      In the books Jamie was forced to become Kingsguard by Aegon Targarian to spite Tywin Lannister. Jamie is his eldest son and the Kingsguard is just like the wall. You can't own land, marry, or have children and it is for life.
      Also Jamie didn't rape Cersei in the Sept. Idky that was put in the show.

      Josh Rivers Jaime always wanted to be a kings guard, it’s a huge honor and for the family as well. Now wasn’t until he wasn’t allowed to compete in the tourney that he realize he was only asked to spite his father. Rest is history. Yes I do think in that scene he is speaking to Jon and reminding him “it’s only for life “ since the Kingsguard is also for life

He sees the naive little fool who’s not prepared for the wave of bullshit oaths and vows he’s gotta swear, the consequences when he breaks them (and he WILL break them), and being hated for your last name and who you are and what you are. Jaime in a passive aggressive way just gives him advice similar to how Cersei gives Sansa advice.

      I, I just don't see it. sure they start out similar both prodigy fighters and tacticians sons of great lords and entered into a lifetime of service but there seems like the parallels split completely one has several children with his twin sister whom he cannot even let them know they are his, loses his fighing hand and the rest of the respect he was given as his household birthright, the other earns more and more esteem from his peers as his acclaim grows all the while staying humble about it

    • @piperita7557
      @piperita7557 Рік тому

      @@devinm9245 dont'agree. The parallelism between the two guys doesn't consist of details (number of sons): you have to consider their general life path. In season 8, Jaime comes back to Winterfell to fight against the Others: years before, in that same place, Jon was just a "young fool" for him... and Jaime a "golden lion", laughing about Jon's choice to "defend the realms of men from what lies beyond the Wall". Now, Jon is the Warden of the North... and Jaime a man alone, understanding that Jon always was right. With a perfect parallelism, at last, Jon also becomes a queenslayer for the same reasons as Jaime: to kill a tyrant for saving innocent people. Their life path over the years are opposite, but mirroring each other.

    They are bookends to a story that started with the Mad King and ended with his Mad Queen daughter. • @amberanime
      @amberanime 4 роки тому +4

      @@dolphineachonga8724 I think In Jon's case though it was more of a reward/mercy. Jon would have been fucking miserable in kingslanding. Bran sent him where he would find some peace of mind and happyness. Where he felt the most at home, the north above the wall. While I do not doubt a part of him will cherish winterfell for his memories of his father and siblings, he always struggeld with it feeling like home. Jon's ending is bittersweet, not bitter. the happiest years of his life are possibly still before him, in part because he is not stuck in kingslanding as either a king or some other politics heavy scenario which would make him truly deeply miserable. He hated being king in the north. It's not for him. He belongs with the free folk, the wildlings. Now, I need a video game open world rpg spin off of Jon's adventures beyond the wall with ghost and Tormund as party members... And an Arya discovering other lands and sea encounters spin off game as well while we are at it. Sansa's ending was perfect. But Jon and Arya have more story potential, but again perhaps more fitted for another medium, like a game.

Stunning work. Absolutely stunning. Your craftsmanship when it comes to creating these fantastic vids is unparallel, and every time I see one of your vids pop up I click on it with so much excitement because I know that whatever I'm about to watch is going to be outstanding and incredible! Somehow, each time, you outdo yourself. Your series of GOT vids since the end of S8 have been some of the best work I have ever seen and has definitely gone a long way in actually making me feel okay with the ending that we got. Your vids make me think that, even though the ending wasn't the one we wanted, the rest of the story in all the other seasons is still there, we still have these characters, and as you've proven with this phenomenal video, the characters really have the most beautiful and heartbreaking stories that really reflect in one another. As I mentioned, I never even thought of Jamie and Jon but goddamn I do now. What an interesting and poetic story these two have side by side, how many similarities they hold, and the last voice over with "love is the death of duty, duty is the death of love" always gets me but in this context? Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
    Anyway, I'm rambling, but I just really wanted to say that this is amazing work. Phenomenal work. I really cannot wait to see what comes next!

      I thought about the two guys when Jaime comes back to Winterfell to fight against the Others. Years before, in that same place, Jon was just a "young fool"... and Jaime an arrogant "golden lion", laughing about Jon's choice to "defend the realms of men from what lies beyond the Wall". Now, Jon is the Warden of the North... and Jaime a man alone and completely different. I thought about their opposite life path over the years, mirroring each other: at last, Jaime understands that Jon always was right... and, with a perfect parallelism, Jon will become a queenslayer for the same reasons as Jaime: to kill a tyrant for saving innocent people.

    This. Was. Awesome.
    Made me cry. The thumbnail and the end especially. "Love is the death of duty" - Jaime, "Duty is the death of Love" - Jon = Perfect.
    So well done. The background music. Amazing.
    BETTER THAN SEASON 8!! XD

    i was thinking about how these two had so many similarities and parallels and wondered if there was a video that featured two of them. you did a terrific job by capturing the heart of their stories and how their fate was so similar. while jaime saved the whole city from turning to ashes by killing the mad king, jon failed at that point. but, as poetic as it is, jaime let his love cost his life while jon took his lover's life for the greater good. and these are not the only parallels they have. they also devoted their whole life for elite forces. they were despised and misunderstood. i can go on and on... it's really sad that in season 8 the show did them dirty.
