Your garden always turns out so nice. I’m in central Indiana too and this year the weeds got way ahead of me. I got a new Great Dane puppy and several times he uprooted the whole garden. I finally figured out a barrier he couldn’t get into but then it was hard for me to get into, and then those 90+ degree days, I couldn’t handle it. I’ve put back several 40 pound dog food bags I’m going to try next year for potatoes. Congratulations on your beautiful harvest! I too have the kitty litter pails like that but I’ve been putting my bulk sugar and noodles and packaged good in those.
@@T_Barb we also use our extra kitty litter buckets for our bulk storage of our dry good preps , it's nice to hear from like minded individuals that are trying to be a little more self sufficient in these crazy times . @@rosageorge2612 when we planted in the buckets we used compost and composted leaves and composted mulch and some of our garden soil with organic tomato and vegetable granular fertilizer and when we harvested the soil was very dry because I stopped watering these containers 2 weeks before we harvested , it also helped that we are having a severe drought so that's why the soil was very loomy and dry thanks for watching 👍
Wow! What a beautiful harvest of delish looking potatoes!👍 You do have a bit of wrong info you mostly got from other youtubers. Green potatoes aren't toxic. You can cut the green off and eat the rest of the potato, or you can eat a few with a bit of green with non green potatoes. Green potatoes will simply give you a tummy ache; however, you have to eat a lot at one time to upset your stomach.
@@valoriegriego5212 thanks for watching and commenting friend but in 1925 two deaths were recorded from eating green potatoes because the green potatoes contain Solanine and according to Encyclopedia Britannica. Com Solanine is a neurotoxin and if ingested can cause nausea , headaches , and can lead to neurological problems or even death if enough is consumed . I just simply use my green ones as seed potatoes to avoid all of that , please make sure you cut away all of the green parts if you choose to eat them 🙏
