so true my friend, their is enough technology in place, or can be that if anything in our trucks is a red flag they could stop and divert you, otherwise we should not have to stop
great vid Bob, keep up the good work. I'm 1100 miles away now but when I watch the videos, I feel like I'm back home. I worked on zug island 37 yrs ago
It's quite the rust spot from a google earth point of view. The bridge is a beautiful thing, however not the spectacular view we might want. But it was meant to take the traffic and pollution away from the city. That they did accomplish. There are some residential areas in the US and a few kilometers from sandwich town, but mostly surrounded by commercial and industrial properties. Zug Island is an interesting location. 🌉
The Gordie should take a lot of hazmat traffic from the Bluewater bridges in Sarnia. I think the Ambassador bridge still prohibits most hazmat. As of Oct.29th class 3 fuels, and class 8 batteries are allowed, but that traffic will use the Gordie once it opens. Any hazmat coming down the 401 to destinations in Detroit or south will save a few hours, and toll dollars by using the new bridge.
Thanks Carlos, I'll see if I can find anything to confirm the type of joint they are using. There are some sophisticated systems out there. Could be finger joints but it isn't disclosed in my searches. Thanks for the heads up! :)
Hi Richard. Glad you asked. I searched this question a few weeks back and never got a definitive answer. However I did a quick search and this is what I found. Yes, the Gordie Howe International Bridge project includes plans for a duty-free store at the Canadian plaza. The development aims to enhance border crossings and provide amenities for travelers. When the bridge is completed, the duty-free store will offer a variety of products to those traveling between the U.S. and Canada. That's great to know. Thanks for the question. Now we know!!😎👍
Ok here is my Artwork.A hand holding a gun a bullet flying out of the barrel. Signifing the closeness of windsor and detroit. Called " Windsor just a bullet shot away from Detroit "
Thank you and have a great week.

Both are valid explanations. Great comment! 👍

I expect it will. However they have opened the Ambassador to hazmat traffic, so that should help in the meantime.
Possibly finger joint expansion joints

Thanks Bob, Is there going to be Duty Free? Seeing as how the Bridge is owned by the Canadian Government.
Duh, 😅😮
Lol. 🌉👀👍
Did anyone notice a new Duty Free Shop on the Canadian side?

Thomas, Thomas, Thomas. That may have been good around the 1812 era. Now it should be Lawyers throwing paper airplanes made from tariff documents.👀
We will have to wait and see what will happen
You are right about that, gwater! 👍
