    I do love those handlebars they look great. Just wondering with these having hoods you should test on the velodrome which is quicker hoods or drops? As everyone says on the hoods is quicker now

    • @SammyAme
      @SammyAme 2 роки тому +5

      on the hoods with bent elbows is more aero than drops ive seen somewhere. but drops is more stable specially when sprinting i feel like

    • @VIEultimate
      @VIEultimate 2 роки тому +3

      @@SammyAme the aero part has been said in at least one GCN vid. i think it's the one about aero on a budget featuring Ollie. as for the second one, that's also true for descending. the drops just give you a more secure grip on the bars when you're really pulling on it when sprinting, or when you're trying to brake on the descents. that's why you see pros still using the drops on really fast and technical descents, and sprinters like Cavendish using it when sprinting really hard.

    • @richardharris8538
      @richardharris8538 2 роки тому +1

      I reckon drops are faster. On a straight and fairly level stretch of road, with forest each side, so not subject to much wind, I see that my speed picks up when I switch to the drops. (On the hoods, I ride with level forearms.) Admittedly this could be partly psychological, that is, if I speed up because I believe I will.

    See what a silver crank does for the looks of a bike. I keep saying group manufacturers need to have a silver offering. I was really hoping for Shimano to do it when they introduced the new 9200 because the 9000 was so popular. That crank on that all black bike is bling 100%.

      @NonCoinCollector That's just a typical sound for track bikes running 1/8th chains. Mine is louder than Manon's and sounds like a garden trimmer on a quiet indoor track. I think it might be the carbon frame with huge tubing profiles and carbon wheels all acting like a sound board.

    Well, it would have been if you'd had the valves lined up! 😉
    To my eyes (and, yes, I may be a bit of a roadie), those bars look so odd with no brakes or gear shifters. But I can see how much Manon loves them, so they must be good.
    Those tyres must be rock-hard at 180 to 200 psi. I assume you'd use an air compressor to get those pressures, because I struggle to get my tyres up to 110 psi with a track pump, and those have nearly twice the pressure in there!

    • @karlwalters3763
      @karlwalters3763 2 роки тому +2

      High pressure track pumps must be designed slightly different (correct me if I'm wrong) but I don't seem to have issues pumping mine up to 180. Rock hard tyres on the boards are sublime as indoor tracks are super smooth and super fast!

      Wheelies? Yes, it's a great bike for wheelies - if you can get the front wheel up in the first place.
      Maybe that's an idea for a new kind of track event? It would certainly be entertaining for the spectators.

      Sometimes that happens unintentionally. I saw a frightening video of a Ferrari owner losing control of his car, only minutes after driving it off the dealer's lot. He got a little too heavy on the accelerator and it started fishtailing until it encountered a parked car.

    Look of love Manon gave her bike is more intense than the love Carl Fredricksen had for Ellie.

    Why does a track bike sounds like this if doesn't have a free hub?

      It's the rattle of the chain on the cogs, amplified by the surface area of the disc wheel.

    Excellent video Manon, love the track bike. Did you not think about washing it before filming it?
