  • Quote from UA-camr gamemaster0422...
    "Manfred von Karma... is not without honor. In the end, he is still a prosecutor. He has found his ultimate guilty verdict though... his own."
    Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
    Episode 4: Turnabout Goodbyes
    Two men were on a boat in the middle of the night. Next thing that happens... shots are fired and by morning, a body is found indicating a murder. Witnesses and logic were clear for that the man responsible for the murder was... Miles Edgeworth!? Phoenix doesn't believe it and so takes the case in hopes of proving Edgeworth innocent. Not only that but he must also uncover the hidden truth behind the DL-6 case as well as deal with a veteran prosecutor who would do absolutely anything to get a guilty verdict... to make matters worse, he hasn't lost a case in 40 years.

      Actually, there's a 99+% chance that they'd match, due to the same gun being used to break up the insane fight out of Yogi in the elevator as was used to kill Gregory Edgeworth. What the plot twist would indicate is that there would've been two different murder weapons, which makes no sense since von Karma never takes a gun into the courtroom.

    Within his first few months of being a rookie attorney, Wright managed to:
    * Solve a case that no other attorney (not even his mentor, Mia) could solve
    * Take down the King of Prosecutors, who remained undefeated for 40 years straight. He didn't just defeat him in a case, he flat out had him sentenced for murder.

Sure he ruined many lives, which I will never admired him for, but, man, it's like this saying that matches this Von Karma splendidly: Higher they rise, harder they fall. • @sapienecks
      @sapienecks 9 років тому

      jatoatley Who knows. Von Karma was actually rumored to alter evidences so he never lost a case for 40 years. Even Edgeworth himself knew the rumor so we will never know how many innocent lives von Karma ruined. But then, a canon came along that indicates that von Karma would never tweak the evidences, he was deceived by a police officer he was working with (in order to try and secure guilty verdict without a doubt) and yet, only suspicion of deception not the deceiver came to light through Edgeworth's father's stalwart defense so von Karma's reputation was sullied through collateral damage. He was just a remarkable man in a wrong place so he broke under pressure of first imperfection he ever suffered in his life and committed the crime only once and attempted the second to bury the case once and for all: the imprisonment of innocent Edgeworth.

    Manfred: "Mr. Chief Prosecuter... I am sorry."
    Chief: "von Karma! It's not like you to make this kind of error, y'know! And here comes the water works. I never would have though that Edgeworth would be the one to catch you, y'know." *sniff*
    Manfred: "I... was careless."
    Chief: "I'm sorry, but, y'know, you will have to be penalized. Y'see, I've covered for you in the past, but not this time." *proceed to poor water out of his goggle*
    Manfred: "Edgeworth!!!"
    Chief: "C'mon, you don't have to make such a fuss about it, y'know. Y'see, i have other business to attend to. So tell your daughter, that Uncy Boo Boo can't see her today. Well, see ya!"

    @CyberTechWolf The subsequent games say MVK is "gone from this world." I suppose that could be suicide while in custody. In the third game, two people are confirmed to have been sentenced to death and another is weakly implied to have been. However, in the Japan only GK2 (AAI2) game, murderers like Sawhit don't seem to be under death sentences.

    @ggk3george That is plausible, but in California, killing someone during a burglary is considered first degree murder with a special incriminating factor, so the punishment would be either death or life without parole.

    If Von Karma lied saying that he was shot before the DL-6, he could have just asked for the surgery, dispose of the bullet, then use the same lie about the origins of the same bullet. I suppose that the word "perfection" blinded him a little too much.

    • @tampabaybuccaneer10
      @tampabaybuccaneer10 10 років тому +5

      It really depends on how deep the bullet was in his shoulder. If flesh and muscle had grown over it, it would be nearly impossible to remove with out risk of permanently damaging his arm. The risk of removing it was probably too great for him to even attempt it.

    • @DanteDMCry
      @DanteDMCry 10 років тому

      tampabaybuccaneer10 If that's the case than he could of used that as an excuse as to why he objects to the removal of the bullet for the trial and due to the risk of serious injury, the court could of had concede. With the bullet still in his shoulder, there would be no way to confirm if the ballistic markings matched and he would of gotten away with it.
      There was also another simple way he could of gotten away with it. If he didn't freak out when they were going to force him to undergo surgery then he wouldn't of made it obvious that he did it and they would of had to go through with the surgery. This would mean that they would have to suspend the trial and he would have to wait to undergo surgery. Even if they were able to prep him straight away, the surgery itself would of taken a few hours, then they would need to cross-reference the bullet with the ballistic markings of the other bullet and by then it would probably be too late in the day for there to be another trial, they would have to wait until tomorrow. The only thing is the statue of limitations would have run out by then so even though by this time they would know he was guilty, it would be too late and he would of gotten away with it. Basically if he kept his cool and consented to the surgery, he would of gotten off scott free.

    • @D3monL3A1
      @D3monL3A1 9 років тому

      tampabaybuccaneer10 regardless he had no reason to wait for his arm to heal and could have tried remvoing the bullet hiself from his arm that very same night though painful it whould not have been impossible and whould have made it much harder for phoenix to prove his guilt
