Police has only the right to issue challan in this matter and not the authority to break the number plates of vehicle.
That wasn't her property anymore because the number plate was not valid and cannot be used. So he just confiscated the plate that's all, but I do agree that the way by the police officer ripped the number plate out of the was unprofessional.
