Yes the blue sky is a good sign but big storm blew in last night so the blower hast to come out now lol. Thanks for the comment, Have a good weekend too!
Good morning Don! Great video! What beautiful forest and the opportunity to do some roadside firewood! Thanks again for posting and sharing your off grid life.
Thanks Ron ! It's always nice every few years they log close by so gives me a chance to find a few nice dry ones out there :) Glad you enjoy what I can share ! Have a great afternoon"
Loved the gorgeous winter scenic drive out for fire wood 🙌 ❤ postcard material ❤ Great helper for the day 😊 always a blessing whenever that happens 👍 You’ve mastered the fire wood sling’n skills 😆that was great 😂 makes life easier , not so many foot steps back and forth. Thanks again for sharing another one Don, take care and, stay warm and enjoy the rest of your evening 😊❤🌻🌻
Thanks :) I love getting out in new areas for a drive, Cold but beautiful at the same time :) I have thrown many blocks Some days I get lucky lol :)Thanks have a great weekend, take care"
Yes he's a big help & knows how to get his foot in it when he has too ! We do that a lot years they are logging near by :) Might get back out this weekend again for a full load :) Thanks for the comment"
Thanks :) A guy that works with steel can probably figure out a plan pretty easy ! Hope it helps :) -0c yesterday -15c today but they say warmer to come for the rest of the week :) Have a great afternoon"
Thanks for watching! I am glad you liked the video. Yes a little different weather here than it is there ! Going to be -1c in a couple days so warm for a week then cold again :)
Lol ! Some day I don't know if I'm coming or going either ! They are logging 20 miles away from my cabin so Sun thought we go for a ride & of course with a saw just in case :)) Have a great afternoon"
They don't work in the bush if you have much snow but on good ground it's awesome ! There is one point when i hold it up close stop the video & take a pic :) The leg on the back is 8inches long & you will see at what point on the bottom to mount it for the balance point , 3 foot handle with a 3foot snipe, If you can watch the video on TV then you will get a better picture :) Shoot me a message if you need more info"
@@DarrenShaw-ev5tb Just simple & real ! Yes sometimes a nap is needed after lol :) The fresh air gets you when you come back in to a warm wood fire😊, Thanks for watching glad you enjoy !
That dry wood is a must for the off-grid life! I don't actually look for pine that much, The Tamarack makes me keep window open all the time, Even at -30c :) Thanks for following !
That's a bummer but I'm glad to be able to get some firewood easily! Where we were out n an ice road you just fall them across lol :) Kenny just put out flares an pretend you broke down lol ! Thanks for the comment"
How's she goin'? Nice to be able to get some wood right there by the side of the road. That sure beats trudging through knee deep snow and trying to limb and block up a log eh!! Some cold Don. Stay warm buddy!! Take 'er easy!!
I used to get pine where a forest fire went through. One of the best fire wood I got. That tool worked not to bad. I made a jig to hold logs and it fits in my truck receiver hitch. Plus one on my front end loader. I made a tub that fits under the log and they all drop into it. Or I have a log splitter on the back of my bombardier. I can us that to hold a log I usually but two logs together and hold them with the log splitter. I left it on the unit when I use to go moose hunting. Nothing wrong using a car.
Thanks for the comments :) Yes I made two different kinds that goes in the hitch receiver & one that can go on the back corner of my big trailer, But you have to lift the log by hand to put it in so I just use my hillbilly log roller quick & easy :) When you love wood heat you find all kinds of ways to make it just a little easier on the body & every once in a while we come up with a new idea :) Have a great afternoon"
Good day Don. Crunchy under foot today there. I had one of those pieces of )&$@#%£€# wood today, and right into the fire. 🔥🔥🤭🤭. Nice load of wood. Right around the freezing temperature mark here today. Wet snow or rain coming down. Have a great Friday. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻🪵🪵🪓🪓🔥
Thanks my friend it was ! & yes right in the fire boy did that pine warm the cabin up :) Yesterday we had -0c today -15c tomorrow suppose to be -6c , Alberta who knows what's next ?? Thanks for the comment"
Hey Don just catching up. Looks like I'm late to.the show. Hey did you forget the pickaroo? LOL. NICE WOOD. Bet the chevy never 3ven knew it was towing anything. Helpers are always handy to have along. After seeing that thick natural forest, it sure makes you think how much lumber was lost in those forest areas around you. Thanks, Don, catching up on your videos.
Yes I for got it ! Yes that little trailer pulls nice :) Just don't brake to hard when hauling a full cord on a ice road lol ! Yes a lot of lumber lost in every fire, They go in & take out what they can the first winter to save what they can, We had another storm & wind 3 days ago about three more inches of snow ! But warm coming for 5 days then cold again so maybe new projects lol, Thanks for watching"
WOW, 46 degrees below freezing. I guess if you get used to it. We get down to freezing at night/early morning. During the day it consistently goes 18 degrees warmer. Was wondering do you have any hard woods to burn? The cant hook for cutting wood is great, as you said it definitely is a back saver. Eventually if it gets in the budget a dump trailer could be useful. This video is a great example on how one can stay fit - The outdoor gym. Take care Don, great video.
I just can't handle the wet like you get that close to the coast, There was time but not at this stage in my life, I want to start enjoying it & spending more time on the road not feeding animals at the homestead, I butchered the last pigs I had two years ago, Now I let my kids raise them & I'm not tied down :) Getting to old for all that shovel work I had to do this summer but that is kind of the last of it, A little milling & enjoy retirement :) Thanks for the comment"
