Great vid. You helped me with all the items I was not able to figure out. Did not know what the plastic peg was for to hold the machine up when tilting and why I had an extra hole in my desk, lol. Also did not know your supposed to tap the top thread holder as I thought it was too loose. Good stuff. Thanks!
I've got the same machine but I'm having trouble with the the belt tension it seems to be too tight. The flywheel is too hard to move towards you. My belt is also cream colour does that matter?
Hey its been 4 years since you set up your DDL-8700... I am wondering how you like it, and given this (and many model) have the bottom oil bath, have you noticed any issues with oil leaking, dripping out anywhere that caused an issue where you had to clean up? I am a bit worried about this happening, but not sure how common it was. Thank you!

You should be able to loosen the belt tension. It should be taught not right. To my knowledge belt color shouldn’t matter if it’s the right width.
