    I watched this video a while back and bought some and promptly put it on a shelf and looked at it for a couple of weeks. I started making a quilt a little while back and thought maybe I would give it a try. OMG!!! What a difference. I was thinking it would take up more time but not really. And the way everything goes together is worth the extra 5 seconds it takes to to use it. Can't recommend it strongly enough. Thank you.

    Oh my gosh. I have put this on a priority list. Because I am embarking on pieced projects next year, and a newbie at the whole idea.this stuff may be a true blessing. It seems like it will take all the stress out of quilting! Thanks for the ideas.

    I love glue basting. I’m cheap and use Elmers. Prick and distortion free piecing. Allows you to piece and phase your work. It is like dry fitting. I find it a time saver at the sewing machine. No shifting. I have never had gumming issues. I spend very little time with the seam ripper.

    Thanks for the great video! How would you go about pressing the seams open after using the glue? Would it gum up the iron? Thanks!

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts Рік тому

      This "glue" holds the fabric but easily comes apart using your finger or a bamboo stick or similar. As it is dry, it doesn't get on the iron at all.

    Whats the best weight stablizer? Just learning to use a machine embroidery.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 2 роки тому

      This depends on the type of stitching that you are doing. For heavy stitching, you need a heavier stabilizer or I like to layer 2 or 3 pieces of regular weight stabilizer.

    Elmer’s school glue works exactly like this for a quarter or more less expensive.

      Sometimes I use Elmer's glue sticks but not for this technique. Seam Align Glue is not permanent as Elmer's glue is and easily pulls apart if you need to reposition. It also doesn't go through the fabric and you only need to use a very, very small dot of it so it lasts a long time.

    I can't believe the prices of this glue, I use the Amazon clear glue, works exactly the same for a fraction of the price.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 7 місяців тому

      I don't find it expensive - prices vary - and I like the fact that it lasts a long time and I can easily pull apart the fabric which I can't do using a gluestick or similar product.
