This was a jam-packed episode and so much fun to watch. I always take a lot of notes when I watch your visits and come away with new patterns to try and so much inspiration. My favorite winter tradition is spending a day with my sisters and our daughters traveling to local holiday bazaars then enjoying a meal together. We've been doing this for over 40 years now, only missing the year of the lockdown. It's a very special, very fun day!
My favorite tradition is Family Cookie Day. Our girls and spouses gather for a day in the kitchen making holiday cookies, sharing a meal and lots of chatting and laughter. Thank you for all you share!
Thanks for spending time with me. I too love it when everyone is home. I particularly enjoy seeing our adult children hanging out together. See you again soon!
I so enjoyed spending the afternoon with you. I loved hearing about and seeing all the wonderful things at the fiber festivals. My favorite thing at Christmas is singing in the choir! All the Christmas music just gives me joy. I love to bake and cook at Christmas to give others joy! And making hand crafted gifts gives others hugs and kisses from me in every stitch!
Thanks for spending the afternoon with me! I am so happy that I could keep you company. Music evokes so many memories-you are blessing others with your voice and all of your other creative endeavours! See you again soon.
Your Lift Me Up mittens look very warm. My favourite Christmas tradition is watching my great-granddaughter decorate for the holiday. She has great ideas for the tree and also for the house, both inside and outside.
Thanks for stopping by! My mittens are very warm and I have needed them a couple of mornings this week. Decorating is fun and the creativity of youngsters is always fun to see. Enjoy your time together!
Wow! Your grandson's sweater is a treasure! Nice to hear what you have been up to! Lovely knits and awesome enhancements to your yarn stash (its good to be stocked up with choices 😍 - in case a storm blows in) . With my first grandchild I started putting his picture in an ornament each year for the tree. Then when second, third and fourth came along, they got their yearly ornament and I finally got a separate tree. So each year, I have the four of them over for lunch and to decorate the "grandma tree" with their ornaments. 🎄That's all that goes on it. We are up to 48 in total now. They have fun seeing how they have grown up over the years. Thank you for sharing and safe travels. Take Care.
I just love spending time with my family at Christmas and also wrapping gifts for them. Christmas music is also a firm favourite. Thanks for a wonderful inspiring episode. I've never been lucky enough to attend a fibre festival
Thanks for taking us along on your fiber adventures. I've cut way back on old traditions of decorating, baking, and gift wrapping. My new year-end tradition is a New Year's Eve Cast On. With only two sleeves to go, I've been finishing WIPs and clearing needles for a Riptide vest and the Porto blanket. Enjoy all your acquisitions! xxx
Lift me up mittens are on my list. Love all your makes and your incredible yarn festival haul. You are so fortunate to have so many knitting friends. It’s mainly just me knitting by myself and visiting with my you tube knitting pals. My favourite knitting tradition is baking and knitting favourite treats for my grown kids and my 11 grandchildren. ❤
My favorite holiday is being able to spend time with family which doesn't happen every year. I enjoy seeing all your knitting and purchases. Happy knitting and congratulations on reaching 1000 subscribers. 🎉🎉🎉
I have many favourite holiday traditions, but the one that has really meant a lot since I moved back to NB a few years ago is making meat pies with my Mom every December. Thank you for the heartwarming stories. I love seeing all your beautiful knits!
Love all the acquisitions, enjoy, and it not just its gifts and therapy. Thanks for all the inspiration, my fav tradition is cutting the tree down and decorating, there are always " heated discussions about what tree and who made a mess with the lights etc but all fun with a glass of wine😂
I so enjoy seeing all your acquisitions from the different festivals. The only tradition we continue is picking out Christmas day breakfast. We all have favorites so we vote on what each years will be.
Thanks for sharing all your makes. I love the Lift me Mittens in the bright yellow. I do have the pattern & some yellow & orange mohair that I just might use to make my own. Love the inspiration. I think my favorite thing to do in winter is hike in the woods after a snowfall & check out all the varied wild animal footprints.
Thanks for stopping by. They are very warm and I love that they remind me of ☀️. A good woods hike is so rejuvenating in the winter and you can really see all of the trails just after a snow. See you again soon!
Congratulations! I've been taking our granddaughters to see a play in December which has now become a tradition. Your yarn purchases and plans are so good!
I love to see you sharing all the goodies! As much as it's a big mess and takes time during the busiest season, I love baking my traditional sweet treats. Of course there's family and friends, but the baking seems to ground me.
Thanks for spending time with me. I am baking with my Mom this week. I will be baked out before I get much of mine done. 😂. I keep hoping the baking fairies will show up at my house. See you again soon!
Thanks Lucy Ann,,,,🎉🎉a fun episode with Canadian content🎉 Congratulations on your 1,000 subscribers,,,,, I love getting together with friends over the holidays,,,baking,,,decorating,,,, Stay cozy by the fire knitting,,, ELAINE 🏠💗
I so look forward to seeing your podcast and all your knitting! Can’t wait to see you this weekend! My favourite Christmas tradition is breakfast on Christmas morning after opening all the presents! Overnight French toast is my go to recipe served with fresh fruit salad! Another tradition is a Christmas Eve cast on! Take care and happy knitting!🧶 ❤😊
Thanks for spending time with me! Sharing the fun is always good. I think children learn so much just being with their grandparents. I certainly learned a lot from mine! See you again soon
Sounds great! Thanks for spending time with me. I do enjoy mulled wine and cider. I think it is the smell as much as taste. It makes the whole house smell amazing. See you again soon!
Congratulations at reaching 1000 subscribers. My favourite Christmas tradition is crafting some handmade gifts whether it's ornaments (knit or crochet) or soap or lotion. Also going around various neighbourhoods to see the Christmas lights. .
Heya, loved having an afternoon of recovery with you my friend. Gosh you have been a machine - so many knits. Fave Christmas tradition which we have done for 10 + years is we do Christmas Brunch with our family and then they are all free to go their way the rest of the day (my sneaky aim is to have them all stay the night before and wake up with us lol) love you lots ❤ Lisa
Glad I could sit with you for a bit even virtually. I claimed Boxing Day so that they did not feel pressured- I too encourage sleeping over the night before. 😂. Two of our DILs have crazy demanding family expectations from their sides. I try not to contribute to the stress and as a result often have them stay a couple of nights depending on their work schedules. Happy knitting my friend 🧶❤️🧶❤️🩹
I concur with your comment on the yarn trends at the festivals. I was hoping to pick up a couple of sweater quantities at the PEI Fibre Festival but it they were not to be found so I am a bit jealous of your haul from Woodstock! 😊. My favourite thing about Christmas is getting together with family, especially hanging out with my grandkids.
Your podcast just popped up on my feed so I’m a newbie subscriber. I’m a fairly new spinner and also find spinning on my EEW really helps with stress/ anxiety. I’ve started a new family tradition at Christmas- I buy a Lego kit for the Tamil to build. (Usually something from their botanical line) Each of my grown children can then take a part home
I loved seeing your completed makes as well as all your gorgeous yarns from all over. Looking forward to seeing what you knit with them 🧶 After the celebrations of the day, I look forward to getting my feet up with my cosy blanket over me, my knitting and settle down for the evening to watch ‘Call the Midwife’ Christmas Day Special. That’s how I party here in North East Scotland on Christmas Day 🎉 I will also dream of how I can make it possible to get over to PEI in October!
Christmas Day is pretty quiet at our house, the kids all have other places to go, our celebration is Boxing Day So I get lots of knitting and Christmas telly to round it out. Be sure to let me know if you are going to make it to PEI, you would fit right in with our gang!
My husband and I get together with our daughter and family and on Christmas eve, we enjoy lobster stew. In a restaurant it is called lobster bisque. My husband (who is from Grand Manan, NB) learned how to make it from his Dad.
One stitch at the beginning of the round on the ‘right’ side. Because it is garter there is not really a right or wrong side 😊. Just pick a side and always do it on the same side.

Thanks for spending time with me. I too love it when everyone is home. I particularly enjoy seeing our adult children hanging out together. See you again soon!

Thanks for hanging out with me! I grew up having a seafood stew on Christmas Eve. What a great tradition and having the recipe from his Dad!
I like to knit on my sisters porch. So when it’s too cold here in Wisconsin we just knit together in her apartment.
Like Canada Wisconsin only has so many months to knit on the porch ❤️
The scarf is beautiful! How many stitches did you increase every other row?
One stitch at the beginning of the round on the ‘right’ side. Because it is garter there is not really a right or wrong side 😊. Just pick a side and always do it on the same side.
Thanks for stopping by!
