I'm a little obsessed with this song. I have 23 versions of it. While Tim Buckley is its progenitor, This Mortal Coil (Elizabeth Frazier), for me has the definitive version. This rendition quite nice, she has a nice tone.
Lovely. My favorite song of all time and you deliver it beautifully. Very impressed to hear someone do the things I thought only Elizabeth Frazier could do.
Actually This isn't a This Mortal Coil Cover although that's is the version that is used in several films....The original artist is Tim Buckley father of one fastest shooting stars ever to Grace the world of music, Jeff Buckely. I do love the original version but, I do kind of prefer a female voice singing these words and I can't explain why exactly....The song reminds me of saying good bye to someone for the last time....a heart crying out for love so strongly that it reaches out across oceans and through the sands of time....The Greeks believed in a mountain in hades, where upon the slopes, one can hear every voice that has ever cried out of loss, or unfulfilled desire, rings in a chaotic cacophony. I think this song must be the background music to that bleak eternal longing.
devin gertler Aww...shucks...are you the artist?...that's so kind....thank you for performing one of my favorite songs, that haunts the collective human psyche....sorry...I'm a performance poet by trade...I just think this way *shrugs*.
conner kilmer the way you worded the eternal longing is a beautiful way to describe heart break. I believe those who recognize that have a soul with depth and maybe few other precious gifts yet to be presented :)
devin gertler My girlfriend of 9 years just ditched me at our apartment...we had moved to the Atlanta suburbs from new York state, to change our lives as we were former heroine addicts....I hit 4 years clean in June. I've kept track of her by talking to people from where I'm from...I know that sounds creepy but, her family is all dead....my family was the closest thing she had....I worry about her...she has returned to a place we were living and begun using smack again. I know she left me for another guy...overheard her talking to him before she left. 9 years is a long time to live with someone....she moved in a week after we started dating and we spent the next 9 years moving around a lot. We were both living off of her trust fund...over 1 million $ ....a lot of people would tell her I was using her because I never had a steady job during our relationship...I did sell drugs during the time we were addicts, and was contributing more to our rent and so forth at that time...we lived with my family at a few different points as well...I felt like we working together to get by the best way we knew how to, at any given time. Thought you might like to know where my insight comes from. I'm a Buddhist living in the bible belt now, where no one dates outside the religion....my future love life isn't looking very hopeful.
a suggestion - this is beautiful but you should put your own interpretation to this song. your version is almost identical to this mortal coil's version.
+mmedeuxchevaux yup, would like to hear her add her own to it. Sounded a lot like liz maybe a bit shallow to liz but if the intent was a Liz Fraser tribute?...spot on

The voice is beautiful, but the view is ugly. Why cigarettes and alcohol? You could make a lot more out of you!
cigarettes and wine ewwww!!!!!!!!!
