you train Frankie to not bark a lot, or is he just always quiet? And are mini dachshunds generally all quiet like Frankie?
I had two and mine barked at noises and people. It was hard to take them anywhere. They were the best though, loved them tremendously. Lived to almost 17 years. Never were completely housebroken though no matter how hard I tried to train them.
My princess Leia barks a bit during the day, but during the night she never barks. Noises she hears and people going by our street make her bark 😊 I don't mind at all... she is kind of warning us of something. She is a cutie, but I didn't train her and she doesn't sleep in a crate. She sleeps where she wants to. Only not in my bed during the night. Hubby loves her but doesn't like pets in bed. I had a kitten and it was the same; she only slept in my sons' bed 🤭

The long haired ones have some spaniel in their lineage, which are less stubborn and more mild mannered than the terrier blood in smooth and wirehaired.
This is about one year since I have watched this video. For all that are bashing her for putting her dog in a kennel, get educated about. My dachshund was semi crate trained. This has helped me make sure that he doesn’t chew things up, potty train him, and for him to have a safe place when I can’t take him along.
Thank you fo the nice video. Could you kindly exlaine please, why do you put him in the cage for the night? he might want to go to the toilet or to eat or just walking around.
Dogs are den animals and they feel safe in their crates. They only have to go during the nights while they are still puppies and they make it known if they have to go. Plus, responsible owners know to be on the lookout during the puppy phase. They will learn to hold it longer and longer as their bladders grow bigger. Animals will not go in their crates unless the crates are too big. They need to be just big enough to turn around in and lie down comfortably. Sleep time is not for just walking around.

Und dass Sie permanent die Pfoten reinigen, ob das so gesund ist. Unser Hund wird nur bei Regen mit einem normalen Handtuch die Pfoten getrocknet. Der süße Hund kann einem bei so einer Halterin nur leid tun. Schrecklich
I had a black & tan dachsund for 16 years. He was never put in a crate, never wore a collar, and rarely was ever on a leash. He slept right next to me in bed. Crates are simply not necesaary.
They are helpful if you don’t want them to be chewing on things when you are doing tasks which require your full attention. In 5 seconds they could destroy something while you look away. But this is only in the beginning when they are a puppy and you are training them
My miniature dachshund has run of the house no cages for him
Anyone who is against cages isn’t a good dog owner point blank, cages keep your dog safe. If your dog is out 24/7 with no supervision they can get into literally anything and everything.
