@DynamicDuo yes but these days as people value tech more all phones are breaking records for prices... The flagships were once 500 dollars, now they are 1-2k... The midrange and budget will get better, but the real reputation and prestige for manufactures comes from the flagships... Which have to be priced higher in order to stay "flagship" level
@DynamicDuo the 6t is old at this point, the software will stop updating soon... Its also old styled... Personally but the 7t but in my opinion the 7 pro is better .... You can get a 256gb version with 90hz screen and pop up selfie cam for 500 bucks
0:25 Lew, you just missed the pull tab to open the plastic cover... It's at the top with the arrow and open and everything! You didn't need that knife....
For me personally, the oneplus 8pro is looks like the perfect upgrade so far from my Note 9, waiting on seeing what Samsung does with its Note 20 range but the price of the device being at that $900 mark appeals to me, 10bit colour + 120hz at 1440p, nevermind that its SD865 globally whereas I'm in an Exynos based country, only issue is that there isn't dedicated oneplus stores in South Africa and telecom companies dont seem to offer the phone on contract or at all, but hopefully that changes in the coming months, this phone even though more expensive than it's previous counterparts is honestly the best bang for buck smartphone out there, it has IP68 for peace of mind, 5G for future proofing, solid performing chipset that will last its useable lifetime and top tier screen quality, I dont think it competes directly with S20 ultra but it definitely gives you a headache over choosing between it and the normal S20/S20+
I don't understand why everyone is so pissed at the price. The regular OP 8 still exists if you don't want to pay the Pro's "flagship" price, which btw is still cheaper than most of the Galaxies and Iphones that it is competing with...
@@arav5401 But it literally does. It is on par or significantly better than devices like the S20 and iPhone 11, at a still cheaper price. And the normal 8 which is almost as good, is even cheaper
it is getting boring and annoying watching all these videos uploaded on the same day by the same people getting premium devices long before a regular customer can get in his hands, i would love to have the chance to get a device before these rich professionals unboxers.
Not true. I can afford this phone. I am watching it bc I'm looking to upgrade. There are far more expensive phones that people can't afford than this one.
Guys just get the 7T Pro. You're only missing the SD 865 (but let's be honest 855+ won't behave any different even in demanding games), 5G (you know the technology that will take off in like 3 years at least), 120hz, wireless charging and unusable 8K video recording. On the other hand, no hole-punch, same screen res with 90hz, same charging speed, same RAM and storage (if you take the McLaren Edition), same photo quality for 250$ or 150$ less (McLaren Edition).
Yeah, I'm disappointed they did away with the pop-up front camera. It's 2020, I want a screen with no holes, no notch, minimal bezels. Sounds like the Note 20 isn't going to have under screen front cameras this year, so guess I'm gonna try the 7 pro for a year or so.
Given the price bumps we get on Apple and Samsung devices each year, I wouldn't really blame OnePlus walking the 'flagship' path with cheaper($400 - $500) offering.
Exactly, you might as well save yourself a few hundred bucks and go for the oneplus 7t or 7pro, all you are really missing out from the 8 is the sd865 and 5G.

Oneplus really dropped the ball with these phones. Dropping the full screen+pop up camera concept for the Pro is a huge and unacceptable problem but also increasing the price significantly just made this phone a laughing stock. Oneplus was a great company because they offered good quality for low price but now they are so arrogant that they want to become the next Samsung. I am sticking with Red Magic 5G this year. Nubia is the new Oneplus. Great performance, better display than Oneplus, good camera and much lower price. Only downside is that software update is much slower.
At first the screen around the camera is black, of course to save energy in the long run, then when the screen drops down, the screen part that is black still shows for a moment, so it looks like there's something there but no it's just the screen. :)

28 gigabits are only 3.5 gigabytes
Oneplus really dropped the ball with these phones. Dropping the full screen+pop up camera concept for the Pro is a huge and unacceptable problem but also increasing the price significantly just made this phone a laughing stock. Oneplus was a great company because they offered good quality for low price but now they are so arrogant that they want to become the next Samsung. I am sticking with Red Magic 5G this year. Nubia is the new Oneplus. Great performance, better display than Oneplus, good camera and much lower price. Only downside is that software update is much slower.
Nah, I prefer faster face unlock.
Waiting a minute did I just hear 28 gigabytes of RAM😂
UT: Wow what a selfie
Room with professional lighting lighting his face: What did you expect?
Now do it in low light ;)
No one..
Literally no one..
Lew :- 28 gigs of ram 😂😂😂
But we love the way you do it. ❤️❤️
6:16 the software just blinked a black hole below the physical camera like if their were 2 vertical Cameras
Actually there are two cameras, the second one is hidden under display to capture private information 😂😂
At first the screen around the camera is black, of course to save energy in the long run, then when the screen drops down, the screen part that is black still shows for a moment, so it looks like there's something there but no it's just the screen. :)
A "flagship killer" brand now just turned into a "wallet killer" brand
Not really, it's still cheaper than Samsung and Apple, and it's $899 for there most premium phone. It's not there "budget phone" like the iPhone XR.
The 5G Hardware is the main reason for the price increase
@Cici Aliyah the OnePlus 7 pro is still worth it too. No hole punch, great chip, and now cheaper
@@Anth888ya Oh, a flagship costs more than a year old midrange device? What a shocker!
this guy reviewed a phone over a year ago and it fitted into my budget...and i still have it.... its the Xiaomi Pocophone F1..... its still very amazing phone....even updated to android 10....
"Fast isn't enough"
Lew took it seriously.
it also has a 10 bit display, that can show over a billion colors.
Oddi Toddi jerry rig video right
Let's say it together "pearlescent"
Mind says to buy iphone 11 pro max
Heart says to buy one plus 8pro
Pockets says to wait for Redmi upcoming flagship mobile...🤣🤣🤣
one plus products are awful..... owned a 7pro and it was trash.
@@p.jasonpeters670 explain pls
I'm still very satisfied with my OnePlus 6.
@@p.jasonpeters670 My OnePlus 5 Still Steady & Rocking in 2020 it's almost 3 years Didn't Faced Single Major Issue..
@@davidpoljanec4708 Frequent software issues and app compatibility issues on top of the fact that the camera would just randomly pop up with no explanation took it in to be serviced in was told nothing was wrong with the phone that it was just a quirk of the way the device operated. I was very happy to move on to a Samsung phone
Package: pull this tab to open
Lew: yes, I’ll cut with my knife
Came here to say this, but knew in my heart it had already been said.
Today marks my s10 1 year anniversary and i couldn't be any happier with it
28 gb of Ram, I’m surely going for this😂
Q- 1+8=?
A- 9 hundred dollars only 😂😂😂
Good one. This OnePlus 8 series with Snapdragon 865 is bent on only extracting money with not so good features.
@@ramandeepsingh6639 "not so good features" :D
Criminally underrated comment.
Hey, have u stopped putting your SIM in new launches and then share your expert opinion??
OnePlus: Never Settle
Me: what's with the hole in my screen?
OnePlus: forget about it!
you can hide it 🙂
"28 gigabytes of ram" I think Lu had too much of that white powder.
Love your reviews. I'm totally sold on OnePlus 8 Pro now....It was a toss between 8T or 8 Pro but, thanks to you I gotta go Pro 👍
I started a RIP chain in its live event and the people went wild there..RIP ONE PLUS
No they got rid of the pop-up camera
They are becoming a not as good samsung
@@__-on8rk I mean they are better than samsung in overall package of a phone decent at everything
