Hi Jasper. Am diving in as we speak. Borknagar always takes me several spins to really get it right. Like you I think Moon is my favorite so far one run through. I think the Vortex penned songs hit different for me just like up north with the vocal melodies.
"If you're gonna do something, do it properly".. No question in my mind, that Fall will be Metal album of the year, in all Metal Genres..And I'm really not into Black Metal, for all the reasons Oystein points out(12:22-17:58).... I'm now really into Borknagar! Spent the past month going through the whole discography.....So far, Alterium, Judas Priest, & Leaves Eyes all have solid albums.. But a distant 2nd and so on.. Have to see what My Dying Bride and my beloved Paradise Lost comes up with..Oyestein, please tour America
@@BelgianJasper Mmm tough call, probably Stars Ablaze.. afar and Unraveling are dynamite! And can't get Nordic Anthem out of my head lol.. You were spot on, about that being a great way to open their show!! I was thinking it was the greatest filler track of all time, between summits and Afar, or it would've been a great closing track.. You were right!
