I know right. I really like this. It's a chill video. Can put it on the second monitor while doing work or other stuff. It's relaxing, educational, and artistic all at the same time. I started off thinking I was going to get bored but I like to give content makers a chance and in this case, I'm glad I did.
FANTASTIC VIDEOGRAPHY! Not only the setup to the wood bacon but the camera on the gantry to see the cutting process and several other shots! The innovative way you cut and inserted the middle slab was another excellent piece of craftsmanship and art design!
maaan, that cnc-controlled stop motion shot. Brilliant. if creativity = thinking outside the box, then you Frank have forgotten how the box actually looks like :)
At first I thought the pace of the narration was a little slow but as the video went I appreciated it. So many youtubers rush through their thoughts and it was relaxing to listen to.
I love how you show your “screw ups” such as talking about how you could have cut and arranged the slabs for this door. Make a thing. Assess how it could be better. Make the next thing.
Absolutely fascinating watching your elegant solutions to problems you encounter along the way I find your presentations, filming, & your commentary extremely enjoyable. You are a true craftsman & a great human being.
Woodworking and bacon are a match made in heaven. Frank’s workshop should be put on a woodworker’s and videographer’s tourist map. Amazing work! Amazing foresight to harvest the sequoia for future projects.
Wasn't expecting much from this based on the video title, but the results were impressive as usual. Never expected to be so engrossed in watching a door being made.
My husband and I just love watching your videos. Your videos are never boring, great narration and fantastic sence of humor, not to mention very informative. Keep putting out the great videos and we'll keep watching
So good I've watched it multiple times. Respect! You should narrate children's books because your voice has a soothing timbre to it, no doubt lubricated by lots of bacon grease! Thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor with us in such a professional production and yet casual air. Fun!
Just so many things to comment on that I don't know where to begin. That timelapse with the CNC machine is simply lateral thinking at its best. That "patch" solution to those little gaps is great. Those final slices of "bacon" on the frying pan... well, you got me laughing there. Beautiful, beautiful work, both the door and the video production, as usual only better. Also, I agree, sometimes some big thinks are better carried by one than two if they're not too heavy. Nice, really nice.
Its amazing, at the start of the video Frank's assessing a door for a pantry that's still an open space with blank walls...meaning, he's done the cleat shelving BEFORE the door & this door video. The video within the video skills are utterly mesmerising.
Your ability to think out of the box is amazing. Love your projects but what a joy to watch due to your creative filming and editing... So impressed. Thanks you
I've heard of Maple Bacon, but not Sequoia Bacon LOL Awesome work as always Frank. I love that your projects all have a unique quality to them. It's like your planning process never takes the beaten path, but instead finds it's own way, and you solve any problems as you go to make it work. This is what makes a woodworker a craftsman 👍 The same could also be said of your video work and editing, your video productions never ceases to amaze and impress 😀
Frank, you hit 1 out of the park! Every project you do is great! I think what is so important about your videos and other youtubers is it gives people ideas about projects they can learn and do themselves. UA-cam providers are the #1 source for information. Thankz
Frank, your work is so much fun to watch. You seem to be so open about the mistakes and how you handle them. Couple that with the effort you put in to your videos. Its addicting to watch
You could have made it a frame-and-panel door with dozens of little panels, so it resembles a giant waffle! Maybe that should be your next door project. You could theme your whole house on breakfast food.
Could you have left the live edge on the vertical sides of the door? I don’t know if it would’ve worked, but I think that would’ve looked pretty cool. Looks awesome as is though!
Yeah, seems odd the hardware was designed to have the door just bounce at the end. The rails may be stainless, so a spring detent would probably have to be devised.
I found your channel by accident, but I'm glad I did. I love your storytelling and your cinematography. Woodworking is new to me as I recently retired from the USAF and my VA counselors recommended it for some relief from PTSD symptoms. You have an amazing setup in the router, but more than that you have the skills and knowledge to put it to great use. I look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks.
Love the contrast of the bacon-making clips with the woodworking! I also like how there are stories now becoming of every woodworking piece in your house! It's like a museum to walk around and think about it all! :)
The crazy thing about doing something really special like this is that it highlights the ordinariness of its surroundings. Like that dreadful clamshell case molding or the plain hollow core door adjacent to the new door. Now you have a really awesome door in a drab space. Time to get to work!
It is awful.... awful how you only have 377k subscribers... take one look at the trending videos and you realize the world is going to shit, and your channel is one of the last good places on the internet.
Your video making skills are great however... for me CnC isn't especially interesting to watch. I prefer to see more hands on wood working, just my thoughts.
Both your projects and your videos are amazing. I usually watch every one of your videos, but I almost didn't watch this one because of the length. I thought I would just skip around and see the finished product. However, once I started the video I couldn't bring my self to skip ahead. I watched every second. You embrace the artistic and the technical, and you take your craft to a whole other level. Nice work!
it is very obvious from all of your videos that you enjoy making and editing videos as much as you enjoy woodturnig/working. it is beautiful work. the craft of the cinematography is as seemless as your project, equally as impressive, and so much fun to watch. i absolutely love it.
Frank, you could do a feature length film on woodworking and probably win an Oscar for it! It's a toss-up sometimes to decide what was better: the woodworking, or the cinematography!
Smiled when you put the bacon butterflies into the pan and thought you were going to flip them over and show them with the finish already on the other side. Loved the video.
I love your videos. Your craftsmanship and artistry are wonderful. I love your innovative and creative cinematography, as well. Excellent work. Thank you so much.
I have seen every UA-cam video you have posted and I can't say how much I enjoy watching them and I can say that i have learned a lot of things from your videos and I hope to see some new ones soon
I randomly stumbled upon this video after watching the 8 ball video. Your level of dedication to not only woodworking but also making this video really surprised me. The stop motion shots and the constant voice over made a long video feel like it wasn't long at all, if anything it felt like I was spending some time with a friend, a friend that likes fried bacon shaped wood.
Beautiful as always, Frank! We just recently installed barn doors to keep animals out of places we didn’t want them. Repurposed wood room divider panels and built simple frames around them to the width of the doorways. I’m so happy barn doors are popular.
Frank - every time a view your videos, I feel you've topped out - but then you upload another and you up the bar another notch. I had to look 3 times at the length of this video because it felt like only 5 minutes long and yet a day long at the same time. I was totally enthralled once more and can't thank you enough for sharing such quality time with all of us. It's been a long time and I don't remember how I first chanced on your channel, but I'm very thankful that I did. I'd hire you in a heartbeat in my production shop, if nothing else just to raise the bar on my own videos with your stellar photographic techniques! Thanks once more for an awesome coffee break entertainment and learning experience!
It did not feel like a 22 minute video. You are a great story teller and producer Frank.Thank you
I agree...now I'd like a BLT. : )
didn't even realize it was 20+ minutes long until I read your comment
I know right. I really like this. It's a chill video. Can put it on the second monitor while doing work or other stuff. It's relaxing, educational, and artistic all at the same time. I started off thinking I was going to get bored but I like to give content makers a chance and in this case, I'm glad I did.
Ya This Fella Does Great work.
The carriage activated shutter button in genius! That stop motion was incredible. One of my favorites so far.
Frank, that timelapse set up!!! That's incredible.
You never cease to amaze me Frank. Brilliant job! 👍
Thanks Douglas
I'm late to the party! I agree Frank Is a great woodworker/story teller/film maker/film editor, and one creative guy!
Dark Delta I just discovered this channel. This frank guys is seriously a genius.
okay that camera trick is awesome
sham skali skale totally
So immensely satisfying.
It was literally the best
Agreed
Brilliant stuff.
FANTASTIC VIDEOGRAPHY! Not only the setup to the wood bacon but the camera on the gantry to see the cutting process and several other shots! The innovative way you cut and inserted the middle slab was another excellent piece of craftsmanship and art design!
22 minutes of Frank are 22 minutes well spent.
22:01 actually :D
Well said!
Agree. Entertaining and worth the time as always.
it felt like a 7 minute video for me. But that is because I watched it at 3.25x.
Frank is the woodworking version of Bob Ross.
What a great comparison. I absolutely agree!
maaan, that cnc-controlled stop motion shot. Brilliant.
if creativity = thinking outside the box, then you Frank have forgotten how the box actually looks like :)
In 30 years of life I have never seen anyone so brilliant ! I feel better after this video ! Thx Frank for this, you made my day!
One of the very few places on UA-cam where the spirit in the comment section is really amazing! And it all goes to your great content Frank :-)
Anybody can make things with a CNC router but very few have a creative mind like yours to come up with such amazing and unique designs
"So I glued the . . . three halves . . . together."
Your subtle humor is the best!
I'm glad that got noticed
Wait...what was the joke in the can someone explain??
Come on...
@@internetexplorer6824 Three... halves. Halves usually come in twos. ;)
@@frankmakes Did you get that from Car Talk? The tappet brothers...
Frank... UNREAL. The build....the cinematography... so absolutely well done sir. Thank you so much for your content. Very much appreciated
genius automatic photo system and awesome result!
Cactus! workshop I agree! To have the CNC actually trigger the camera was just brilliant! And the wave effect looks so cool as it removed the wood.
Wasn't expecting much from this based on the video title, but the results were impressive as usual. Never expected to be so engrossed in watching a door being made.
THAT'S AN AMAZING SHOT! Wow. It's brilliant in its simplicity! Well done camera work!
My husband and I just love watching your videos. Your videos are never boring, great narration and fantastic sence of humor, not to mention very informative. Keep putting out the great videos and we'll keep watching

User experience design, CNC, inventive camera work, and wooden bacon sizzling in a pan. What more could a guy ask for? Cheers Frank - you are awesome.
Just so many things to comment on that I don't know where to begin.

Nice, really nice.
Mesmerizing 22 minutes. Outstanding craftsmanship. Appreciate all the hours put in for the 22 minutes of awesomeness!
When I hear the squeaking of the clamp at the end, I have a feeling of, "oh man the video is over".
Something so relaxing about the way these videos are filmed and narrated... Amazing work
A new video from Frank always makes my day.
Its amazing, at the start of the video Frank's assessing a door for a pantry that's still an open space with blank walls...meaning, he's done the cleat shelving BEFORE the door & this door video. The video within the video skills are utterly mesmerising.
Amazing as always! You’re always out doing yourself! You make me wanna be a better wood worker
Thank you, Frank, for sharing such beautiful creations with the world! You rock, brother!!!
That CNC gantry stop motion shot is brilliant.
Your ability to think out of the box is amazing. Love your projects but what a joy to watch due to your creative filming and editing... So impressed. Thanks you

Much respect Frank. I wanna be you when I grow up. ✌️
I always get excited when I see you posted another video. Never disappointed. Thank you Frank.
Frank’s are the only C&C videos worth watching even if you don’t have a machine...and I don’t.
Just watched your kitchen table build and had to say I think your channel is among the best content on the internet. Please never stop!
Those stop-motion shots never cease to amaze me!
Maybe a magnet on that stopper may help keep the door closed and prevent it from bouncing back too ;)
Good Idea, I like that.
A nail gun with an air tank instead of a compressor.... I've never thought of trying that for a small project. Clever. Thanks, Frank.
Великолепный юмор, превосходная работа. Спасибо, Фрэнк !
That's a good idea. Maybe eggs over easy for some seat cushions.
You should win the Oscar for best short film.. A smile on my face every time I see your video posted. Thanks.
Could you have left the live edge on the vertical sides of the door? I don’t know if it would’ve worked, but I think that would’ve looked pretty cool. Looks awesome as is though!
Awesome Mr Howarth. Your wife is super cool to help. Good to see her in your videos. 👍👍👍 Mrs H. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Man it takes a boatload of bacon to make a door!!
We're gonna need more bacon!
EVERYthing is better with bacon on it !!
@@frankmakes time with bacon is always well spent!
Stunning? Incredible? I'm not sure what else to say. Wow. Thank you for sharing, Frank.
I think some magnets on the left end stopper could give this some nice closing feel.
retrotellephone I thought the same thing. Or a spring of some sort.
Yeah, seems odd the hardware was designed to have the door just bounce at the end. The rails may be stainless, so a spring detent would probably have to be devised.
Although it's far from rustic which is what i usually prefer and go after, i can really appreciate the new-schoolish style of this. It's really cool
Great story telling!
It's always a good weekend when there's a new video from Frank.
Poltergeist at the cable in the background at 8:21...
Yup, he's dead
Yeah, that confused the hell out me.
Really didn't think anyone would notice that, lol
frank howarth i dis not :)
Great job as usual.

Okay , now i'm craving bacon !
Amazing work as usual frank !
I'm sure anyone who walks into that room will be craving bacon.
And I'm trying to be vegetarian.
You sir are an amazing videographer, story teller, and woodworker!
Did I spy an out-of-focus SNES controller on your manual mode CNC at 18:34? Awesome!
Love the contrast of the bacon-making clips with the woodworking! I also like how there are stories now becoming of every woodworking piece in your house! It's like a museum to walk around and think about it all! :)
Thats soooo cooooooolllll. The CNC stop motion!!! OMG frank you are truly a genius!!! Im such an admirer!!! God bless you and your family!!
I was watching full screen and at 5:06 you got me ^^ (nooooooo not now how did I switch of app)
so much quality content in one video. the time lapse idea, the design, BACON! always a pleasure watching your videos frank!
"Our wall isnt really flat" take it out and plane it with the cnc, It worked with the door...
The crazy thing about doing something really special like this is that it highlights the ordinariness of its surroundings. Like that dreadful clamshell case molding or the plain hollow core door adjacent to the new door. Now you have a really awesome door in a drab space. Time to get to work!
Found an Easter Egg on this one.1:22 and 4:05 are the same footage.
Frank, It's always a treat to watch your videos. Your creativity is inspiring.
Nice job ;-)
You're one hell of an idea man when it comes to woodworking design and artistry.
Beacon .should have cnc relief to look like a pound of beacon. A beacon door
That slow motion cutting shot is absolutely awesome. I love it.
I want to be your apprentice, Master Frank

Timelapse while flattening the slab was money!!! Well done Frank!
Suppose all those dislikes are from vegans :) :)
filmer197 Or people who don’t like burnt bacon =)
or people that cant even operate a screwdriver without a trip to the emergency room.
Or from people who didn’t like this video. Because it’s becoming a parody account.
wth are YOU on about?
I like to think that thumbs down are actually thumbs up from Australia and other southern countries.
It turned out to be way more complicated than I thought it was going to be. Nice job, Frank. Good video too.
28 Vegans watching apparently...

Beautiful grain in that wood! The time lapse trick made for an awesome sequence.
Another beautiful piece of art in your work. I love your sense of humor and filming.

I wish more architects understood the process to get to their vision. You get that. Would have been a pleasure to build one of your designs.
Using the CNC to trigger the photos for the stop motion is rather clever Frank. Delightful work as always.
Loved the project and the video. How can ANYBODY EVER down vote one of Franks videos. Awesome job, perfect level of detail for this video as well.
I don`t know if I like best your woodworking skills or your editing skills, AMAZING WORK!
