So this is my humble opinion, i feel that if you are a true perfume lover and collector you appreciate all perfume. I have noticed that the people that love niche are usually the ones leaving bad comments and arguing about perfumes. Niche is not always better, but.. i see that it opened the door to a certain person to have a lil bit of fame, and everyone that follows either wants the same, or wants to be acknowledged by that person in hopes to be the next star on you tube and social media. But that’s that persons luck! and while those people are living life and enjoying themselves, we are here getting influenced to buy $400 dollar “unique” weird smelling skin scents to help make other ppl rich. Don’t forget ppl that our parents rich or poor would wear designer, celebrity, etc.. and that was not a issue and it should not be, and now in 2020 we are blessed to enjoy niche, but to say it is better and to try to school the rest of us, please save it. We rather spend those $400 to put food on the table and save it to help out our kids go to college. I wanna smell good, and that should be the goal with perfumes no matter where it comes from. Wish I could like your comment more than once. Not sure who you are referring to but.... I have started to stop watching any videos that is a haul of niche or focus on niche as I will not shell out so much money on something that can pay my rent - live in the Caribbean so exchange rate. Also, it seems like a status thing nowadays so people can feel like they're richer than others and so fabulous that they can buy niche, which later they're decluttering bc they're not reaching for these fragrances. I see this smugness that comes off in some peoples video.
@@ToniaAlex13 When something becomes a popularity contest, it’s not fun anymore. When i first started collecting, what was fun for me is finding those deals, mixing and matching celebrity, and niche, and designer. There was no judging, just smelling good and expanding your collection. Things have changed, not quite sure for the best, i really don’t know, only time will tell 🤔

I ADORE Metallique. Here's the thing: it lasts two-three hours on me at best and it has no projection. I tried layering it on moisturizer, even putting a little amount of lip balm behind my ears (I heard someone saying oils and vaseline/beeswax locks perfume longer on skin). Again, it doesn't last. And for that price skin scent shouldn't be a thing. The idea of spending more money on fragrance is to get better ingredients/performance, right? Here's also another unpopular opinion: I have designer fragrances that smell more unique and perform better than some niche stuff I've tried. And yes, performance in general is something very personal because of skin chemistry, but there are fragrances in general that people vastly agree that are performance monsters. Also, do not apologize for your opinion. If someone can label all time bestsellers as being tacky, then you can totally say that some pricier fragrances are overrated. 🙂
I love metallique. The scent is so calming... ☺️I don't mind if it doesn't project well or if it's just a skin scent or if it doesn't last long and even if it's pricey i'll still buy another bottle.
@@mhegu13 good for you, dear, I just can't afford or at least justify the price on something that doesn't perform on me. Will definitely think twice before buying again...I really wish it lasted on me.
I agree with your philosophy - if I'm paying the big bucks I expect it to last more than an hour or two. If it's inexpensive and doesn't last, it's not that big a deal. Great video!😍
Late to this video but I agree about Rouge Malachite. It gave me Olympea vibes...it smelled more refined but I definitely wasn’t “wowed” by it either. Bleu Lazuli is good but feels a bit familiar as well. Vert is the only one that screams unique and niche blend to me enough to spend $300 on it. Great video! 💕

You're absolutely right- never blind-buy niche fragrances. They should perform well on your skin. No one should come for you; everyone's skin chemistry is different. My rule is not to blind-buy any fragrances, but especially niche fragrances. I did that once and regretted buying this expensive bottle so I sold it. You're absolutely right- niche fragrances must perform well in longetivity and projection. I've tried Herod (decant), after several fragrance reviewere sung its praises. It is definitely masculine. The most prominent notes on my skin are tobacco, vanilla, cedar and a flora note. It's definitely floral on my skin. It's supposed to be this beast-mode fragrance but it didn't last long on my skin. Layton (decant) had the same issue. I bought Carlisle and it's one if my most complimented fragrances. The blue beast- Interlude Man turned out to be burnt herb mix that vanished after about an hour. I love Beach Hut Man but it's definitely a classy, barbershop-style scent. Amouage has a few new fragrances after Interlude Man Black Iris that I am willing to try. Metallique was also not good on my skin.

Tom Ford Metallique was my first Tom Ford purchase I LOVE IT!! IT'S UNIQUE!!! It was also my most expensive purchase until I bought MFK BR540 extrait

Hi! Great video ♥️. I have Portrayal and I love it. To me, it’s so unique; I don’t have anything else in my collection that smells like it.
Jimmy Choo Illicit is one of my favourite easy-reach perfumes. It’s got the right amount of sweetness for me. Another one that gives me a similar vibe is YSL Cinema (my bottle is about 6 years old so can’t vouch for the newer ones). So easy to wear all year round (I live in the tropics btw).

Also PDM-Safanad people don’t talk about it as much and I got to smell it the other week and it’s amazing. I did also like Amouge sunshine woman but I had to let it sit on my skin for a while and Kilian’s-Angels share

@@ItsMJMaria I went to a niche perfumery and they recommended me Arabians Tonka by Montale it doesn’t smell like safanad. It’s more in the realm of alien but extremely unique and I never hear anyone talk about Arabians Tonka. I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments from it.

I think you will like Initio- side effect, BDK smoking rouge and Montale-Arabians Tonka.
BDK rouge smoking is a wonderfull cherry scent but not too sweet and it has a light smikey touch as well. Side Effect is another good one. A little more smokey. The opening is a little more of vodka and after u smell this smokey scent.
#SagNation is very blunt, definitely no sugar coating; so take it or leave lol it.

Actually, Note Vanille is pronounced closer to Nutt Vanille. The e is silent. I've been wanting to try that one for a while. You're the only person I've seen keep it real like that 😂

I've heard rouge malachite & alien fusion smell pretty similar. Would you agree with that? I have fusion but never sampled rm. It's gets so much hype so I was just curious.

People are crazy about Tom Ford fragrances. I had Black Orchid and F#@king Fabulous. I want the Tobacco Vanille but when they act like they have to have all of the sense or they try to hype them up I'm like Tom Ford steps outside of the box with his fragrances some smell like chewing gum some smell like laundry detergent. Some of the fragrances just aren't worth the money.

I’ve been trying niche.. I’ve been using royalty scents and I just go through the list just randomly picking things.. I just got montale wild pear and I really love it ... I was shocked . And I also received amouage journey woman... loooovveee it ... for me both are full bottle worthy

I wanted Harod so badly as well and found a tester bottle on the internet. When Harod finally arrived, I happily sprayed it on my hand and after half an hour I decided to sell it. Nothing wrong with it, it is a very nice scent, but I didn't want to smell like a man. To me, as well, it leans too masculine for me wanting to wear it.
I get cherry and plenty of it on top of the tobacco. Thank goodness cause I would’ve had to sell it if it was masculine on me.

I think her nose and sense of smell is highly upgraded for the fact she is smart enough to not pay $400 and up for niche fragrance that honestly are way hyped up for no reason than to make other ppl rich.
