Rolling Stone, Esquire and most importantly Coldplay have paid tribute to this performance. I'm almost positive that MTV Unplugged encourage at least one cover of a song as well as their own material. Fix You is a song that BTS hold dear.

Coldplay does not usually let people cover their songs, but I think the decision was perfect. BTS have loved Coldplay for many years and have said how this song helped them through quarantine. Not long after BTS performed this, Coldplay praised them on social media platforms. It was a hauntingly beautiful rendition of a very touching song.
Just some things I wanna say: @4.26--the one you pointed out you'e liking his voice--that's Jimin, lead vocalist and main dancer of the group. His unique tone really draws you into the song. Also, the rappers' (RM, Suga and Jhope) gentle, low voices throughout is the perfect balance to the highs of the track. The way Jungkook starts the song and the emotion-filled high note of Jin makes me tear up. Then, V brought the tone back down into a quiet, soft and wonderfully gentle end is the icing on the cake. Thank you for appreciating their music, their voices and their efforts.

i’m so new to the bts army but i fell in love with Vs voice a lot ! the way he nailed the reverse part at the start after jk and also sang low by ending the song gave me goosebumps. like i’ve heard this song so much during my college days and that guy sounded very similar to chris 😭

jimin voice is unique. In this cover his voice did give me a feeling. that I can't describe it in words. His emotions reach me through his voice and translate in tears in my eyes. it was a magical moment for me. And now I need to be fixed this cover can't get of my head

this song gave them comfort during quarantine and thought it will comfort us Armys too that's why they choose this particular song apart from their songs to perform on MTV unplugged and they always been a Coldplay fans themselves ... and Coldplay also never let any1 cover their songs said " it's very personal to them so not sure others could justice the emotions of their songs " ... so so honored that Coldplay let our boys perform their song and was sure they will do justice to the emotions of the song ..... appreciate them being such good musicains and artists that they accepted our boys as musicians and artists beyond every other barriers ... hope other good artists and music lovers also could see BTS like that !!

they said this song helped them through many hard times especially last year but also in previous years theres a post on twitter from 2018 and you can hear it in the background. in 2018 they were thinking of breaking up but then thankfully decided to continue their journey as a group i think that song means a lot to them as well since multiple members have it on their playlists too.
ive also heard coldplay doesnt let just anyone cover their songs especially not fix you because of how special it is. the mutual respect between the bands makes my heart happy :)

Exactly! Coldplay loved this cover of their song. I respect and love the original but BTS make their cover songs their own. BTS’ music gives comfort, encouragement, support, love and heals people that’s why it’s not a surprise for us that they picked Fix You to cover for this special performance. When BTS performs, you wouldn’t want it to end. BTS is the best! There’s nothing like BTS!

BTS said on Unplugged that they listened to this song a lot last year and it brought them a lot of comfort, so they wanted to prepare it as a surprise gift for ARMY, hoping it'll bring us comfort as well. And of course, it does!
I hope you'll do more reactions to BTS' live performances. They're always so much better because of the ad libs and harmonizing. Another one of I really liked from Unplugged is Blue & Grey. MTV recently made English subs available on the videos.

Hey guys 👋! You’re right, Coldplay are very proud of this cover, they tweeted the link to this and said how beautiful it is. These seven boys definitely did the song justice, didn’t they? Anyway, I’m not sure if you’re aware yet of SHINee (say shiny), absolute legends in KPOP who debuted way back in 2008, they’ve just started their latest comeback, the title track’s MV Don’t Call Me has just been released 5 days ago and it’s soooooo gooooood! The hook keeps getting stuck in my head. There are 4 in the group, but there used to be 5, one of them sadly passed away in December 2017. So MVs from 2017 and earlier will have 5 members, 2018 and later it’ll be 4 members in the MV (but shawols (fandom name, stands for SHINee world) all know that Jonghyun is with them in spirit). In Don’t Call Me, the oldest and leader Onew (say OH-new) is sitting at the bench holding the book, Key is the guy with the feather hat, Minho is the guy with the bright red hair, and the maknae Taemin has black hair with blond highlights and is wearing a white jacket. And this video has already got 23M views in just the 5 days it’s been released so far (at least it’s 23M at the time I type this!) and already has over 1M likes. Deffo well worth checking out 😉!

this cover was so good and everyone was so happy and enjoying it until a german radio host that was so mad because bts covered this said that bts is like an abbreviation for covid and that he hopes that it will be a vaccine against them soon. He also said that because they did this cover they deserve 20 years vacation in north Korea.after we all armys were furios and trended on tw he made an "apology" where he said we can't call him racist because he has a car from korea.this was his excuse,that because he has a car fro kprea we can't call him racist. we still try on Twitter to get him fired. this boys get so much hate literally for the most random things,look what they got for covering a song wich the original band even posted on all their social media accounts. anyway,i don't know why i told you all this maybe because i saw so many reactions and people really loved it that his actions makes me so furious. he literally could've said he didn't like and that's it,but he just had to compare them with a virus that ki!!ed so many people and after he saw how furious we were he said he was joking. ahh,I'm so mad
