Flashcards or record cards are cheaper in ‘the works’(the shop). If u have access to the works then go get them there instead of WHSmith especially if ur making loads - save ur money people!
also u dont even need to go out a buy proper cards, you can be super ghetto about it and cut paper into squares and then hold them together with a binder clip or even a hairband.
thank you so much this really helped, I’m in year ten and only done a few revision cards that are all question cards, now I know I can summarise facts aswell- really helped
Once you've made your flash cards how do u test yourself? I recently started doing flash cards but by doing questions on the front and answers on the back but now I'm wondering if this is less effective because it's harder to highlight things? Xx
I think that would be good to test yourself on things but you could use cornell notes, where you write your notes and make some questions in the margin, colour code each question and highlight the answer from your notes. I think it would save you some time and help you. You can research more about cornell notes if you didn't understand.
Izzy G make flash cards with your friends and then switch them because then you won't know the questions like how you don't know the questions in the exam
Do you think making such flashcards is helpful? I think it takes alot of time and it's hard to cover all the informations and topics using this technique. ideas? However they are helpful for students that have a good time to spend on studying, thanks.
I genuinely think so far they’ve helped quite a lot, you just 100% have to make sure that you understand the info you’re writing on them and proper concentrate on them instead of just writing words from a book :)
@@emmaxolouise Hello! you're right. my teachers have also recommended me to use these flashcards, btw I'm writing igcse after 5 months, wish me luck😂 thanks for the response, keep going.
I cant seem to find what method of studying best suits me. Writing works for me although if it's plain its boring and makes me dont wanna study and when if it has color i feel like i put too much color that it also makes me just look at it and dont even study. This year, ill try to do the same method as you hopefully it will work on me! Thanks
Thank you for this video, I found it helpful! When they say “use the spec to make your flashcards” they mean use your revision guide right? By the way, where did you get those pens for writing the important words?
That's very beautiful. I've tried paper cards before, but I kept forgetting them. So I downloaded the app. My favorite "Smart Repetition" for ios and "Memory Card" for Android
check out Anki, its by far the best. It has an algorithm to repeat your flashcards after a certian period so you don't over revise and remember the content through active recall
Smart repetition has an algorithm for spaced repetitions and reminders, which allows you not to worry about it. I tried using anki, but it's too confusing compared to Smart repetition. Although I have nothing against anki, but it has an unnecessarily complicated interface.

No don’t memorize the notes, memorize key information. For example if you have a whole page on the digestive system, highlight all the body parts and the function that they do. Wrote the body part on one side of the flash cards and little facts about it on the other side. E.g. first side: Mouth/teeth/salivary glands Second side: teeth - physical method of breaking down - increases surface area.
