How to Fix Laptop Spacebar Key HP Notebook keyboard Tutorial

This is a Video Tutorial / Guide that will show you how to repair spacebar key on a laptop. If you have a broken or removed mechanical spacebar keycap on your laptop, this video will help you replace or fix the key in a few minutes.
It is a little bit complicated as it has stabilizing bars like some other keys for example enter or backspace can also have a stabilizing bar.

I really cannot thank you enough! I wanted to clean under my space bar because I could see that there was dirt underneath it, so I pulled out the space bar, cleaned it but when I tried to put it back together it wouldn’t work. It didn’t fit properly. I even used blue tack to help stick it back on, but then I decided to watch this video and now my space bar works again and is in its original form. Thank you💗

Oh thanks for showing us how to remove those two parts underneath the bar, the left one broke and after I removed it I fixed it and reinstalled everything in literally 1 minute, thank you SO much

My spacebar is cracked into 3 pieces, the hinges and the brackets for them are broken, and the rubber cap in the middle has come off. My kids broke it. I'm waiting for a full hardware replacement at this point. Thanks to everyone who makes tutorials like these, I've been able to work with what I've got and keep my laptop functional (although awkwardly so) while my new laptop keyboard is in transit from Korea.
Sadly, I have yet to find a tutorial video on how to replace a slim LG gram type laptop's keyboard. It looks like I get to disassemble it completely to make it happen, since it needs to be accessed from the bottom.

What if your spacebar mostly works but skips whenever you type a key where your fingers more naturally go to lower part of the spacebar key. Most of the time it works, but it doesn't leave a space when I don't hit the key a little lower than the middle. This is for an asus laptop, but the key parts seem to be installed where they should be and don't seem to be broken. I ordered a new key set from a website and they sent me the wrong one, but I don't see that this one is broken anyway. I agree that you're good at explaining and thank goodness you filmed it so we can see what you're doing.

There's no way I'm opening my spacebar with that many stabilizers. I'm already having a hell of a time trying to reassemble my floating key spacebar cap. Two of them? Hall nah. I would probably destroy my laptop 💀
