  • NOTE 1 The Trend trim is no longer available after the recent updates for the Verso lineup. When it was available, the Trend trim sat in between the Icon trim and the Excel trim.
NOTE 2 This is an early 2016 model, which still had the older steering wheel and Touch 2 with Go head unit.
Hello everyone! Today's video will be about the UK-spec 2016 Toyota Verso five door MPV with the 1.8 litre Valvematic naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 145hp/147PS paired to a Multidrive S CVT in the Trend trim.
Below is the list of current Verso five door MPV variants available in the UK as of 30th August 2016. I arranged it from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Looking to buy a new car, and this one being one of my choices, I have watched countless car reviews.
This is by far the best car review I have seen, of the Verso but also of any car.
The flow is perfect, calm and steady without leaving out any information.
This has helped tremendously. Thank you!

Thank you for watching! I don't have a video on the latest 2017 Zafira, but I do have one on the 2014 Zafira (the pre-facelift model), albeit in Vauxhall guise. Do watch that as well if you're interested.
If you ask me, I guess it depends on an individual. Each car has its own pros and cons.
      The Verso
+ Smaller car, so it doesn't feel as cumbersome to drive as the Zafira.
+ The 1.6 1WW turbodiesel engine is a BMW unit, so it is both economical and fairly powerful at the same time.
+ Being a Toyota, I guess you could say better reliability.
      - Smaller car also means its more cramped on the inside.
      - Looks are starting to get dated, both inside and out.
      - If you go for the 1.8 petrol, it does feel lethargic, more so on the 1.6 petrol.
      The Zafira
+ More space on the inside (especially the boot) and the seats have more adjustment options.
+ Engine range is wider and more powerful (majority of the engines are turbocharged).
+ It is the newer car among the two, so it has more options and better features.
      + IMO, it looks better.
      - May not be as reliable as the Toyota.
      - It does have good handling for a car of its size, but the size of the Zafira may put some people off.
      - Automatic cars are not as fuel efficient as the manual counterparts.

It's called parking brake for a reason? Besides, what kind of silly person doesn't put their parking brake whilst parked.

Verso is a good car for a family trip but China won't introduce it.
