  • Alix Earle rose to fame last year as TikTok's new it girl. However, in the past few weeks, a new face has arrived on the scene: Sofia Richie. Both girls are posting similar types of content but have completely different fashion styles and lifestyles. However, one seems to be a better role model than the other. Let's talk about it.

I still find it strange that people don't just wear what they think looks good and/or is comfortable. I've reached a point where people tell me my clothes are outdated (aka from the 2010s) but it's stuff I think is cool, so I wear it. Clothing can be so diverse now (goth, cute, tomboy, classy, comfy) so having to see a tiktok star wear it first is a very teenage way of thinking.

21-year-old guy here and I agree. Peoples lives seem completely engrossed in their phones and stuff. And everyone is idolizing these random fake people on social media, and you know what the Bible says about idols. It’s making it so difficult just to do common stuff. Sometimes I wish I could just go live in a remote cabin in Alaska where I spend my days fly fishing (which I don’t even know how to do) with an old dog sitting by my side. Especially as I’m listening to John Denver’s “Sunshine on my Shoulders” while looking through these comments. Anyway, I can’t even find a good woman with values like mine at this point. My friend told me not to and that I shouldn’t blame girls if they become a victim but that’s not the case it’s how you come across to others, I wasn’t saying she was asking for it but simply stated to my friend that other people will think she “wants it” which is the way it goes it a lot of cases so sad. Other than today when I looks like a train wreck with my coffee spilled down my shirt, I often get a lot of polite compliments on being feminine and it being refreshing. It’s not that hard, it’s easier and more comfortable to throw on a long flowing dress and some wedged flip-flops that show off a neutral self-pedicure than a shirt belittling men, some combat boots, and stiff shredded jeans to go with a scowl. Often when I hear about girls being treated like crap, I always wonder what they were wearing and where they were. How you dress affects how people treat you, you can say it shouldn’t be this way, but it is that way. It’s not so much pretty privilege, it’s being positive privilege and knowing being a girl seen as a girl is good. I mean if guys can wear pink, girls can too! That said when I go into a bad part of town I don’t wear the girly outfit, I dress grey so not to get cat called or worse. It goes back to dressing for how do you want to be treated. There is a time to wear the “leave me alone” outfits. Just realize you’re doing that. In the same way some girls are looking for a one night stand and that’s the kind of guy they attract. 🤷🏽‍♀️ They choose that.

Idk about anyone else, but I was interested in her wedding because the last I heard of Sophia Richie, she was dating Scott Disick at a YOUNG age. Yes, she was legal, but she was young and playing with adults highly experienced in a hedonistic lifestyle. It was scary, and I'm glad she's out of there. May she continue to grow wiser and have a peaceful and joyful life!

😂 Brett, don’t act daft. Of course you need money to look like Sophia Ritchie. It isn’t about the modesty- it’s about the classy rich aesthetic which YOU CANNOT GET from cheap clothing. And she doesn’t have to do OF, she has a rich father and married a rich man.

It’s so refreshing to know that someone embodying modest standards of beauty for themselves is being seen by young women. Especially given how much beauty influence they receive on social media that is counter to the “natural” and classy styles that are indicative of their genuine appearance. I wish we saw more people like role models, and even characters or princesses you pay to have at a child’s birthday party, confidently showing themselves as beautiful without being peer pressured to wear makeup or expensive clothing IF that is their choice. More little girls need to see this as normalized and something to look up to, regardless of whether makeup and brand name possessions are beyond their reach or desires.
Thank you as Always, to Brett and her fantastic team members and supports. Touching grass can do wonders for your mental health, self image, and well being if you look into what that statement really means beyond a surface level❤

I have a style that aligns very closely with Sofia Richie, that “classic” and timeless look, and I can tell you that men LOVE that look. I get respectful complements all the time from men on my fashion, it’s not the typical “you look hot” comments that the “Miami” look gets you. It’s been very interesting experiencing this difference in my interactions with men as I’ve curated my style over the years.

As a 21-year-old man, I completely agree. Class and modesty its important to me. And I mean classy in a way that’s based on personality, not money or status. It’s kind of disappointing to find that most women my age aren’t ladies. I rarely see one in an actual dress (as in not an ugly, skintight clubbing dress). Most of them don’t have good manners either. It’s a complete turn-off for me.

I have known Sofia Richie since she was up her neck in polemic news, Kardashians and Justin Bieber (who I like very much, but he was a mess too). I didn’t like her before but I was so surprised to see her like this, she had the REAL Glow Up!!! Her wedding it’s already one of my favorites, definitely an inspiration.
She did wisely: get off of controversies and stay quietly working on her own life and appearance, put all together in a very good place to be the best version of herself. She seems much happier! I hope and wish for her to have a happy and fulfilled life.

Brett, don’t feel bad about talking about more “superficial” endeavors. It’s fashion, it’s culture, and it definitely influences people, especially younger guys and girls. Fashion and beauty are hallmarks of femininity , which I feel is important. I agree with your assessment here. Sofia Richies classic style is one I’m emulating.

I watched this video and I didn't like how she paints Alix as the bad guy and Sofia Richie as the good guy. One time in this video she said "I like how Sophia Richie isn't trying to be anyone but herself" but everyone can agree that just until recently so Sophia Richie has had a transformation in her style up until now she's just been kind of like a girl that's been in the shadow of the Kardashians dating Scott disick wearing really revealing outfits as well. Now she's changed into this classy girl whereas someone like Alex is very transparent with who she is and is just kind of always been a fun party girl who goes to the University of Miami. News flash everyone who goes to big party schools dress like that it's something you do when you're in your early twenties your partying. I think it's about time we stop painting women against each other. Someone like alix and Sofia Richie are just two incredible women that don't need to be painted against each other if anything she could have just talked about a contrast in their styles you did not have to go ahead and say that I'm so glad Sophia Richie is being looked up to versus a girl like Alex because it puts her down and there's no real reason for that they are just different people with different fashion senses and personalities one is not right vs wrong

I think we need Brett to do an "Off The Clock" modest outfit selections/modeling. So if you say you don't need old money, why not show young women what you think are good choices, or get friends to suggest what they want to see Brett model for the viewers -- maybe have limits on jeans, cowboy boots or jackets :)
