  • Have you seen our new Happy Harvest demo? Go behind the scenes with the team that made it and benefit from new ways to create eye-catching art in Unity. Using a top-down view with 2D lights, we show you how to up your shadow game with dynamically lit worlds and how brand-new support for VFX Graph and Shader Graph lets you run millions of particles on the GPU. We finish with a sneak peek at the AI-powered Muse Sprite, helping you create sprites faster than ever.

Uh... people please take a look at the usernames of the commenters on recent Unity videos... Do you pay people to write positive comments, Unity?

Funny, but any "real" view-farm would never use these types of names.
Seems more likely it's someone who want it to look like they are buying views

@@dungensAreDragons, I wouldn't find that funny, I find it questionable that they don't get deleted. And I'm also not only talking about the people who have their scams in their username, but also those who look like they've just randomly generated their name with a stock photo as their profile picture and post such deep thoughts as "Great!", "I love {channel name}!" and "that is so inspiring!".

I love the way they disabled lighting in the demo video for the AI 38:20, just to lie to you that its that easy without putting into account the normal maps, sprite masks, animation etc
I love Unity, but the AI grifting is insane

It's an early preview...so needs to be treated as such. To be honest, not all 2D games have normal maps, mask maps, skeletal animation... so the use case shown still applies for the majority of games. The lights are disable so it doesn't look strange to have a mix of sprites with Secondary Textures and others without

for a lot of casual 2D puzzle games its actually better to avoid to much lighting and effects. Both regarding battery usage but also that data shows that many users just gets distracted by it or do not even notice. For a more full immersive game then yes those effects is great. For a match 3 game not so much. Apart from well particles. People love confetti and sparks particles. And big shiny logos. So for larger text lighting can be good. For the game board you can as well just skip it.
