WOW !! You have a good eye! Not only did Gary Daley (America's deck builder) not wear his safety glasses, he should have included reading glasses too!!!
6:10. Video edit occurs. I'm at this moment on my deck build. I assume you take the rail panel off to predrill...would be nice to have transparency there. Took a big bite out of the paint on my post 😡
I love how they cut out the part of installing the top clip of the lower post. He was probably cussing non stop because the angle is extremely hard to allow for the screw to not walk. I had to Uninstaller the post to mount that top clip and then slide it back into place.
Had same problem: with 2 people it is possible to have first person hold the clip with priers & second person drive in the screw. We also used a 2nd method of first marking the screw location, then predrilled each hole, followed up by installing the clip. Either way installing the last downhill top clip is quite difficult to install without having the screw "walk on the post". And you need a looong bit.
Nice filming and great cadence. Very clear instructions. Loved the 2 x 6 used as a clearance guide on the stair treads.
Excellent demo!
Thanks for info... most vids don't give you post mounting on decks
Hi i bought the section were can i get the post
You should probably include the clamps with items needed.
Is there a company that makes a similar product for a curved concrete stair?
@2:10 Composite shim, do not use wood shims as they will rot away in the weather.
Anyone else notice that the top rail on the RIGHT side of the stairs is about 1" from the post cap and the left is about 3" from the post cap?

Now I have to go back and watch it again 😂
That is by design for different height people 😜

Yeah, that is a nasty angle there

I laughed when they just cut that scene out
Please tell me I'm not the only person to notice this was all green screened??
Second panel...even worse. The location that needs the most stability had the worst fastener. Very disappointed Williams.
Should probably wear safety glasses in the video as a good practice, especially if it is stated as a necessary item.
