- The St. Louis Wheel - A Nighttime Ride On The Ferris Wheel At Union Station - Great City Views!
As soon as we heard they were constructing a huge Observation wheel at the St. Louis Union Station, we made up our minds then and there to go. We love Ferris wheels, and we finally got the chance to ride the St. Louis Wheel one evening with some of our family. We were all excited to ride The Wheel, and see what else they had done to the area around Union Station. Along with The Wheel, they've added several other new attractions and venues to this area. There's now a carousel, a miniature golf course, the St. Louis Aquarium, a Ropes Course, a Mirror Maze, the Soda Fountain restaurant and sweet shop, and the Station Grille restaurant. There are a lot of new reasons now to come back to Union Station!
And we loved riding The Wheel! We were not disappointed, as we thought the views were amazing, even at night. The Wheel has 42 climate-controlled gondolas, and since it was a cold evening when we rode, we were glad that the cabins were heated! The gondolas were comfortable, and being 200 feet above the ground, you do get to see some great views of St. Louis. We'll definitely do it again someday during the daytime, and we'd recommned it to all of you!

Why would you want a TV? Cool to see the city!
It is! She wasn’t real sure what the TV was even for, but she thought it might show the passengers how the Wheel was made or things about the city. Apparently that part doesn’t actually work yet!
Looks new and it's really nice. A small version of something like the London Eye. St. Louis has a ton of fun touristy things to do.
St. Louis is stepping up their game lately! We would love ride the London Eye someday.
@@GmaGpaAdventures I regret not riding and seeing the London Eye, but I spent only 2 days in London enjoying the British Museum, seeing royal procession at Buckingham Palace, the old castle Tower of London with crown jewels, and eating fish and chips. The London Eye is Masonic esoteric allegorical symbolism representing the compass and all seeing eye. I want to see the Temple Bar district of old London for it's just so interesting. When international travel is reopened for us and the virus thing is going away, it's likely that super cheap flights, I mean cheap cheap, to go over there will be possible again. If I remember correctly, going to Europe is like 8 to 10 hours for us in America each way which is not too bad. You can do it maybe $500 RT fare and with at least 1 week off with a new passport in hand which are not being issued right now for the state department is processing emergency passports since March due to Covid 19. It's all gotta come back eventually with full global travel restriction lifted.

You have to do the London Eye, if you haven't already. Double the height of this of course, but it's the huge capsules/gondolas of the Eye that make it more fun. If I remember correctly....rode it in 2006, the seats are in the middle of the huge capsules, and nothing obstructing your views out the expansive windows, so you can see a lot more of the view. I was so frightened I couldn't get close to the glass/windows to look out, Quite a ride!

Have fun! We think you'll like it, and there's several things to do at Union Station now, so check those out too. The Aquarium is cool, and you need to make a reservation for that if you want to go.

this was so much fun!!! Now, to get to ride it in the daylight will be fun too this summer sometime after the aqauirum opens.
Yes...we have to go back after everything there is open! The views were good at night and we should be able to see a long ways during the daytime.
Could you see Busch Stadium? It’s be cool to ride during a game if you could actually see the action.
Unfortunately, you can't see Busch Stadium from the Wheel. But you can go up in the St. Louis Arch and watch a game when the Cardinals are in town.

do you have to have other people ride with you? bc of covid can you ride just one couple in there?
They have been separating groups by families/friends, and you can go up alone if you are a single rider.
