- tomhess.net/Fr... Looking for different ways to use pentatonic scale licks to improvise or write your own guitar solos? Check out these three cool ways to use pentatonic licks to improvise [...]
The first lick is easy to play but sounds great and helps you see your pentatonic scale shapes differently.
The second pentatonic lick is a super fun scale sequence that is easy to build guitar speed with, sounds super aggressive, and has an awesome twist right at the end, which makes it sound different (better?) than the usual way pentatonic licks are used and played in guitar solos.
The third pentatonic lick is an exotic one from the Hirajoshi scale (a Japanese pentatonic scale) that you can use over any rock, jazz, or metal song to improvise with - this incredible sound is one you may want to use over and over again!
So, grab your guitar, and let’s have some fun!
